White Peach Oolong
White Peach Oolong Chapter 13.2

Bai Tao was indignant, but Pei Shi looked at her with a meaningful glance. “He may have a big misconception, thinking that we need to acquire their business line because we’re in a weak position. So, we turn a blind eye to these unspoken rules and even try to please him to achieve the acquisition goal.”

Pausing, Pei Shi looked at Bai Tao again. “Besides, you don’t really look like a regular female assistant, so he might have a strong misconception because of that.”

“Huh?”

Bai Tao paused for a second, then quickly realized Pei Shi’s implication. “Are you saying I look like a vase you keep around for self-entertainment and entertaining others?”

Pei Shi cleared his throat and looked away, his voice low. “I didn’t say that. It’s just that your appearance might give that impression. A legitimate married boss wouldn’t hire an assistant like you.”

Fine…

Bai Tao suppressed her feelings and tried to convince herself that Pei Shi was indirectly complimenting her on being pretty.

By now, the knocking from next door had stopped. Bai Tao peered through the peephole. “Zhang Zhixing’s gone. I’m leaving too.”

She glanced cautiously at Pei Shi. Although he seemed natural, there was still something obvious under the bathrobe…

Pei Shi obviously noticed Bai Tao’s gaze. “I suggest you stay put in my room. This is Zhang Zhixing’s territory, not Rong City. I can’t be sure if this hotel has any private dealings with him or if he might return. It’s dangerous for you to stay alone next door.” He looked at Bai Tao meaningfully. “I think it might be more dangerous than being with me.”

Who would have thought there were tigers on both sides of the mountain!

This guy really wasn’t a good person!

Bai Tao frowned as she thought it over, analyzing the situation. She concluded that staying by Pei Shi’s side, this tiger, was safer—after all, he was her husband and loved her so much. She believed she could distract him and keep him under control. If he dared to misbehave, she could easily send him to the hospital with a single kick…

She smiled at Pei Shi and teased, “Honey, I’ll definitely stay by your side. And I trust you, even if you drink absinthe, I’m sure I’m your top priority, right?”

As she spoke, she took out her phone and opened some music. “Come on, let’s listen to some relaxing bedtime music?”

Pei Shi didn’t object at first, until Bai Tao’s phone played “Great Compassion Mantra”…

That made him grit his teeth. “Could you… be a bit quieter?”

After saying that, Pei Shi reached out and took Bai Tao’s phone, turning off the music. He handed the phone back to her. “Pour me a glass of water.”

Pei Shi’s request was reasonable. Although he looked unnaturally flushed, his tone and expression remained calm. Bai Tao cautiously poured the water. Just as she was about to hand it to him at a safe distance, she accidentally tripped over the tie Pei Shi had tossed aside absentmindedly. The water splashed toward his chest, and instinctively, she tried to move forward to regain her balance. Fortunately, her quick reflexes allowed her to grab onto something at the last moment and prevent herself from falling.

But before she could feel relieved, she found herself face-to-face with Pei Shi, who was now uncomfortably close. In the next moment, she realized that in her panic, she had grabbed onto something to steady herself—

Pei Shi’s bathrobe collar had been completely loosened, and her water was now trickling down his attractive collarbones…

Almost instinctively, Pei Shi stood up as if avoiding something, taking several steps back away from Bai Tao. His eyes were red now, his earlobes flushed, and his voice trembled slightly as he spoke through gritted teeth, “Bai Tao, was that intentional?”

This man seemed on the brink of losing his temper. “I told you, I drank absinthe in your place.”

Pei Shi took a deep breath and warned, “Are you regretting that your knees weren’t sore enough after you forced me to drink last time?”

Bai Tao initially felt a bit guilty, but upon hearing this, she was immediately shocked!

What?

Last time, after Pei Shi got drunk, he actually made her kneel down?? And it hurt her knees?? How long did she have to kneel for?!

Now, looking up at Pei Shi again, Bai Tao’s gaze was filled with murderous intent. Trashy scum! She couldn’t believe that someone who was so loving and affectionate with her on normal days would turn violent after a drink! And he made her kneel down?!

Thinking about her future self five years later, who not only kneeled but continued to act lovingly towards him without doubt, Bai Tao was overwhelmed. No wonder she had just mentioned begging him half the night after he got drunk!

Bai Tao was now filled with sorrow and anger. She couldn’t take it out on herself, so she grabbed a pillow from Pei Shi’s bed and swung it at him.

Pei Shi was hit, momentarily stunned. “What are you doing?”

“You made me kneel down! I’ll teach you a lesson!”

Unfortunately, Bai Tao was no match for Pei Shi physically. In no time, he disarmed her of the pillow and wrapped her in a blanket, pinning her down on the bed to prevent her from thrashing around.

After this little commotion, Pei Shi seemed exhausted. His breath quickened, and though he seemed on the verge of something, he couldn’t quite act on it. Eventually, he could only glare at Bai Tao with a mix of anger and fatigue.

“Can’t you calm down?” Pei Shi looked pained. “I’ve been enduring a lot.”

Bai Tao was still fired up. “But you—”

“I never made you kneel down.” Pei Shi’s irritation grew more apparent. “Can’t you sober up a bit?”

“Then why were my knees hurting?” Bai Tao demanded.

Unable to face Bai Tao’s questions, Pei Shi looked away, his face reddening. Initially reluctant to answer, he eventually gave in as Bai Tao struggled against his hold. His voice was strained and unnatural.

“I never asked you to kneel to me. You just… knelt for too long.”

Bai Tao stared blankly for a whole minute before it clicked. She felt utterly dumbfounded, unable to meet Pei Shi’s eyes.

This beast…

Bai Tao was embarrassed, nervous, and too shy to speak. Pei Shi also seemed uncomfortable. Glancing at her, he muttered, “That time, you forced me to drink.”

Pei Shi paused. “You were drunk too.”

Bai Tao was beyond exasperated. So she had suffered through all that kneeling because of her own actions? She recalled Pei Shi’s words just now. If she had cried and begged him for half the night, was this man even human?

Seeing Bai Tao finally calm down, Pei Shi released her from his grasp. “Alright, stay on your side now. Keep away from me.”

Bai Tao didn’t dare to make trouble anymore. She immediately rolled off the bed wrapped in the blanket, quickly hopping away from Pei Shi.

Even though they were a married couple, Bai Tao accepted the fact that they were loving. She could foresee that their relationship couldn’t be pure anymore. But she never expected herself and Pei Shi to play so wildly…

Scary! Terrifying!

Bai Tao dared not think any further. This was too adult-rated.

Bai Tao: I must take good care of my husband! (Fist pump)

Pei Shi: …Alright. (Inner turmoil and unease—why isn’t she leaving yet? If I did something wrong, can’t you punish me directly instead of letting Bai Tao do it?)
