Strangely, Omega actually started dating Mr. A just like that.
When the coach found out, she couldn’t help but sigh.
“Mr. A is exactly that kind of sly person,” she said. “His family is notorious for being harsh and rotten, so it’s not surprising.”
Omega was confused. “How do you know?”
“Well, you’re the only one who doesn’t know,” the coach sat cross-legged next to him. “But don’t you feel awkward about it?”
“Awkward about what?”
“He’s only pursuing you because your pheromones are a perfect match,” the Beta coach furrowed her brow. “If it weren’t for that so-called ‘100% compatibility,’ would he still be with you?”
Omega shrugged. “I don’t really mind that much, because pheromones are just a part of me. Unless one day I get tired of living and decide to get a gland removal surgery, then maybe I’ll consider that kind of thing.”
“Ah, well, it’s good that you think that way,” the coach stood up and gave him a tug. “Just don’t get too caught up in your own head.”
After leaving the club, unsurprisingly, Mr. A’s car was parked outside.
Since his exposure, Mr. A no longer allowed him to use the pheromone blockers, as their side effects would be harmful to his body. However, the thought of being alone in the same space with Mr. A still made him feel a bit uneasy.
Mr. A opened the door for him. As soon as he climbed into the seat, Mr. A subtly sniffed, inhaling the strong scent of fresh grass and milk on him from his workout.
“Uh… stop sniffing,” Omega’s cheeks flushed, and he huddled in the farthest corner of the seat. “I still need to go home and shower later.”
“Feeling good today?” Mr. A’s gaze held a trace of amusement. “You even ran for forty minutes.”
“How did you know?” Omega shivered.
“I could smell it,” Mr. A said. “It’s simple, isn’t it?”
“Simple?” Omega straightened up, suspicious, and sniffed the pheromones Mr. A was releasing. They were cool, pleasant, and refreshing. Aside from making his legs weak after smelling too much, what else could he detect?
Just as he was puzzled, Mr. A chuckled lightly. “Of course, I was just kidding. I was guessing. Are you still hot?”
“I…” Omega was about to say that he was being tricked, but then he heard the second part of Mr. A’s sentence. He paused for a moment and softly replied, “Not hot anymore.”
“You’re not supposed to use the air conditioner right after exercising, but it’s fine to just smell the pheromones.” Omega felt a bit guilty about this, as if he were causing extra trouble for Mr. A.
“What’s wrong?” Mr. A noticed his discomfort and asked, “Is something bothering you?”
Omega thought for a moment and awkwardly said, “Because you used to be very strict with me, like a teacher, and now suddenly you’re being so… I don’t know, I just can’t get used to it.”
Mr. A raised an eyebrow. “So you like it stricter?”
“No!” Omega quickly denied it. “It’s just…”
“I know what you’re going to say,” Mr. A said, “But I’m someone who acts decisively. The education I received taught me to always make quick decisions. I was strict with you before because it was my responsibility to guide you. But now your position has changed. Should I still ridicule and mock you like I did before?”
“Well, that’s true…” Omega said, feeling troubled, “But it still feels a little strange.”
Mr. A fell silent.
After a long pause, he spoke softly, “If you’re not comfortable with it, I won’t force you. It’s fine, after I take you home, we can…”
His expression was rarely vulnerable, his handsome brows carrying a hint of confusion and melancholy. Omega was so startled that he quickly rushed over to deny it: “No, no, no, I didn’t mean that! I feel fine now, you can keep going as you are!”
Surrounded by the scent of fresh grass and milk, Mr. A sighed contentedly.
He patted Omega’s head affectionately, his tone warm, “This was your request, so I’ll keep it up from now on.”
Omega, unaware that he had just dug himself into a hole, found himself in Mr. A’s arms, feeling completely stiff and uncomfortable.
…However, the cool scent was really pleasant.
As the days passed, unknowingly, Omega and Mr. A had been in this strange relationship for a month.
He had tried to purposely pick at Mr. A’s faults, but Mr. A’s actions and words were flawless. Aside from being much more gentle and considerate than before, their dynamic hadn’t changed much—he would learn, and Mr. A would assess his progress.
This allowed him to gradually adjust to their relationship, but just as he was wavering, thinking that the option to refuse was becoming more and more distant, Mr. A handed him an invitation one evening.
“Are you free on Friday night?” He stared into Omega’s eyes, “My family would like to meet you.”
Omega was startled. “Isn’t it a bit too sudden?”
“It’s nothing,” Mr. A smiled faintly, “Whether or not we end up together, it’s only right that they meet you.”
Omega still felt a bit anxious. He ran his fingers through his hair and glanced at himself in the mirror.
…As expected, he was just a man who could barely be considered somewhat handsome.
But he couldn’t refuse Mr. A’s request. After hesitating for a while, he finally agreed.
“Alright, I’ll go.”
