Chapter 53: Support
Although he had closed his eyes and rested for a while, Chen Lu wouldn’t take a nap.
He still had to wait to wake Liang Zhirou up.
It wasn’t because he couldn’t resist looking at such a beautiful and innocent girl sleeping beside him.
Chen Lu nodded, having to praise his honesty.
What is a gentleman?
As the time approached, the cool breeze stopped, and the air became stuffy.
Chen Lu gently pinched the girl’s cheek, which was soft and plump.
“Wake up, I’ll take you,” he said softly.
Liang Zhirou got up groggily, her cheek still had a red mark from where she had been lying on it.
She stared blankly for a while, then rubbed her eyes.
After a few more seconds, she finally realized what was happening.
Seeing Chen Lu still looking at her, she quickly turned her gaze away, feeling a little embarrassed.
“Sit up and wake up. I’m afraid someone will kidnap you and put you in a sack, and I didn’t go buy you water.” Chen Lu said with a light laugh. “I’ll take you later.”
Then he remembered that he had a class in the afternoon. He felt a little nervous for a second, then dismissed it.
He would skip it if he had to.
No one would skip class in their junior year, right? Right?
Liang Zhirou quickly shook her head, “No, I can’t.”
“Why?” Chen Lu asked curiously.
“You have class.”
Chen Lu was stunned, “How did you know?”
“You sent me your schedule for this week…” Liang Zhirou looked at him seriously.
Chen Lu shrugged and got off the stone table.
It seemed he couldn’t take her after all.
He stood beside the girl and spoke slowly:
“Listen to me, take today’s money and don’t do it anymore. I’ll help you find students who need tutoring.
Then we’ll both be con artists… that’s not right.
Then I’ll go and tell my acquaintances who are anxious about their children, “Your child is at a crucial stage.”
Then you can just be a tutor.”
Chen Lu smiled slyly.
But it wasn’t really a scam. Chen Mo had seriously said that Liang Zhirou was a good tutor when she wasn’t nervous.
His mother knew many colleagues who were desperate to get their children extra lessons.
Liang Zhirou was using the lowest price in the industry to undercut everyone. It was a win-win situation.
But he would definitely have to raise the price later. He couldn’t charge Chen Mo 200 yuan an hour and then charge others 200 yuan an hour, could he?
Thinking about this, Chen Lu poked Liang Zhirou’s cheek angrily.
“Teacher Liang, I hope you can repeatedly tell yourself that tutoring for an hour can earn you the same amount as your other part-time jobs for a whole day, okay?”
Liang Zhirou softly “oh”ed, a little unsure.
She had actually gone to apply for a tutoring job these past two days, but was politely rejected every time.
It was only then that she realized that Chen Mo was really, really cooperating with her.
She also realized how much Chen Lu had done for her part-time job, inside and out. Otherwise, his parents and Chen Mo wouldn’t have accepted her so easily…
Other parents were so strict in their assessments, asking questions like they were checking her background.
Just as Liang Zhirou was thinking about this in a bit of a depressed mood, Chen Lu suddenly patted her shoulder.
“Don’t be nervous, I won’t find parents and children who are bad people. You’ll just be a little more troublesome than teaching Chen Mo, I promise, just a little bit. Don’t worry.
Or… if you don’t like this kind of job that requires socializing, you can tell me.
I support you.”
Liang Zhirou nodded slightly and whispered, “Thank you… I don’t dislike it.”
Chen Lu’s words made a warm feeling surge through her heart. If she hadn’t noticed that Chen Lu was looking at her, she really would have turned her head away and taken a deep breath.
Don’t say things that make people breathless so easily…
“Thank you is too cheap, shouldn’t you repay me?” Chen Lu said impatiently, thinking that he didn’t come here to hear her say thank you.
“How, how do I repay you?” The girl looked up at him, revealing a large expanse of white, smooth neck and the gap in her T-shirt collar.
Maybe because she had been sleeping on her stomach, it was a little sweaty.
Chen Lu retracted his gaze, which was not at all gentlemanly, and looked directly into the girl’s confused eyes.
“Then you smile.”
“Smile?” Liang Zhirou tilted her head slightly, even more confused.
He helped her so much, and the reward was just to see her smile?
“Yes, I said, I’ve never seen you smile.” Chen Lu’s expression became serious.
Liang Zhirou took a deep breath and looked at Chen Lu.
Then, she slightly curled the corners of her mouth.
“…” Chen Lu sighed, “Too stiff, it scares me.”
“Maybe the moment you’re happy has passed. Try again next time you’re happy.”
Liang Zhirou picked up her phone and looked at her own reflection.
It did seem a bit strange…
Then Chen Lu asked again, “Are you feeling unwell? I feel like your complexion has been bad all day.”
“No.”
Chen Lu looked at the girl nervously fiddling with her fingers, and sighed helplessly.
…
After Liang Zhirou went to her part-time job, Chen Lu also went back to the classroom obediently.
“University Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice”
That was the content of this class.
He heard that most schools offer this course, but some don’t. Chen Lu didn’t know either.
But he didn’t care that much anyway. He had been sleeping through most of these recent classes.
Many groups in the class had very abstract topics, such as helping to plan a flower shop for confessions and marriage proposals, or a host game experience center.
Anyway, they didn’t have to spend any money to think about it, so there was nothing they wouldn’t dare to think about.
In short, this kind of class was just going through the motions. The online courses they had to take were the same. Most people just hung there and continued to play games.
The four people in Chen Lu’s dorm still sat in the same row without fail.
As soon as he sat down, he heard Jiang Chao and Li Sinian whispering.
“I’ve said it, a stable job is the best, at least it’s stable. You should quickly prepare for the civil service exam with me.” Li Sinian said seriously.
Jiang Chao rolled his eyes at him, “It’s not that easy, you’re only seeing the good parts.”
Then he added, “Just like you can only see Qin Wenxi’s good points.”
Li Sinian was speechless, thinking that his brothers were all trying to stop him from chasing a girl. He said helplessly, “Brother, you’re not being funny.”
“I also think you’re wrong.” Chen Lu agreed.
Jiang Chao turned his head and glared at him, “Where am I wrong!”
“Anyway, I don’t see any good points about that girl.”
“Hahahahahaha.”
As they were laughing, Chen Lu saw that the girl sitting in front of Jiang Chao was Liu Yan.
Several girls were chatting together.
“Yan Yan, where’s Yuqing?”
“She’s not feeling well, she’s taking a leave of absence.”
“Oh, okay…”
“Our counselor is really too ridiculous. He made it so difficult to get a leave of absence. We have another class after this one, I have to wait until evening to see her.” Liu Yan was getting angrier and angrier.
Chen Lu sighed deeply, “Forget it, I won’t make fun of him anymore. Who hasn’t been head over heels for an unattainable girl? Setbacks will teach him for us.”
Jiang Chao was unconvinced and said loudly, “Don’t include me, I wasn’t like that when I was young.”
“What were you like when you were young?” Chen Lu continued to ask.
“I was a sea king when I was young, okay? Girls were lining up to chase me!”
Chen Lu nodded and said to Liu Yan, “Liu Yan, did you hear that?”
The girl in front didn’t turn around, she just said three words, “I heard.”
Jiang Chao was stunned, the other three were laughing like fools, almost out of breath.
Chen Lu had just recovered when he saw a new message on his phone.
[Xiao Lu, it’s your Aunt Xiao, Zhirou fainted at her part-time job. The hospital just notified me, but you know my situation, can you please go and check on her?
I’m trying to get there. ]
By the time Chen Lu realized what was happening, he had already stood up.
The students and teachers in the class were all staring at him blankly.
“Teacher! My stomach hurts!!”
