Chapter 122: You’re Not as Handsome as Me
Liang Zhirou gently held onto Chen Lu’s arm, saying seriously, “But I’m so happy when I’m with you.”
How could she be any happier? She couldn’t imagine a better life. After all, she knew best how she had endured the hardships and pain before.
If there were days even happier than now, maybe it would be in the future.
Every day she spent with Chen Lu.
Girls always love to fantasize, especially when they have someone they like. After they got together, she often secretly fantasized about her future life with Chen Lu after they got married.
If Chen Lu was willing, she would drag him out to buy groceries every day, then act spoiled and ask him to carry things while she just held onto his arm; they would wake up together in the morning, and she could hug Chen Lu and stay in bed for a while; when she cured her mother’s illness, she would spend money to buy lots of new dresses, dress herself up beautifully, and only wear them during her period to make him jealous.
She would tell him to stop being a playboy.
It would be even better if they had a baby in the future. She just wondered if Chen Lu liked children…
He was so kind to his sister, so he should like them, right?
Thinking about it, she hugged Chen Lu’s arm tighter.
Chen Lu was both happy and speechless, and he tapped the girl’s head with a little force, “You’re too easily satisfied.”
Liang Zhirou didn’t bother to argue, closing her eyes and resting her head on Chen Lu’s shoulder, her eyes curved. Her entire weight leaned on him, and she loved this feeling, because Chen Lu would definitely support her.
So what if Chen Lu said she was hopeless? She just liked this feeling.
She felt like she was going to be spoiled by Chen Lu into a lazy fish.
“I’ve decided to make you experience life, just like you learned to smile back then,” Chen Lu said suddenly, “This is your next task, Liang Zhirou.”
“This is your first time going to the cinema with me, right?” he asked again.
“Yeah.”
“For a long time, I’m going to take you to see all sorts of things you haven’t experienced,” Chen Lu said seriously. He didn’t care if it was awkward to say this, he just had to forget about it after he said it.
This silly girl had never lived like a normal girl, never shopped for clothes because she liked them, never experienced the feeling of putting on makeup at the most curious age, and never hung out with a group of friends to chat or travel.
Her world was too small, even the cinema was her first time just recently.
Although some experiences would never be the same after that age, he still wanted to make up for them all, even if it was a bit late.
Liang Zhirou looked at Chen Lu sideways, blinking her eyes in a daze, “How long will it take?”
She always felt that Chen Lu would use the excuse ‘This is part of the plan’ to trick her again, just like when they first met.
Well, then I’ll just pretend to fall for it! Who told me I was smarter than you?
The girl thought to herself.
Then she saw Chen Lu raise his head and think for a while, his face serious, “A lifetime.”
……
A long time later, Chen Lu and Liang Zhirou discovered a very, very serious problem –
They both had decision paralysis.
Chen Lu felt that it didn’t matter where he went, he would just follow Liang Zhirou.
Coincidentally, Liang Zhirou thought the same way.
The two of them fell into a strange loop of “Where do you want to go?” “It’s up to you, I’m fine with anything.” “I’m fine with anything too, you decide.”
The root cause was that in their eyes, it didn’t really matter where they went, as long as they were together.
A few minutes later, Chen Lu couldn’t take it anymore, so he simply said, “Let’s roll the dice.”
He was about to open WeChat and send the dice emoji, but then he saw Chen Mo posting a moment on his WeChat Moments.
Don’t ask why he could click on Moments from a message, it’s because of all the red dots and the fact that he could only live one more time.
The photo showed Lin Miaomiao cosplaying Butterfly Ninja, and judging from the people around them wearing different clothes, they were probably at a Comic Con.
“Let’s go catch them,” Chen Lu suddenly said with a smile. Hangcheng couldn’t possibly have two Comic Cons at the same time, they could just check to see where they were.
Liang Zhirou heard the navigation broadcast saying it was a one-hour drive, and she suddenly hesitated, “Isn’t that taking too much time?”
“Don’t ask why, just be happy. Don’t you want to see Lin Miaomiao’s surprised expression when she sees you?”
What else can people live for if not for fun?
“I want to see…” Liang Zhirou said honestly.
She also thought it was quite fun to suddenly run over and scare Lin Miaomiao.
Chen Lu nodded, “Then it’s worth me driving for an hour. Let’s go.”
…
As soon as they walked into the venue, they saw people in all sorts of strange clothes walking around, chatting and laughing.
This was definitely the place with the most social butterflies. You could randomly pull someone over for a photo, and they would be happy to cooperate with a high probability.
However, this was Chen Lu’s first time at a comic convention, and he found it quite refreshing.
Liang Zhirou looked a little nervous at the sight of the crowd, holding Chen Lu’s hand tightly, “I haven’t found Miaomiao, should I send her a message?”
Chen Lu frowned, “Are you stupid? If you send her a message, she’ll know you’re here.”
“I can ask her to take a picture for me, it’s easier to find her that way.” The girl whispered, but got no response for a long time.
She turned her head to see Chen Lu making an exaggerated expression, staring at her with wide eyes, “You… have you gotten smarter?”
“Ah! Don’t bump into me, it hurts!”
While waiting for Lin Miaomiao’s message, Chen Lu, like an old man, held his waist and held Liang Zhirou’s hand, strolling around.
Seeing someone cosplaying Kamen Rider, Chen Lu happily ran up to take a photo, and Liang Zhirou smiled and took two pictures for him.
She thought Chen Lu was cute when he was childish. After taking the pictures, she put them in the album she specifically created for Chen Lu.
After all, it hadn’t been that long, so Chen Lu’s appearance in these photos hadn’t changed at all, but his identity had completely changed from the beginning.
He was a friend before, then a not-so-innocent friend, and now he was her boyfriend.
“Don’t be silly, is Kamen Rider that handsome?” Chen Lu laughed at her.
“My boyfriend is handsome.”
Liang Zhirou snorted in dissatisfaction, even though her eyes had been on Chen Lu the whole time.
“Hiss… If you’re going to praise me, praise me more.”
This time it was Chen Lu’s turn to be silly.
He didn’t know if it was because couples rarely came to comic conventions, but Chen Lu felt like he was being watched by countless icy gazes along the way.
It was as if they were going to devour him alive.
“So this is what it’s like to be a mainstream person.”
Chen Lu muttered to himself.
“It’s pretty good.”
As they were walking, they suddenly saw a girl in cosplay clothes walking towards them, her arm linked with her boyfriend’s.
“Do you like this?” Liang Zhirou asked softly, she always felt like Chen Lu liked this kind of thing, he just wasn’t comfortable mentioning it.
After all, he had wanted to trick her into wearing traditional clothes before.
“I didn’t see it.” Chen Lu said immediately, afraid that this silly girl would fish for information.
“……I know you didn’t see it.”
“Aren’t you scared to go out in these clothes?” Chen Lu laughed and looked at her, knowing that this silly girl wouldn’t even dare to show her calves outside.
“Of course I’m scared.” The girl said naturally.
“Why do you say that if you’re scared?” Chen Lu found it strange, this silly girl’s brain circuit was always different.
Liang Zhirou continued to hold his arm and said seriously to him:
“Because I like you even more than you think.”
