Quite natural.
The heroine’s calm demeanor and resolute expression, with only slightly furrowed brows, revealed her worry.
“Meow…”
Under Su Wan’s gentle reassurance, the cat slowly walked toward her, lifting its head and blinking up at her.
“Come on, let’s get you down.”
Even though the cat had its own safety measures, Su Wan handled it with care.
Holding the cat in her arms, she couldn’t help but smile.
Director Meng quickly signaled for a close-up.
In that instant, Su Wan’s gentle expression was captured perfectly. It was a side of her never before shown to the public, tender and enchanting.
Assistant Cheng muttered, “Didn’t she dislike animals?”
Su Qin lowered her eyes, hiding the coldness in her gaze.
“Who knows.”
Su Wan, that woman, was now pretending to embrace things she disliked.
Was it because of Li Yang?
Just the name “Li Yang” caused a needle-like pain in Su Qin’s heart.
Su Wan, holding the cat, gently descended to the ground, her dress fluttering around her like a lotus in bloom.
“Cut!”
Director Meng reviewed the scene and nodded, saying, “Let’s keep the momentum going and shoot all the wire scenes. Your body’s a bit stiff, so try to relax.”
Su Wan, surprisingly calm rather than annoyed, nodded and carefully handed the cat to a crew member.
“Got it.”
People were still quietly comparing the two sisters. Su Qin’s action scenes were excellent, while Su Wan, often dismissed as a mere pretty face, was expected to make a fool of herself.
What they didn’t know was that the original Su Wan had trained in dance for many years and was very flexible, even if she had rarely shown it.
Su Wan followed instructions without complaint, even performing a perfect split when asked, leaving everyone stunned.
In mid-air, she struck a balance of grace and coolness, leaving the onlookers speechless.
“Incredible…”
“Is that even human?”
“Way more elegant than Su Qin’s fighting scenes…”
The more Director Meng watched, the more pleased he became. When Su Wan finally finished the scene, drenched in sweat, he clapped with satisfaction.
“Great work, everyone! Take a break!”
He walked over to Su Wan, maintaining a stern face, but his expression was much softer.
“Make sure to get a good massage tonight, so you’re not sore tomorrow.”
This practically confirmed that Su Wan was now his top choice for the lead.
Su Qin’s face turned dark as she stared at them in disbelief.
She got the role just like that?!
Su Qin bit her lip, composed herself, and walked up to Su Wan. Today, everyone had been focused on Su Wan, as if she were the true star.
Jealousy gnawed at her, eroding her composure.
“Sister, I have some scenes to go over with you. Do you have time?”
She knew Su Wan hated being called “sister,” and used the term deliberately. Su Wan took a sip of water, turned with a smile, and said, “Sure. We can do it now.”
Su Qin’s expression froze.
Everyone had been expecting a sisterly showdown, but to their surprise, Su Wan was genuinely friendly and natural with Su Qin—nothing like the vicious character the rumors had painted.
Assistant Cheng asked, “You haven’t looked at the script yet, right? I’ll go get it for you.”
“Oh, no need. I’ve memorized it all.”
“Really?” Xiao Zheng was surprised.
They all thought Su Wan was just bragging, but to their astonishment, she recited a string of lines fluently and smoothly, as if she had practiced many times.
Su Wan truly had no intention of showing off.
She simply wanted to make things easier for everyone; memorizing lines wasn’t that difficult.
From a distance, Director Meng saw this scene and cheerfully said to his assistant, “I think Su Wan isn’t as unbearable as we imagined.”
“She’s got some charm.”
That day, the news of #Su Wan’s Gentleness# and #Filming of “The City’s Colors” Begins# hit the trending topics, along with some clips from the set.
Usually, the comments were filled with criticism and mockery, but today, there were suddenly different voices.
“When the beautiful lady gets gentle, it’s truly irresistible!”
“With a face as pretty as Su Wan’s, let’s not waste it.”
“She actually has some acting skills.”
…
Compliments were few but scattered, and of course, they were quickly overshadowed by Su Qin’s fans.
Like waves that suddenly rise, they were soon drowned out by the tide of gossip.
Su Wan didn’t pay much attention to this.
“Ouch, ouch, ouch!”
The masseur had been as gentle as possible, but her fair and firm waist was marked with dark purple bruises, and there were also bruises on her back and legs…
How delicate must her skin be for the bruises to look so alarming?
“Will I even be able to face anyone tomorrow?”
