Chapter 10: Unexpected Fatherhood
A few days passed.
Early morning.
“Lu, wake up.”
Chen Lu was awakened by Li Sinian, rubbing his eyes and looking impatiently at the boy who was clinging to his bed.
Li Sinian, seeing Chen Lu awake, pushed his glasses with a somewhat embarrassed smile.
“Are you sick?” Chen Lu cursed.
It must be my sleeping position that’s wrong. Why would I dream of being woken up by a boy?
What bad luck.
Chen Lu was about to lie down and change positions when he was pushed up again by Li Sinian.
“What’s going on?” Chen Lu sat up straight.
He then picked up his phone and checked the time. It was only 7:15.
Why would a college student get up at seven when they don’t have classes?
“Help me out, like you did at the freshman orientation, you go help the club that’s preparing for the program.” Li Sinian said with a sincere attitude, “This centennial celebration will be even busier, I really can’t handle it.”
Chen Lu glanced at Jiang Chao, who was still sleeping, and lowered his voice, muttering, “Are you human? You’re asking someone who hasn’t gotten over his heartbreak to help.”
“Don’t be like that, otherwise you’ll fall back into the shadow of losing me.” Li Sinian looked really anxious, probably just received the notice.
This is clearly a fool who believed the saying that “student council is a good place to gain experience.”
Even if he becomes a cadre, he’s just a more cunning fool.
The two looked at each other for a while, Chen Lu blinked and slowly spoke, “Who are you? Why would I have a shadow of losing you?”
Seeing Li Sinian’s dejected face, Chen Lu smiled, “Call me something nice and I’ll help you.”
Although he said so, Chen Lu was still getting dressed and getting out of bed.
“Dad! I’ll treat you to seafood buffet, two meals!”
This son came too fast, it startled Chen Lu, “Damn, you’re serious?”
“I really can’t handle it, the school leaders keep coming up with new ideas.” Li Sinian sighed deeply.
“They told you to join the student council, they told you to prepare for the civil service exam, you’re dumbfounded. I don’t know where you heard that.” Chen Lu climbed out of bed and walked towards the bathroom to wash up. Li Sinian followed like a puppy, reminding him of things he needed to help with.
“Besides, I’m not doing too bad, am I?” Li Sinian retorted a little embarrassed.
Seeing Chen Lu brushing his teeth, he quickly covered his mouth.
Li Sinian smiled and helped Chen Lu make his bed, showering him with attention.
Only Jiang Chao was still in a daze in his dreams.
Although he was nice to everyone, being unreliable was a label he probably couldn’t shake off his whole life.
On the other hand, Chen Lu could handle anything well, so even the counselor often asked him for help.
Of course, they were never stingy with their expressions of gratitude.
For example, Chen Lu was the student who had the easiest time getting leave, no question.
……
In a very spacious lecture hall.
Looking at the dance club juniors whose movements were becoming more and more standardized, a smile first appeared on Mo Yuqing’s face, then quickly turned cloudy.
Slightly lost in thought.
Although she had quit the dance club in her sophomore year, she was still invited to guide the program they were preparing.
This 100th anniversary celebration seems to be attracting a lot of attention from all sides.
Mo Yuqing was wearing black thick tights, casually stretching her incredibly eye-catching long legs, looking at the few white clouds outside the window, her thoughts inexplicably went back to the past.
Besides studying, she was often forced by her mother to learn all sorts of miscellaneous things, guzheng, electronic piano, dance, math Olympiad…
But although it was busy and tiring, she always had Chen Lu by her side, who was always available at her beck and call, so she could barely make it through.
After each lesson, she would call Chen Lu out to play with her, and Chen Lu never refused.
When Chen Lu stayed in his hometown during the summer vacation, he would even take a three-hour bus ride in advance to wait for her at the entrance of the tutoring center.
But now it seems, something is different.
Why, out of the blue, did everything change?
Mo Yuqing couldn’t figure it out.
Looking at Liu Yan, who insisted on coming with her and was now happily watching dramas, she felt a mix of emotions.
“Take a break.” Mo Yuqing clapped her hands lightly, “Everyone has made progress, just keep practicing at this pace.”
As her clear and melodious voice fell, everyone finally gasped for breath and casually found a place to rest.
No one had any objections to Mo Yuqing’s guidance. After all, this senior was more beautiful than a star, and when she danced, she was incredibly lifelike, like someone who had walked out of a painting.
But they didn’t get too close to her, because Mo Yuqing was too arrogant, and there was an indescribable sense of distance when communicating with her.
Even though she bought everyone a very expensive dessert, everyone still felt a little awkward.
At this time, a junior with a ponytail walked up to her.
“Senior Yuqing, I don’t know why the props and sound equipment we ordered haven’t arrived yet, do you have any way to help us?” The girl looked a little downcast, as a freshman, she was quite concerned about this opportunity to perform in front of the whole school. “You were in the dance club before, and you’re the class monitor, so I thought I’d ask you…”
“I… I’ll try to figure something out.”
Mo Yuqing said helplessly, feeling quite distressed.
Although she held the title of class monitor, she was clueless about these things.
It was always Chen Lu who helped her…
Including the time she went on stage in her freshman year, she didn’t handle anything except the rehearsals and the performance, the rest was handled by Chen Lu.
The whole process was very smooth and easy.
Only now did she realize that there were so many complicated things to deal with.
“I want some milk tea, I’ll go buy some, what do you guys want?” Liu Yan saw that Mo Yuqing was a little troubled, and stepped in to change the subject.
“Don’t bother, Senior Liu Yan, my boyfriend said he’ll send me some.” The girl with the ponytail chuckled, her expression a bit proud.
Clearly a girl who’s been in love for a short time.
“That’s great, that saves me the trouble.”
Liu Yan finished speaking and sat back down next to Mo Yuqing, she didn’t have to buy it herself and she got free milk tea, she was happy.
I don’t know when it started, but buying milk tea for the girl next to your girlfriend has become a common practice.
Maybe because the “pillow talk” of girlfriends is really scary.
Boys dating have to support the whole dormitory, while they have to rely on their own dormitory to support them, that’s what it’s all about.
She’s really drunk a lot of milk tea bought by Chen Lu in the past three years.
Mo Yuqing didn’t respond to this, she was still absent-minded.
At that time, Chen Lu also brought a bunch of milk tea to her rehearsal place, after handing them out, he walked up to her and said softly with a smile, “This one with seven points of sugar is yours, I only asked him to add a little bit of coconut jelly.”
Then she would be treated like a princess who was exclusively loved by a prince from a fairy tale;
Attracting countless envious glances.
Not long after, the girl’s boyfriend arrived.
The boy looked around at the entrance, the girl saw her boyfriend and ran over quickly.
Then she discovered that he only brought one cup of milk tea.
Then she pulled her boyfriend out a few steps, blushing and annoyed.
As for whether she’ll remind him or argue, that remains to be seen.
Mo Yuqing watched this scene, a little amused.
Humph, so stupid. If it were Chen Lu, he would have asked in advance how many people were here.
Could it be that Chen Lu really is much better than others?
The next second, the proud smile that unconsciously rose on her face suddenly disappeared.
The girl realized that, no matter how good Chen Lu was, he no longer belonged to her.
Liu Yan naturally noticed her good friend’s strange mood, put her hand on her slender shoulder, wanting to say something.
“Yes, don’t be shy to ask, if you need anything later, just ask and borrow it, be polite and keep reminding them, the more shy you are to remind them, the more they’ll neglect you, but your attitude must be…”
Chen Lu carried the sound equipment and walked in with the vice president of the dance club, who was holding a bunch of clothes.
