When I Woke Up, My Billionaire Wife’s Childhood Friend Was Back Chapter 2

Chapter 2

After Yi Bohao noticed that Qin Yi completely ignored him, his expression shifted slightly, but he quickly regained his composure.

He first closed the private room door, then slowly walked toward Qin Yi, extending his hand from about a step away as he said,
“Mr. Qin, we’ve met on video before!”

Qin Yi looked at Yi Bohao after hearing this, but he neither responded nor showed any intention of shaking hands.

Seeing this, Yi Bohao had no choice but to continue,
“Mr. Qin, I just returned to the country yesterday. Today I came to see Xiaowan to discuss a business collaboration. I didn’t expect to run into you here of all places!

But… for you to appear here at this exact moment, could it be that you’re…?”

As he spoke, Yi Bohao glanced at Su Xiaowan.

After noticing that she wasn’t thinking along those lines, he immediately shifted his tone, his voice laced with doubt,
“Mr. Qin, did you specifically come here to see Xiaowan? Could it be that you suspect…?”

Hearing this, the anger in Qin Yi’s heart became even harder to contain.

The reason he was so furious was because Su Xiaowan had deceived him.

She had promised him before that if she ever met with Yi Bohao alone, she would tell him immediately.

Standing off to the side, Su Xiaowan felt a pang of dread when she heard Yi Bohao’s words.

“Bohao, I was the one who asked my husband to come here!”

As she said this, she anxiously looked toward the door.

She knew that as long as her secretary, Li Zhiqing, came in at this moment, everything could be clearly explained.

After all, right now only she and Yi Bohao were inside this private room!

Just as Su Xiaowan was about to explain herself to Qin Yi, the private room door happened to open from the outside, and Li Zhiqing appeared in the doorway.

When Li Zhiqing saw that Qin Yi was also inside the private room, she froze for a moment.

But she quickly recovered, and greeted Qin Yi with a warm smile.

“President, the contracts have all been printed!” Li Zhiqing said as she quickly handed the contracts to Su Xiaowan.

Seeing Li Zhiqing suddenly appear at the door, Qin Yi immediately regained his composure.

He took the contract from Su Xiaowan and was about to read it when Yi Bohao spoke up,
“Xiaowan, this contract involves trade secrets, you—”

Before Su Xiaowan could respond, Qin Yi stopped her with a raised hand.

Then he looked at Yi Bohao and said,
“Mr. Yi, my wife hasn’t said a word yet, so why are you interrupting?

And another thing—weren’t all those things you just said meant to make me misunderstand my wife? If you truly cared about me and my wife, you would’ve explained from the start that Li Zhiqing was here with you.”

After speaking, Qin Yi silently thanked his past self for having read so many online novels about “green tea men” and “green tea women.”

In Qin Yi’s view, as long as Su Xiaowan hadn’t physically cheated, everything was still salvageable.

But he also thought to himself: he still needed to find out if Su Xiaowan had emotionally cheated. If she had, then he needed to divorce her as soon as possible.

He knew very well that “if you keep simping, you’ll end up with nothing.”

This was a hard-earned life lesson from all the novels and news he had consumed online in his past life.

Yi Bohao secretly glanced at Li Zhiqing and thought: Her timing couldn’t have been worse!

Then he smiled at Qin Yi and said,
“It seems you really misunderstand me, Mr. Qin. I’ll find some time to talk things through with you properly.”

He then turned to Su Xiaowan,
“Xiaowan, can we sign the contract now?”

Before Su Xiaowan could answer, Qin Yi spoke,
“I’m afraid the contract can’t be signed today. I need to take it back and review it first.”

Hearing this, Su Xiaowan hurried to explain,
“Bohao, I was so happy just now that I forgot to mention—every contract at Yiwan Group must be reviewed by my husband before it can be signed. Why don’t we sign it another day?”

Standing to the side, Li Zhiqing inwardly gave Qin Yi a thumbs-up as she watched Su Xiaowan lie so smoothly without blushing or skipping a beat.

In this world, the only person who could make Su Xiaowan lower her head and concede was probably Qin Yi.

Qin Yi was handsome and articulate, and every time he came to the company he could charm all the female employees of Yiwan Group.

Seeing that even Su Xiaowan had said so, Yi Bohao had no choice but to accept it.

Soon, Qin Yi, Su Xiaowan, and Li Zhiqing walked out of the private room one after another.

As the three of them walked out, Yi Bohao stood inside the room with a complicated look in his eyes as he watched Su Xiaowan’s back.

Only when her figure disappeared from his sight did he finally look away.

Even though Su Xiaowan was already twenty-eight and had a three-year-old daughter,

what was astonishing was that neither her figure nor her beauty had diminished in the slightest.

Her slender waist was still as delicate as ever, as though childbirth had left no trace on her.

And her face—like a work of art, exquisitely sculpted, with every feature perfectly placed.

It was as if time had merely added a touch of maturity and charm, without erasing any of her natural allure.

This was why every time Qin Yi looked at her back,

he understood Cao Mengde (Cao Cao) a little more deeply.

Meanwhile, after leaving the club, Su Xiaowan gloomily sat in the passenger seat of the car that Qin Yi had driven there.

Her own car was driven back to the company by Li Zhiqing.

After driving in silence for a while, Su Xiaowan finally couldn’t hold back and asked,
“Honey, how did you know I was at the Hongma Club with Yi Bohao?”

“Someone sent me a message,” Qin Yi replied calmly.

“Who?”

Su Xiaowan thought maybe her husband had someone tailing her.

“Someone I don’t know.”

As he spoke, Qin Yi took out his phone, opened the message, and handed the phone to Su Xiaowan.

She quickly took note of the phone number on her own phone, then composed a message to someone.

After doing all that, she put her phone down and turned to look at Qin Yi, who was focused on driving.

“Honey, it’s obvious that person is trying to sow discord between us!”

“I’ve thought of that too. But flies only bite eggs with cracks! If you had told me ahead of time, would this have happened today?”

“I just didn’t want you to overthink it.”

“If you’ve done nothing wrong, you don’t fear shadows. I’ll definitely be checking carefully when we get back. And if I find even the slightest hint of anything wrong, I’ll make sure you know my years of boxing practice weren’t for nothing!”

Hearing her husband’s fierce tone, Su Xiaowan secretly pouted and thought to herself: As if you could really bear to hit me.

But she also knew very well where her husband’s bottom line was.

She clearly understood that today’s incident was indeed her fault.
