Chapter 159: Mature People Learn to Lie
“What are you panicking about?” Chen Lu found the girl’s flustered appearance amusing.
It was as if they had actually done something.
Oh, it was like they had done something a little inappropriate…
Liang Zhirou took two deep breaths, her small hand trembling as she pressed the answer button.
“Hello, Mom.” Her voice was almost inaudible, her right hand clutching the hem of her clothes, constantly fidgeting.
A kind voice came from the phone, “Nier, what are you doing?”
The girl thought for a long time but couldn’t think of what to say, making Xiao Xunfang think her phone was stuck.
After calling out a few times on the other end, she hurriedly said, “I’m just about to go buy food…”
“How is Miaomiao?”
Liang Zhirou paused, “Miaomiao, she… she’s fine.”
Xiao Xunfang sighed, “I saw on Baidu that this illness requires surgery. Sigh, this poor child, she’s sick and her family isn’t around.”
“I heard this disease is very painful when it flares up. Take good care of her.” She added.
Liang Zhirou opened her mouth slightly, “Ah, it’s painful…”
A few seconds later, she saw the words Chen Lu typed on his phone, and without thinking, she unconsciously read them out: “It hurt her so much that she cried all night, she kept rolling… rolling around.”
She stopped halfway through, realizing something was wrong, but she didn’t know how to cover it up, so she could only close her eyes and finish the sentence. After finishing, she quickly glared at Chen Lu, both embarrassed and annoyed.
Why didn’t this guy miss any opportunity to bully her?
Chen Lu couldn’t help but laugh, biting his lip hard to suppress it.
He felt that his lips were more painful than Lin Miaomiao’s.
Lin Miaomiao officially became a useful tool in his mind, just like Jiang Chao.
Xiao Xunfang gave a few more instructions and hung up the phone. Liang Zhirou finally relaxed. It was as if she had just finished an 800-meter run, and she slumped onto the bed weakly.
This silly girl clearly didn’t know how to lie, her speech was hesitant, and her cheeks were slightly flushed.
Liang Zhirou took a deep breath, lay down on her back, and then, feeling a little wronged, she leaned on Chen Lu.
“I feel like I’ve become a bad kid…”
“Congratulations on becoming a mature adult, the kind who stays out all night without telling their parents.” Chen Lu continued to tease her.
For some reason, Chen Lu didn’t feel anything about it before, but now he suddenly felt a little excited.
“You’re the one saying that!” Liang Zhirou bit his shoulder, then buried her face in his neck, “You’ve corrupted me.”
Although she just didn’t want Xiao Xunfang to worry so she didn’t go back, she still felt like she had done something wrong.
Her cheeks were really hot, she didn’t know if it was because of shyness or a cold.
Chen Lu didn’t care, “If you’re not going to be corrupt with me, who else are you going to be corrupt with? I advise you to give up struggling early, you’re destined to be corrupted by my evil self.”
He was about to pick up his phone to check the time when he saw a call from his mother.
This time, he sat up with a start, startling Liang Zhirou.
However, Chen Lu didn’t answer immediately, but waited a little longer, then asked in a groggy voice, “Mom, what are you doing so early? You woke me up in the middle of my sleep.”
Compared to Liang Zhirou’s hesitant speech, he lied without changing his expression or heart rate, the main point was that he was effortless.
Wang Xiaoxia’s voice was very excited, “Your dad said you’re going to give a speech at school at the end of the month? Is it true?”
“Of course it’s true, the school doesn’t even provide a speech draft, I’ve been losing my hair worrying about it these past two days.”
“Not bad, not bad.” Wang Xiaoxia chuckled in praise.
“You haven’t been this excited even when your son earned millions,” Chen Lu said disdainfully. Before he could finish, he felt Liang Zhirou’s hand sneakily placed on his waist, seemingly ready to tickle him at any moment.
Frightened, Chen Lu quickly gave her a pleading look. Seeing it wasn’t working, he glared at the girl “fiercely.”
This finally had some deterrent effect.
“You just don’t understand,” Wang Xiaoxia said smugly. “When you earn millions, I can’t brag about it openly. This is different. When the movie comes out, all your aunts and uncles will know.”
Chen Lu was about to speak, but Liang Zhirou’s hand still went for the tickle, making him roll to the side.
“What are you laughing at?” Wang Xiaoxia asked curiously.
“I’m definitely happy to be able to brag a little.”
Chen Lu said as he tightly grabbed Liang Zhirou’s hand, preventing her from causing any more trouble.
Seeing her hand restrained, Liang Zhirou simply rubbed her head against his waist. Chen Lu reached out to block her head, and the girl’s hand took the opportunity to escape. Chen Lu could only put the phone aside and use both hands to subdue the silly girl.
The two of them were wrestling and giggling, making rustling sounds.
Chen Lu was speechless. This silly girl wouldn’t learn from him, but she sure learned how to hold a grudge.
To add insult to injury, the problem on the other end of the phone continued.
“I’m not working today, I’ll come over to your place later.”
Chen Lu pretended to be calm. “It’s not like I haven’t sent you videos before. What’s so special about it?”
“Why, you can’t let your mom come over to your place?”
Wang Xiaoxia joked. “You wouldn’t be hiding someone in your room, would you?”
“Whatever, come if you want.” Chen Lu simply went along with Wang Xiaoxia. After all, his mom was fickle. You agree to her, and she might lose interest later.
The more you refuse, the more she wants to come. Maybe she’ll even suspect you’re hiding someone in your room.
Liang Zhirou sat beside Chen Lu like a duck, her fingers constantly tapping on the screen. Finally, she showed him the words she typed.
“Are you a pig? Nod your head and I’ll let you go.”
Chen Lu gritted his teeth and grabbed the girl’s wrist. “Mom, I’ll hang up. My phone didn’t charge last night.”
He immediately hung up the phone and threw it aside.
He couldn’t be controlled by a silly girl, could he?
Liang Zhirou obviously didn’t expect this situation. She stared at him blankly, then lowered her head and said sincerely, “I know I was wrong…”
Chen Lu gave her an innocent smile.
…
After a while, Chen Lu took the initiative to take over breakfast duty and walked out of the room. Liang Zhirou sat on the bed, pulling down her collar to cover the strawberry mark on her collarbone. She looked at the messages on her phone while tidying her somewhat messy hair.
Lin Miaomiao: Tell me everything. What exactly happened last night?
Liang Zhirou: Nothing happened.
Lin Miaomiao: Zhirou, you’ve changed. You never lied to me before.
Liang Zhirou: I’m really not lying.
Lin Miaomiao: Just that? The organization is very disappointed in you!
