Chapter 69: The Most Useless Age
Chen Lu, of course, didn’t know that he had almost been caught by his mother. He was driving leisurely.
He had originally planned to let Liang Zhirou continue to sit in the passenger seat, but before he could say anything, Liang Zhirou was taken to the back seat by Chen Mo.
Chen Lu couldn’t confront his sister on the spot and could only secretly hold a grudge in his heart.
Sooner or later, he would find an opportunity to make his mother buy her more problems to solve. How could a high school student be so free?
“You two hurry up and decide what to eat,” Chen Lu reminded them, “Otherwise, I’ll just take you to eat a bowl of noodles.”
The more Chen Mo listened, the more awkward she felt, “Is that because I’m here?”
“Yes,” Chen Lu didn’t intend to hide his thoughts at all.
She had no self-awareness as a light bulb, and she dared to ask. She was asking for humiliation.
Liang Zhirou listened to the bickering between the siblings and secretly smiled in her heart. She said to Chen Mo, “What do you want to eat? We can eat anything.”
“Thank you, Sister Zhirou, I’m already full,” Chen Mo said after being stunned for a moment.
What’s going on? Why are you already saying “we, we” with my brother?
What did you two do when I wasn’t around?
“Ah? Did you come back after eating?” Liang Zhirou was a little surprised, suddenly feeling that all the thoughts she had about what the siblings liked to eat were in vain.
She had been planning to treat them well. Recently, she had been working hard, but she had also earned a lot of money.
“No, I mean I’m full of your dog food,” Chen Mo hugged Liang Zhirou’s arm like a sloth.
She felt that this future sister-in-law competitor was sometimes really silly and cute.
Liang Zhirou immediately turned her head away and said softly, “Don’t talk nonsense.”
“Hurry up and say what you want to eat.”
Chen Lu interrupted Chen Mo’s topic. He was already in a heated argument, and this stupid sister was messing things up.
For this silly and self-conscious girl, being too aggressive would have the opposite effect. She might be more reluctant to accept her feelings the more she tried to face them.
If she really liked him, she might also suppress her feelings because she was afraid of dragging him into the mud.
She was under too much pressure right now.
She hadn’t lived for herself even for a day.
“Let’s go eat barbecue!” Chen Mo made a foolish suggestion.
“You don’t get to decide,” Chen Lu mercilessly reprimanded, while looking at Liang Zhirou’s reaction from the rearview mirror.
Liang Zhirou let Chen Mo hold her, and said softly, “Just listen to Chen Mo, I’m fine with anything.”
She didn’t dislike being like this, after all, she didn’t have many friends. She already felt very happy that someone was willing to treat her like this.
Since meeting Chen Lu, she had been happy every day, as if she were dreaming, making her afraid that she would wake up someday.
If she woke up and found that it was all a dream, she would definitely cry for a long time…
The girl looked at the scenery outside the window that was constantly rushing backward, thinking quietly, occasionally glancing at Chen Lu’s profile.
It seemed that this would give her a little peace of mind.
Besides her mother, this handsome and gentle boy was already her whole world.
Her whole life.
She stared at Chen Lu’s profile for a while, and a feeling of sadness suddenly welled up in her heart, making her feel short of breath.
She couldn’t control her feelings anymore.
But that was not something she deserved to desire right now.
Chen Lu’s figure became increasingly blurry in the girl’s eyes. She bit her lower lip hard, her eyes filled with grievance and unwillingness.
She was afraid that by the time she had no psychological burden, she would have already missed Chen Lu.
Why… why did I meet you at the most useless age of my life?
“Sister Zhirou, what’s wrong? Did my brother bully you?” Chen Mo turned her head and saw Liang Zhirou’s teary eyes, and asked anxiously.
She quickly took out a tissue and held it in her hand, hitting the driver’s seat in front of her hard, “Brother! Sister Zhirou is so good to you, and you still bully her. Are you even human?”
Chen Lu frowned and looked at them through the mirror. If it hadn’t been for the fact that it was inconvenient to park nearby, he would have stopped the car to see what was wrong with Liang Zhirou.
“You really don’t trust me at all?!” Chen Lu said helplessly. He couldn’t think of anything he had done wrong, even if he racked his brains.
He was even starting to recall all the bad things he had done since he was a child.
“Who else could it be besides you? Could it be me bullying her?”
“Sister Zhirou, don’t be afraid, we will never bow to evil forces!” Chen Mo looked into her eyes and said, “I will definitely call my parents to hang him up and beat him. I will take a video for you to watch later.”
“He didn’t bully me.” Liang Zhirou wiped her eyes with a tissue. Even if she was silly, she could tell that Chen Mo was teasing her. She smiled slightly and said, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
Why think so much? It’s embarrassing…
Chen Mo thought for a moment, “Maybe she wants to wash her eyes. Sometimes I will specifically find very abuse novels or TV dramas to torture myself and cry a little.”
“Back then, watching “The Eastern Palace” really made me cry. Sister Zhirou, have you seen it?”
Liang Zhirou shook her head with red eyes. She had no time to watch these things in recent years. She couldn’t even understand when people around her talked about these topics. This was also one of the reasons why she had never been able to fit in.
“There are knives in the sugar! Let me tell you…”
Chen Lu listened to Chen Mo tell the story that was purely written to hurt the readers, and soon drove to their destination.
……
“Are you okay?”
Chen Lu opened the car door for Liang Zhirou and asked softly.
He really couldn’t figure out why Liang Zhirou was sad, so he could only ask her like this.
He couldn’t help but think, how difficult is it to understand a girl’s mind? He couldn’t even understand this silly girl’s mind now.
Chen Mo took the initiative to get out of the other side early. She knew that her younger sister would only be treated like this when Liang Zhirou wasn’t around.
“I’m fine.” Liang Zhirou felt a little embarrassed to look at him, and lowered her head as she got out of the car.
As she was about to run away, she was gently grabbed by the arm by Chen Lu. This time, he didn’t have time to feel the delicate touch, and just kept staring at her back.
The girl froze there suddenly, and slowly turned around after a few seconds.
She felt a little uncomfortable in her heart, afraid that Chen Lu would force her to tell him something. She wouldn’t be able to say it if she did, and she didn’t want to hide it from Chen Lu, which would make her miserable.
Fortunately, Chen Lu seemed to understand that she didn’t want to say anything, and instead said:
“Then smile for me, and I’ll let you go when I believe you’re not sad.”
Liang Zhirou tried her best to look up at him, and forced a smile, pouting at him.
She couldn’t smile for a while, so she could only try to get away with it.
Chen Lu poked her cheek with his index finger and took her into the store.
He didn’t let go of her hand even in front of Chen Mo.
