Chapter 128: Liang Zhirou, You’re Domestic Violence
The next morning.
As soon as Chen Lu opened his eyes, still groggy from the alarm, he saw a pair of beautiful eyes staring at him.
He was so taken aback that he didn’t even have time to be startled. His brain was captivated by the girl’s appearance before any fear could set in.
He was still a degenerate.
Seeing Chen Lu open his eyes, Liang Zhirou, who had been squatting by the bed secretly watching him, quickly stood up. She looked around nervously, avoiding his gaze.
“Didn’t you sleep well?” she asked, changing the subject.
Chen Lu sat up, clutching his head. “Last night, a female thug took advantage of me and then left. I was so angry I couldn’t sleep.”
It turned out that goodnight kisses were not suitable for couples still in the honeymoon phase. They caused insomnia.
“It’s… it’s not like that.” Liang Zhirou was a little flustered.
How could kissing her boyfriend be considered a female thug?
“Why do you say ‘it’s not like that’ instead of ‘it’s not true?'” Chen Lu raised an eyebrow, smiling mischievously at her. “Are you admitting to your actions last night?”
Liang Zhirou didn’t want to say anything. This guy was so bad, he was better when he was asleep.
If only Chen Lu were a little bit dumber, she could repay him in kind.
After a few seconds, she slowly sat down on the edge of the bed and began to massage Chen Lu’s eyes.
“Hurry up and let me get my revenge,” Chen Lu said.
Liang Zhirou’s actions and tone were gentle. “It’s morning now, there are a lot of people around.”
“I’m sorry.” The girl looked at Chen Lu’s dark circles and said apologetically.
Chen Lu looked unconcerned. “It’s okay, it’s not entirely your fault. Jiang Chao called me to play chess late last night, he’s at least half to blame.”
Last night, he couldn’t catch a single three-star five-cost card in his final game. He was missing one card, and it just wouldn’t come. He couldn’t sleep, and after that game, he couldn’t sleep even more.
Liang Zhirou pouted in a pitiful way, feeling like she had been needlessly guilty for half a day.
Still, she diligently rubbed Chen Lu’s eyes, and only when she left did she bite his hand.
Chen Lu looked at the faint tooth mark on his right hand in bewilderment, blinking slowly. Finally, he smiled slightly.
It didn’t hurt at all, this silly girl couldn’t bear to use force.
But… did this count as domestic violence?
Chen Lu was still in a daze when a group of doctors in white coats walked into the ward.
He followed them in.
“Don’t be too nervous, just relax,” said the taller doctor.
Seeing Chen Lu enter, he turned his head. “You’re Guanglin’s son, right? Do you remember me?”
“Uncle, hello.”
Chen Lu immediately greeted him with a smile, but he really couldn’t recognize him.
As long as he didn’t say he remembered or didn’t remember, smiling and greeting him like this would likely make people think he remembered.
Anyway, most people wouldn’t ask further.
“At such a young age, you can already earn so much money. You’re more successful than your father,” the doctor said with a smile. Then he glanced at Liang Zhirou, who was organizing her things. “You two have good taste.”
Liang Zhirou tilted her head, but the tension of her mother’s upcoming surgery made her unable to think further.
After giving some brief instructions and chatting with Chen Lu for a few moments, the doctors turned and left.
As soon as the last one left, a girl slipped in through the gap, looking mischievous.
Xiao Xunfang was taken aback for a moment, then said, “Miao Miao is here?”
Before she met Chen Lu, Liang Zhirou only had one friend, Lin Miaomiao, who had also eaten at her house, so Xiao Xunfang had a deep impression of her.
“Okay, I’ll come see you.” Lin Miaomiao smiled, revealing her signature tiger teeth.
“Why didn’t you go home this summer?”
Her smile vanished, replaced by resentment towards Chen Lu for making her work overtime last night. “Because I’m working under Chen Lu.”
Actually, overtime wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was seeing your boss online playing games while you were working late at night.
“You guys are really making a big deal out of it.”
Xiao Xunfang said in surprise. She didn’t understand much about companies, and Liang Zhirou hadn’t mentioned Chen Lu starting a company much.
It was only when Chen Lu solemnly said he would pay for everything that she understood the basics.
Chen Lu’s family was far richer than she imagined, and Chen Lu was far more capable than she thought.
She vaguely remembered everyone saying that rich men in the city were all bad, constantly changing wives and keeping mistresses. Her impression of these types of men came from watching the TV drama “Return of the Condor Heroes,” where Hong Shixian was a bad guy.
She unconsciously glanced at Chen Lu, who was arguing with Liang Zhirou over work, then a genuine smile appeared on her face.
My son-in-law wouldn’t do that.
…
Around 8:30 pm, the nurse came in to prepare to wheel Xiao Xunfang to surgery.
Liang Zhirou, already nervous, became even more so. It was as if she was the one having surgery. Xiao Xunfang didn’t seem to react much, but Liang Zhirou’s face turned pale.
She held Xiao Xunfang’s hand tightly, only slowly releasing it at the door. Then, she felt like she had lost all her strength and her hand hung limply.
She trembled slightly.
The next second, Chen Lu’s hand tightly grasped hers.
Liang Zhirou froze for a moment, then turned her head to look at Chen Lu. He smiled gently at her and said, “It’s okay, I’m here.”
“Be mindful of the impact, be mindful of the impact.”
Lin Miaomiao snorted and pushed them towards the operating room door.
Outside the operating room, the door was tightly shut.
Since no outsiders would come here, it was eerily quiet.
Only the bright green light constantly emitting from the sign that read “Surgery in Progress” emitted a faint buzzing sound.
Chen Lu sat quietly on a metal bench, his hand resting on his chin, lost in thought.
Everyone else could be nervous, but not him.
Lin Miaomiao and Liang Zhirou sat beside him, both looking anxious.
Seeing Chen Lu’s calm demeanor, Liang Zhirou felt a bit relieved, even a little dazed. This was the first time in her life that she realized how comforting it was to have someone to rely on.
For her, who had always been busy with various things on her own, this feeling was even more pronounced.
As she was lost in thought, she saw Chen Lu winking at her in a greasy way.
It was clearly intentional.
The girl also responded with a tearful smile, but it was inevitably a little stiff and distorted.
“You should take her out for a walk. It’s just waiting here, I can watch over her alone.” Lin Miaomiao suddenly said in a bad mood.
Unexpectedly, Chen Lu stood up as soon as she finished speaking.
“I was just waiting for you to say that.”
He then extended his right hand towards Liang Zhirou, smiling.
“Don’t be so tense, I’ll take you to a good place.”
