Chapter 33: The Most Powerful in the World
“Damn it, Chen Lu, why did you drink so much?” Jiang Chao scolded.
Chen Lu slowly stood up, shook his head, and asked him back, “Why did you drink so much yesterday?”
Jiang Chao was taken aback, “I was in a bad mood.”
“I’m in a bad mood too.”
Hearing this, Jiang Chao originally wanted to pull him down to let him experience what it meant to suffer, but seeing Chen Lu’s heavy expression, he gave up.
He could only scratch his head curiously and sit on his own bed.
The dormitory was still curtained, with only a few rays of morning light piercing through the gap, falling on the ground.
Jiang Chao silently gazed at the light spots on the ground, continuing to think about his own things.
Chen Lu picked up his phone, said good morning to Liang Zhirou, and asked casually what kind of filling her buns were.
Then he suddenly discovered something new.
Mo Yuqing also sent him a good morning message.
He thought about it and simply pretended not to see it.
It’s not like he could just forget about it, they grew up together and he had liked her for so long.
But to say whether he wanted to go back to the way things were, he really didn’t.
Now that he thought about it, some people would feel tired after being together for seven years, and he had persisted in pursuing her for seven years… it was quite abstract.
“Hey, have you made up your mind? I’m not really asking you to work for me, you don’t have to worry too much.”
Jiang Chao interrupted his thoughts, “If you don’t like that way of saying it, as long as you want to, I’ll work with you, but in that case, you’ll have to invest some money, otherwise it won’t look right to those other people who work for us.”
It wouldn’t be realistic if everyone was brought in by him and Chen Lu didn’t code or do art, but was on the same level as him, the one who invested the most.
He might not care, but others would definitely not be able to stand it, and then they wouldn’t be on the same page.
Although Jiang Chao was like a whimsical child, constantly trying to get Chen Lu on board, his heart was actually as clear as a mirror.
Chen Lu looked at him in shock, making sure he wasn’t dreaming before he said, “Wow! You’re actually serious?”
“Serious.” Jiang Chao met his gaze, his eyes firm.
“I’ll think about it.”
“What are you afraid of?” Jiang Chao looked around, making sure there was no one else in the dorm before continuing, “Over the years, it’s only you and me who are the closest, you don’t trust me?”
Chen Lu did trust him. Back then, his account was hacked, and the scammer sent out mass messages asking for money.
In no time, Jiang Chao ran to him with his bank card, panting and saying that there was 50,000 yuan in it, which he had just asked his dad for.
He was dumb, he chose to give the money to him in person.
He was smart, he actually believed it.
Seeing that Chen Lu didn’t say anything, Jiang Chao slapped his thigh and lay down on the bed, “Alright, I’ll make three visits to your humble abode. I have to get you, this Zhuge Liang, on board.”
“It’s not that I don’t trust you. Why do you want to trick me into joining?” Chen Lu was genuinely curious.
“What do you mean trick! Of course it’s because I trust you.” Jiang Chao said seriously, “Only you don’t know your own strengths. I even talked about this with my girlfriend in private, and even she had no objections. You really know more than all of us, you just lowered yourself too much when you were chasing Mo Yuqing…”
His tone became serious, “You should look up at yourself.”
“Got it.”
Chen Lu nodded and continued to pack his things to go out.
“Have you seen Chinese Partners?” He pulled open the door and smiled mischievously at Jiang Chao.
“Yes, why?”
“Never go into business with your best friend!” Chen Lu was already at the door, joking.
Looking at the closed door, Jiang Chao still couldn’t help but curse, “Go to hell!”
“I’m waiting for you!”
……
Chen Lu arrived at the playground, ready to watch the drama club’s final rehearsal.
Tomorrow was the school anniversary, they practiced during the day and had to rehearse on the stage they built at night.
He had a little more respect for these social phobic terrorists.
At least they were a group of social phobic terrorists with dreams. The school didn’t have any extra space, so they rehearsed on the playground under the scorching sun.
When Chen Lu arrived, Liang Zhirou had been waiting there for a long time, which surprised him. This seemed to be the first time he had come so late.
Maybe because it was the last day of the drama club’s rehearsal for this program, the girl didn’t stay in her usual place but moved to the front, quietly watching them perform.
Lin Miaomiao stood beside her, with a very satisfied smile on her face.
Seeing Chen Lu’s figure, Liang Zhirou immediately ran to him, handing him the breakfast she had brought.
But the smell of alcohol made the girl frown.
“Y-you should drink less alcohol in the future…”
After Liang Zhirou finished speaking, she realized that she had unconsciously grabbed Chen Lu’s arm, and quickly let go.
Even though the girl was very shy, she didn’t step back, she still stubbornly stood there, looking at Chen Lu with a bit of stubbornness, waiting for his answer.
“Okay.” Chen Lu found it amusing and agreed with a smile.
This silly girl was so shy and still insisted on looking at him, it was simply adorable.
Hearing this, the girl quickly lowered her head, feeling her cheeks burn.
Then Chen Lu ate his breakfast while accompanying Liang Zhirou to watch these social phobic terrorists rehearse.
Chen Lu was a little surprised.
It was true, they were getting better and better, their acting skills alone were not like college students.
They were way better than many young actors.
It could be seen from Liang Zhirou’s focused gaze.
After one run-through, a boy wearing glasses came over to greet Chen Lu enthusiastically.
Although his hairstyle had changed and he was wearing a tunic suit, Chen Lu recognized him, the one who wrote the script.
“Your look is quite unique.” Chen Lu joked.
The boy smiled, seeing Liang Zhirou, who was tightly clinging to Chen Lu and lowering her head, he thought for a moment before deciding not to say anything.
Instead, he said, “Senior, you must come and watch. In a way, you have a part in this too.”
Chen Lu was puzzled, “What does that have to do with me?”
“The script, we didn’t have any experience, and we didn’t have a thorough understanding of modern history, so it was too detailed. The version we revised with you, even our instructor thought it was good!”
It seemed that people who liked this kind of thing took it very seriously, the boy smiled happily.
Chen Lu saw from the corner of his eye that Liang Zhirou, who was shy beside him, looked proud after hearing this, and smiled, “Okay.”
“Then I’ll continue rehearsing!”
……
Looking at these people who were sweating for their dreams, Chen Lu quietly thought about what Jiang Chao had said to him.
“Liang Zhirou.” Chen Lu called out, and the girl immediately turned her head to look at him.
She didn’t ask what he wanted to do, she patiently prepared to listen.
“Could it be that I actually have a lot of advantages?”
Chen Lu asked seriously.
“Yeah.” Liang Zhirou nodded slightly, timidly saying, “Many…”
Although the girl didn’t dare to look at him again, her tone was very serious.
That’s how she really felt.
Chen Lu, like a ray of light shining into her life, Chen Lu who stood up for her twice, Chen Lu who would say ‘I’m here’ to her…
He was truly the most powerful person she had ever met.
