Chapter 15 – Of course, it’s accompanying Yan Yan to college!
The car was a self-driving taxi.
The two sat in the back seat, neither speaking for a moment.
Song Yan took the lead in breaking the silence: “Did you take an inhibitor?”
Xie Chenyu was tapping on his communicator, seemingly looking at something. Hearing this, he didn’t even raise his head, his expression natural: “Yeah, you had something similar to a marking situation yesterday, with some pheromone overflow. I saw that they were worried that I would be affected and hurt you, so I thought about it from the perspective of being in love and decided that being affected was more reasonable, so I went to get an injection.”
Song Yan stared at him: “Really?”
Xie Chenyu looked calm: “Of course.”
His brain was spinning rapidly, thinking about what he should say if this love brain went to verify and found out that there was a time difference in between, or if he directly found out that he had been restless.
However, after thinking about it, the first one was still salvageable, but the second one was really difficult.
Song Yan didn’t verify.
One was that he didn’t want to go back to the topic that had finally ended, the second was that as the beneficiary, he didn’t want to take this seriously, and the third was that Xie Chenyu had a lover, and it wasn’t appropriate for him to keep holding on to the point of “Do you have feelings for my pheromones?”
However, connecting it to Xie Chenyu’s subtle state just now, he could actually guess the answer, and couldn’t help but want to laugh, suddenly finding that this literary youth’s face-saving appearance was quite interesting.
It was also possible that Xie Chenyu didn’t want other things mixed into their contractual relationship, causing unnecessary complications, so he wanted to cover things up.
So he let the literary youth off, hummed, and looked out the window: “That’s good then.”
Xie Chenyu breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that this matter was over.
He was fortunate that this love brain was quite cute sometimes.
The literary youth and the love brain arrived at the port and boarded the spaceship, finally ending their nearly two-month honeymoon and returning to the Imperial Capital Star.
It was already evening when they arrived at the Xie family. The newly married couple entered the house hand in hand, immediately switching to business mode and distributing the gifts they had bought on the way.
The family sat together and had a harmonious meal, each talking about their recent situation.
Song Yan continued to play the introverted role, with Xie Chenyu doing most of the talking. They had already discussed some detailed talking points on the spaceship, and Song Yan occasionally interjected a few words, which made it seem particularly realistic.
Finally, when they mentioned the famous scenery on Lisu Star, Xie Chenyu even showed them photos.
Everyone looked at their matching couple outfits and felt their love.
The Xie family head looked at his son’s happy smile, his eyes gratified, and asked, “What are your plans for the future?”
Everyone at the table looked over in unison.
Song Yan keenly sensed that the air was quiet for a second or two, and immediately perked up.
There were many important events in a big family. Was the power struggle of the wealthy about to be staged?
To be honest, he was a little curious as to why this top student had grown up in the Di family. Did he agree to come back and get married because he had ideas about the Xie family’s property?
Xie Chenyu didn’t seem to notice the subtle atmosphere in the restaurant, and said without thinking, “Of course, it’s accompanying Yan Yan to college!”
Song Yan: “……”
He silently looked at the literary youth.
Xie Chenyu considerately served him a bowl of soup, and heard his father speak again.
“You can’t accompany him to class every day,” the Xie family head said, “Besides, you should support the family after you get married.”
Xie Chenyu said, “I know, Yan Yan’s university is on Bo’s Star. I checked, and it seems that our family also has a company there. I can go and be a vice president.”
The Xie family head recalled the industry on Bo’s Star and found that it was not large in scale, so he was a little dissatisfied.
But this son always had his own ideas. Besides, Song Yan was only going to school for four years, so Chenyu could just go there to train. At this age, he should enjoy love.
In the end, he agreed.
Song Yan was unhappy.
He had applied for a jewelry major, but because he had been exposed to this knowledge since he was a child, he didn’t need to bother to learn anything else, and he didn’t need to find a job after graduation. The quality of the school didn’t matter to him, so he chose an ordinary university on Bo’s Star.
Bo’s Star was close to the transition point, making it easy to go anywhere. He originally thought that he would be free when he entered college, but who knew that Xie Chenyu would follow him. It was best if this literary youth was just saying it on the surface, and was actually going to find Elizabeth.
No one on the scene could see his unhappiness.
Everyone finished dinner harmoniously, and the newly married couple went to their honeymoon suite.
The honeymoon suite was a three-story villa, not far from the Xie family head’s building.
They had visited it before the wedding and had already divided their respective territories. Once the door was closed, no one knew that they slept in separate rooms.
Song Yan didn’t ask until he entered the house: “Are you going to Bo’s Star too?”
Xie Chenyu said, “It’s just a nominal position, I won’t be there most of the time.”
Song Yan thought, as expected, and nodded reassuringly, turning around to go upstairs.
“Wait,” Xie Chenyu called him in time, mentioning the first thing they had to do after returning, “Your birthday is in a few days, you decide on the guests from your side, you don’t have to invite anyone if you don’t want to.”
Song Yan was stunned and turned back.
He sat on the sofa, lowered his eyes and thought for a few seconds.
Xie Chenyu rarely saw him in such a calm state and sat over as well.
He had never talked to Song Yan about the Whale Rovers, even when the Whale’s was trending before, he didn’t take the opportunity to test him. Because it would not only expose that he had investigated him, but it would also be suspected of crossing the line, after all, they had agreed not to interfere in each other’s affairs.
But the Song family’s affairs were different, this was well known in the Imperial Capital Star back then.
“I heard Grandpa mention your family’s affairs,” he said softly, “We’re married now, you can use the Xie family’s power. Many people outside think that the Song family will rise with the marriage of the two families. If you don’t want the Song family to take advantage, let them recognize the facts, or I can find a way to help you get back the property from back then.”
Song Yan was actually thinking about whether to tell Xie Chenyu about the will.
He originally thought of taking the time to go back on his birthday and gather the Song family members, handling this matter cleanly and neatly, without Xie Chenyu having to go there to do business. But with Xie Chenyu’s mention now, he had new ideas.
He raised his head: “Why?”
Xie Chenyu said: “Because we’re in the honeymoon period, I should ask a few questions anyway, and it’s true that they bullied people. Our relationship can barely be considered half friends, and I’ve never let a friend suffer since I was a child.”
However, in order to prevent his favorability from rising too high, he added, “Elizabeth would be disappointed in me if she knew that I turned a blind eye to this kind of thing.”
Song Yan said, “Thank you.”
After a pause, he continued, “There’s something I haven’t told you, my grandfather asked me to find an opportunity to mention it to you, but I thought there was no need for a contractual marriage, so I didn’t say it.”
Xie Chenyu raised his eyebrows.
Could it be that he was going to confess that his parents used to be members of the Whale Rovers?
He asked cooperatively, “What is it?”
Song Yan said, “My parents have a will, but it will not be announced until my 18th birthday.”
Xie Chenyu’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately understood the intention.
They were all members of the Whale Rovers, and there was always a risk of danger when performing tasks, so it was impossible not to make a will. Even as the leader of Whales back then, it was very likely that he would leave behind a considerable amount of private property.
If something happened to them and Song Yan was still a minor, with such a large sum of money falling on him, surrounded by wolves, he might be killed one day.
But if someone was specifically entrusted to manage the property, Song Yan would only have a Song family company and jewelry store that suddenly had no owner on the surface. As long as he didn’t let go, there would be no danger to his life. Taking a step back appropriately would also allow him to completely recognize the people around him as good or bad during the difficult times, so that he wouldn’t suffer in the future.
Old Master Qin’s Decisive decision to leave with Song Yan back then must have been partly due to the will.
He asked, “Does it say that all the property belongs to you?”
Song Yan nodded obediently.
Xie Chenyu immediately smiled: “Then let’s have a big birthday party, invite all the influential people in the Imperial Capital Star, and call your family over too, and publicly announce the will. If you don’t want people to know the full content of the will, let the lawyer only read a part of it, the point is to make them spit out what they stole from you back then.”
Song Yan was thinking the same thing just now.
Although he had never taken the Song family members seriously and was too lazy to waste time on them, he had to admit that it was still so refreshing.
However, he still pretended a bit, asking hesitantly, “Wouldn’t it be too much trouble to make such a big fuss?”
Xie Chenyu said, “Leave it to me.”
Song Yan didn’t try to persuade him, his face filled with emotion: “Thank you.”
Xie Chenyu waved his hand and said “you’re welcome”, motioning for him to go upstairs to rest, and went out to find his dad.
Then he dragged his dad to find his grandfather, and announced with a serious face: “I want to have a meeting.”
Old Master Xie, the Xie family head, and Xie Chenyu’s eldest and second brothers, who had curiously followed to listen, all looked at him, waiting for the next sentence.
Xie Chenyu said, “My Yan Yan’s birthday is coming up.”
Everyone continued to look at him, thinking, so what?
Xie Chenyu said sadly, “I didn’t accompany him on so many birthdays before, and now I feel heartache and regret just thinking about it!”
Everyone was speechless, what kind of regret are you talking about, you didn’t even know each other before!
Xie Chenyu said, “This is his coming-of-age birthday, how can we be careless?”
The Xie family head echoed: “Yes, let’s celebrate it lively for him, and you have to get your marriage certificate that day.”
Xie Chenyu: “……”
There’s no need to remind me of this matter specifically.
He said seriously, “I think we should have a big party and invite everyone over!”
Everyone was silent for a moment.
The Xie family head said, “Wouldn’t it be too rushed to prepare now…”
Xie Chenyu turned a deaf ear: “You’ve heard about his family’s affairs, he only has a grandfather left, and no other family members. From now on, we are his family. What’s wrong with our family having a big coming-of-age birthday party?”
“And I have something I want to announce that day,” he said, explaining the will.
“I want to make them pay for bullying my Yan Yan!”
Everyone was silent again.
It’s okay, they thought, it’s just that the preparation time is a bit short.
Based on the Xie family’s status, most people would probably come, enough to spread the word about the Song family’s affairs on that day.
Xie Chenyu saw that they had nodded, hugged them hard, and threatened to handle it himself.
Then, with a distressed expression on his face, he went back to find his Yan Yan.
Old Master Xie watched him walk away, turned to his son with a blank expression.
The two were very young and looked like brothers standing together.
The Xie family head met his gaze and asked, “Dad, what’s wrong?”
Old Master Xie glanced at the other two grandsons and waited for them to leave before speaking: “I said back then that we shouldn’t have handed him over to the Di family to raise.”
Handing him over to the Di family was fine, but it turned out that he was raised by a painter.
Look, they raised a good child of our family into this kind of thing!
