Her body’s biological clock fought with Su Wan all night, as she drifted in and out of sleep and didn’t fall asleep until the middle of the night. When she finally opened her eyes, Su Wan realized—
She, who had never been late before, was… actually… late.
No one woke her up, and she could sleep as long as she wanted. Was this really a student’s life? This must be the life of the gods!
Even if she rushed, she’d still be late, so Su Wan calmed down. Leisurely, she started to get ready. After all, in the teachers’ eyes, she already had the image of a poor student. Being late or leaving early was common, and she didn’t expect that one day of being on time would change anything.
Casually tidying herself up, she started looking for her school uniform in the closet, but couldn’t find it anywhere.
She called out to the housekeeper, “Aunt Chen, have you seen my school uniform?”
Aunt Chen paused for a moment. “What do you need your uniform for?”
Su Wan also paused. “For school.”
Aunt Chen replied, “Oh, uh… I’ll go find it right away.”
Apart from the teachers, only a few unruly students didn’t wear school uniforms. Su Wan didn’t want to wear any of the eccentric clothes in her closet to school; she’d feel like a peacock trying too hard to be noticed.
Aunt Chen secretly wondered, noting how Su Wan had been acting strangely since yesterday. Someone who never wore a uniform now wanted to wear one to school—it was quite rare.
“I know where it is. Go have breakfast first, and I’ll get it for you,” Aunt Chen said.
“Thank you,” Su Wan replied casually, surprising Aunt Chen yet again.
Aunt Chen stood there, dumbfounded, watching Su Wan leave, noting how she even closed the door gently instead of rushing out as usual.
Aunt Chen thought for a moment and had an idea. Could it be… she’s fallen in love?
The brand-new school uniform had never been worn before. A mint-colored blouse matched with a pleated skirt in the same color, long socks, and little leather shoes—fresh and vibrant.
Su Wan had only ever worn her loose, baggy uniform. Dressing up so neatly like this felt a bit unnatural to her.
Now, even sitting down, she had to be careful not to cross her legs, lest she’d be too exposed.
She suddenly appreciated the old, plain school uniforms everyone used to complain about.
Sitting in the back seat of the private car, Su Wan’s mind wandered.
In the original story, the former owner of her body was a high school freshman—a troublemaker, a slacker at everything, with a lot of bad friends.
Her classmate Shen Tingyan, who was excellent academically but very reclusive, had been assigned to her class. Thanks to the original owner’s influence, many classmates openly and subtly bullied Shen Tingyan, making his two years of high school life a nightmare.
Everything kept going down a destructive path.
In other words, as long as she didn’t provoke Shen Tingyan, she’d be able to live her life in peace. The thought made Su Wan so happy—she could keep living her carefree, lazy life!
The car slowly stopped at the school entrance.
Su Wan got out with her small backpack, facing the grand entrance of the private high school. The gilded characters “Sheng Yue High School” gleamed, making her feel a bit dazed.
Returning to school after so many years and dealing with a group of childish kids… she wasn’t sure whether to feel excited or exasperated.
At that moment, only a few students were rushing through the school gates. As the bell was about to ring, Su Wan made her way to Class 1-13.
The spacious campus was empty as she leisurely strolled through, standing out in her calm demeanor. When the bell rang, sounds of recitations filled the hallways as she passed by the teaching buildings.
With her backpack, Su Wan briskly walked to the door of her class, instinctively calling out, “Reporting in.”
