Chapter 80: Afraid You’re Hungry
“There’s such a thing?” Chen Lu said jokingly.
“Of course.” Jiang Chao nodded, slowly walking to the balcony, pushing open the window before lighting a cigarette.
After thinking for a long time, he finally said, “I think you and Liang Zhirou are a good match, go for it. You’re not Li Sinian, you should know what’s best for you.”
Li Sinian heard this and was unhappy, “Damn! Why bring me into this?”
Actually, he could see the difference in his heart. Whether it was Liu Yan to Jiang Chao or Liang Zhirou to Chen Lu, they were both more proactive than Qin Wenxi.
But he couldn’t control his liking for her. It was like being in sage mode, both clear-headed and regretful. But when Qin Wenxi took the initiative, he couldn’t help himself.
Chen Lu turned to look at him, helplessly saying, “Who hasn’t been young?”
Jiang Chao recalled his past and also exhaled a smoke ring, “Yeah. As long as you can meet the right person in the end, let the process be what it may.”
At first, he was incredibly proud of his experience as a time management master. Now, he only felt that he was wasting his life back then.
Many people only understand what love is or how to love after they fall.
Only then will they understand that before loving others, they must first learn to love themselves.
Chen Lu climbed off the bed and patted Li Sinian’s shoulder, who was restless, “It’s okay, think about it more. You’re your parents’ heart and soul.”
“Your mom would cry if she saw you being so submissive to a girl.”
“Get out, get out!” Li Sinian pushed him jokingly, “Why didn’t you think that way back then?”
“Our situations are different. If I’m not good to her, my mom might beat me up.”
Chen Lu didn’t say more, took his laptop and went to discuss things with Jiang Chao.
…
Time flew by and it was June.
Hangzhou became increasingly hotter, like a big furnace. All the third-year students were also in the most anxious period.
For them, their university life was really coming to an end.
More than that, they were even more upset about going to work.
Chen Lu and Jiang Chao didn’t have time to be sentimental. They had been busy coaxing (crossed out) recruiting employees these past few days.
He borrowed a large sunshade from Lin Miaomiao and set it up on the playground. This was the initial interview site for their studio.
It was a bit shabby now, but Chen Lu believed it would be a different world in the future.
As Chen Lu expected, there were a lot of people coming to interview after hearing that they could work on games and get paid.
Now he understood why so many directors recently liked to hire college students as extras. These college students were even willing to pay to experience it.
Too abstract.
During the lunch break.
“I have something to report to you.”
Jiang Chao sat next to Chen Lu and said.
“I have a friend who also gathered a few people a long time ago to start a studio, but they had no money or ideas, so they wanted to work under us. What do you think about this?
I think it’s good. This way we won’t be short of people all of a sudden, and it’s good for long-term development.”
He described it seriously. Whatever he said, he let Chen Lu make the decision, and he really let Chen Lu make the decision, without any hesitation.
This was also one of the reasons why Chen Lu was willing to go through all this trouble with him.
Chen Lu rested his chin on his hand and thought for a while, then said solemnly, “Forget it.”
“Why?” Jiang Chao was curious.
“It’s hard to control. We can hire and fire whoever we want from here. If you let your friend bring a bunch of people over, it’ll be a pain in the ass later.”
Then he paused, as if considering whether he should say the rest, “Assuming everything goes smoothly, how can you guarantee that they’re not a clique?”
“On the surface, he’s the one who introduced them. Suppose, I mean suppose, we really get bigger and bigger in the future. Then they will have learned everything they need to learn, and they will be familiar with the process. He will be able to call the shots in this small group, leave and start his own business, what will you do?”
Chen Lu looked at Jiang Chao impassively, “Always remember, both of us can be replaced. If he really uses you as a stepping stone, you won’t have a leg to stand on.”
Jiang Chao was stunned, “That’s so immoral.”
“Everyone’s here to make money, why are you talking about morality with me?” Chen Lu was amused by him, “If this situation really happens, and you can’t pull together a team that can take over the work in time, the project will be stuck and you’ll be waiting to starve.”
“Damn, you’re the best.” After a long silence, Jiang Chao could only give him a thumbs up.
He really didn’t think that much. He was a little scared after listening to Chen Lu.
To be honest, he didn’t even think Chen Lu was so thoughtful.
“Let’s keep recruiting people this afternoon, what are we having for lunch?” Jiang Chao asked, putting his hand on Chen Lu’s shoulder.
“Liang Zhirou will come to find me later.” Chen Lu answered calmly.
“Damn! You’re born lucky!”
“You dare to curse your father?” Chen Lu patted the list on the table, “I asked her to bring some food for me. I’ll keep looking at these later.”
“It’s just recruiting a few people, it’s already too much to be busy for a whole day. You really think we’re a piece of cake?”
“Alright.” Jiang Chao shrugged, speechless.
It seems that there were so many people coming to interview, and he was a little inflated.
It has to be said that Chen Lu has more ideas. When he first thought about doing it himself, he didn’t even think of this.
At the beginning, they didn’t need such professional labor, college students who were well-versed in their studies could handle it.
“I’ll stay here with you.”
He squinted at the big sun overhead and said seriously.
He couldn’t let Chen Lu be busy here while he went to eat.
“Suit yourself.”
Chen Lu said, then saw a figure in the distance and added, “It seems you don’t need to stay here with me.”
“What do you mean?” Jiang Chao asked.
“Your girlfriend is here.”
After Liu Yan approached, she casually greeted the two of them and pulled out a plastic chair to sit down.
“I came to see how you two are doing, to see the world.” Liu Yan chuckled, “After all, this is the first time someone around me is starting a business.”
Chen Lu was a little amused, “Still the same thing, 2,000 a month, so many people are scrambling for it, how novel.”
Liu Yan glanced at the big list in Chen Lu’s hand, “After all, it’s a part-time job for them, 2,000 is actually a lot. The part-time job at our school’s delivery station is tiring, and they only get a little over 1,000 a month.”
“This also shows that there are still a lot of people with dreams, right?” Jiang Chao still wanted to believe that some people came to pursue their dreams.
Not ten or eight, but one or two, right?
Just as they were chatting, Liang Zhirou came running over with a bag.
Chen Lu quickly took the bag from her, pushed her onto the chair, and took out the electric fan he had snatched from Lin Miaomiao to blow air on her.
He was both worried and helpless, “You silly goose, it’s so hot today, why are you running so fast! Aren’t you hot?”
“I’m afraid you’re hungry…” Liang Zhirou said breathlessly, a few strands of hair were stuck to her cheeks by sweat, and she didn’t bother to fix them.
It was obvious that she didn’t rest at all on her way here.
Chen Lu smiled, reached out and grabbed the small fan from Jiang Chao’s hand, holding both in his hands, blowing air on the girl at the same time.
“I’m not hot, you eat quickly…”
“Answer honestly, did you eat yourself?”
“No.” Liang Zhirou lowered her head and replied.
She didn’t have time to eat after class, so she ran to bring it to Chen Lu.
Only then did she notice Liu Yan beside her, and she was startled. Seeing the other party’s complex expression, she felt a little strange.
“This is Liu Yan, Jiang Chao’s girlfriend.” Chen Lu introduced.
Liang Zhirou greeted them politely and nervously, “Y-you, hello.”
“Hello.” Liu Yan smiled and replied.
As Mo Yuqing’s best friend, she might have been a little bit jealous of Liang Zhirou, but she wasn’t stupid.
One thing at a time.
Seeing the looks in Chen Lu and Liang Zhirou’s eyes, she sighed long and hard in her heart.
Yuqing, it seems you don’t have a chance…
