Voyeurism
Voyeurism chapter 7

Ye Si rarely wore sportswear, a black hooded sweatshirt and loose sports pants, looking no different from many college students who went for a night run.

It was a common outfit on the street, but somehow it felt out of place on him.

Yu Guang couldn’t describe the feeling in his heart.

He thought he was discreetly sizing up the other person, from the strands of hair to the shoes, not missing a single detail.

Faithful followers of a divine being always hoped that their gods would remain noble and untouched by the mundane, but in certain dark moments, they fervently fantasized about their gods falling from grace.

But behind the fall from grace, there must be reasons that could satisfy their desire to peek. Only by peeking could they be satisfied.

Yu Guang was not satisfied.

It seemed that something hidden in the depths of the sea had subtly changed—out of his sight.

“Senior, why are you in the mood for a night run tonight?” He took a step back, intentionally avoiding the black cat held by Ye Si, pretending to cautiously inquire.

Due to some dark thoughts, he didn’t want to miss any reasons that could change Ye Si.

But his scrutiny had always ignored his own presence in the environment.

So the confusion at this moment was doomed to remain unresolved.

Ye Si raised an eyebrow at him, his narrow, upward-sloping eyes seeming to penetrate his soul, even causing him to feel a chaotic illusion:

Those hidden dirty thoughts seemed to be exposed and thrown onto the scorching ground under the intense light, undergoing baptism…

Yu Guang’s heart trembled, suddenly feeling a strong urge to retreat into his shell.

Just as he was about to step back, he was stopped in his tracks by a single sentence from Ye Si.

“Not for a night run. Tennis, care to join?” There was a slight upward inflection in his tone, like a hook dipped in a potion of enchantment.

As he spoke, his slender, fair fingers intermingled with the fur on the black cat’s back, emitting an astonishing beauty with extreme color contrast.

Yu Guang was momentarily overwhelmed, but quickly came to his senses and hastily refused.

“No… I’d rather not.”

He didn’t know how to play tennis at all, and going would only make him embarrassed.

Although the idea of being in close contact with Ye Si was enticing, he still preferred the kind of palpitation that arose from secretly peeking at the other person through narrow crevices while hiding in a corner.

Darkness gave him a sense of security but also brought about an adrenaline rush of excitement.

Ye Si scrutinized him for a long time, his expression calm, making it hard to tell whether he was displeased with Yu Guang’s rejection.

“Well, if you don’t want to, then forget it.”

With that, he gently set down the black cat he had been holding for so long.

The sinister black cat seemed to be quite fond of Ye Si, not in a hurry to leave even when it was set free. Instead, it rubbed against his feet, its long tail swishing back and forth against the legs of his sports pants.

Ye Si looked down at the little creature by his feet, chuckled lightly, then turned to Yu Guang and said, “Kittens are very cute, why are you afraid, Yu Guang? The kitten will be sad.”

Following his gaze, Yu Guang met the vertical-pupiled cat eyes of the black cat. In just an instant, a chilling sensation crawled up his spine.

But Ye Si’s probing gaze was so palpable that even though he detested furry animals to the extreme, Yu Guang managed to force a smile.

With his bangs falling over his forehead as he lowered his head, his long eyelashes trembling, Yu Guang cast a ruthless and disdainful glance at the black cat crouching by the man’s feet, unseen by Ye Si.

The black cat, which had remained silent all along, suddenly let out a “meow.”

Startled by the sound, Yu Guang came back to his senses. In the blink of an eye, the cat had turned and darted into the dark bushes, its cat-like footsteps gradually fading away until they disappeared.

Ye Si waved at him before heading towards the direction of the sports stadium, his tall figure disappearing into the distance.

After hesitating for a long time, Yu Guang tightened his grip on the straps of his backpack and hurriedly followed Ye Si.

He hadn’t seen what it looked like when the senior played tennis, so he didn’t want to miss it.

Maintaining a distance neither too far nor too close to the man, Yu Guang kept pace with him, not wanting to lose sight of him.

But after turning a corner—

Ye Si was nowhere to be found.

There were some students coming and going around, but there was no trace of Ye Si.

Frowning, Yu Guang quickly scanned the surroundings but found nothing.

He couldn’t have lost sight of him.

How could he suddenly disappear from view after just turning a corner?

His steps quickened involuntarily as he headed towards the outdoor tennis court and then to the indoor tennis hall.

But he didn’t find Ye Si anywhere.

It was as if Ye Si had vanished into thin air, giving rise to a sense of temporal and spatial distortion.

It was as if he had never seen Ye Si tonight, and had never been invited to play tennis together.

The buzzing vibration of his phone in his pocket brought him back to reality. Yu Guang sluggishly took out his phone and glanced at it.

He squinted, adjusting to the brightness of the phone screen in the darkness.

A new message from Lena popped up—

NANA: It’s Friday today, why not come and have some fun?

The sound of hitting balls echoed in the tennis hall, but a quick scan revealed no trace of the figure imprinted on his heart.

Yu Guang closed his eyes and entered the messaging app.

Yu Guang: Coming.

Following the familiar route, Yu Guang climbed over the wall out of the school gate, unaware of the black cat silently observing everything behind him.

He stumbled slightly upon landing.

Looking around suspiciously and finding no security patrol, Yu Guang patted his pants leg and headed towards the BLUE bar.
