Voyeurism: A Novel
Voyeurism chapter 9

When the first rays of morning sunlight streamed through the window, hi’s eyelashes trembled, gradually waking up.

Reflected in his eyes were the mirrored ceiling tiles, which also reflected him lying on the bed.

His head still felt heavy and his body as if it had been run over by a truck, sore and exhausted.

Especially on the left side of his neck, there was a stabbing pain as if being pricked by needles—

This was far beyond the symptoms of a hangover.

Yu Guang wasn’t an ignorant innocent rabbit; many possibilities flashed through his mind in an instant.

But apart from the soreness, there was nothing else uncomfortable about his body, and his clothes were still intact.

After a moment of silence, Yu Guang looked out the window.

The glaring sunlight was almost blinding, causing some physiological tears to well up.

Blinking away the tears that threatened to spill, he weakly turned his head and hid in the shadows.

There seemed to be a mixture of perfume and hotel fragrance in the air, with a hint of familiarity amidst the strangeness.

Such a combination of scents was never pleasant.

Yu Guang wrinkled his nose, his muddled head struggling to function.

Despite several attempts, he couldn’t quite identify the familiar smell.

As his throbbing headache intensified, accompanied by the sharp pain in his left neck, Yu Guang took a deep breath and sat up.

The sudden rush of blood to his brain left him momentarily blinded by darkness before he recovered.

With sluggish eyes, he began to carefully examine his surroundings.

He found himself in an unfamiliar romantic double room.

The bright daylight outside the window failed to mask the room’s true intentions.

The ceiling was deliberately made of mirrors, reflecting the posture and appearance of the person lying on the bed perfectly…

The shower room, facing the end of the bed, had no barriers, and even the bathtub was transparent.

It wasn’t hard to imagine what these things were used for…

With a tightened breath, Yu Guang moistened his dry lips.

After confirming that there was nothing particularly unusual about his body, he eased his heightened anxiety, only to be replaced by deeper suspicions.

He had a lot of trust in Lena.

But the current situation… seemed to be related to the drink Lena gave him.

Why? Was it really the drink Lena gave him?

Yu Guang pressed his throbbing temples hard and got out of bed.

Looking around, there seemed to be no trace of anyone else in the room except for him.

But his backpack, which should have been placed under the bar counter, was now leaning against the bedside table.

He stared at it quietly for a moment, a hint of contemplation in his eyes.

There must have been someone else in his room—

Perhaps that person deliberately erased any traces of their presence before leaving, or maybe they just briefly helped him put away his backpack and left.

Yu Guang leaned more towards the first speculation.

Because the faint perfume scent in the air couldn’t have been picked up in just a brief stay.

With a firm gaze, he stepped to the other side of the bedside table and carefully checked the contents of the backpack, inside and out, finding nothing missing.

—Except that the pair of skull earrings had been carefully placed back in the jewelry box and put back in its original place.

Furrowing his brow, Yu Guang belatedly touched his earlobe.

Sure enough, the earlobe that had been wearing the earring before he fell into darkness was now empty.

Subconsciously twiddling the soft flesh around his earlobe, he felt a slight tingling sensation, not much different from the feeling in his left neck.

But he didn’t pay much attention to it. His mind was filled with another thought—

Could it be that the person who brought him to this romantic room was so kind? Worried that he might be uncomfortable wearing the earring while sleeping, they took it off for him before he slept?

It was really strange.

Who would go through the trouble of drugging him to get him here, only to spend a night and do nothing else?

Probably no one would be willing to make such an unprofitable deal.

Could it be that he simply couldn’t handle his alcohol well last night and got drunk?

Then why did Lena have that hesitant look before he fell into darkness…

It felt like falling into a loop with no beginning or end.

Yu Guang ground his molars against the soft flesh on the side of his tongue until he tasted a bit of blood before letting out a sigh.

The pain and the taste of blood acted as sharp reminders, awakening his mind. Yu Guang ran his hand through his hair roughly, pushed the door open, and stepped into the shower.

But suddenly, he seemed to catch something out of the corner of his eye, and his movements froze.

He stared at the huge floor-to-ceiling mirror unique to the romantic double rooms in the shower room, furrowing his brows deeply.

The mirror clearly reflected his naked body.

His gaze wandered inch by inch.

The side of his neck and earlobe, which felt the stabbing pain, seemed normal, but as soon as he turned slightly…

The vivid imprint of finger marks on his lower back couldn’t be ignored.

A man’s finger marks.

Clear and forceful.

One could almost sense the strong sense of violation in those marks when the person’s hands gripped his waist.

Yu Guang’s pupils contracted, and he suddenly reached back to rub his lower back.

Even after rubbing it until it turned red, the imprint of the finger marks remained.

As if telling him that last night was not simple.

Annoying.

The pounding of his heart was deafening.

Since entering university, Yu Guang had never felt so passive.

The urgency of the hidden enemy pressed against his chest, burning his heartstrings.

Turning up the water temperature, Yu Guang plunged into the steam rising with the shower.

The scalding hot water soaked him.

The steam blurred the huge and incomparable floor-to-ceiling mirror.

Regardless of the rushing water, Yu Guang opened his eyes slightly and ignored the stinging in his eye sockets, leaning his body sideways and stubbornly staring at the mirrored surface.

Grim and fierce, his eyes.

Until the mist blurred the image completely, making the finger marks on his lower back invisible, Yu Guang finally gritted his teeth and muttered.

“F*ck.”

Yu Guang: Mad, so annoying. Can’t believe someone even more messed up than me is messing with me?
