Chapter 13
After lunch, Ling Mo and Qu Yun walked back to school.
Although Qu Yun didn’t have to follow Ling Mo so hard anymore, Ling Mo always kept a meter away from him.
“Hey, you said your dad and my dad are brothers, logically, you and I are brothers too. Why are you always so far away from me?”
“You’re sweating, it smells bad.”
Although he said it like this, Ling Mo’s expression was indifferent, not disgusted.
“… You’re just being fussy. You dislike my saliva, you dislike my sweat, I even made a heart for you and you said it was disgusting. I’ll tell my mom to get me a bottle of sixgod!”
“What’s that?”
“Can’t you understand English? Sixgod insect repellent!” Qu Yun rolled his eyes.
When they got back to school, Ling Mo had just sat down at his seat when a small note was passed to him. He opened it and saw that it was a girl’s handwriting: Li Yuanhang threw away your Chinese textbook.
Ling Mo looked at the note and slightly raised his eyebrows. He opened his bag and looked inside, and sure enough, his Chinese textbook was gone.
“What’s wrong?” Qu Yun walked over and asked.
“Nothing.” Ling Mo still didn’t want to say anything.
“You’re so boring.” Qu Yun took the note on Ling Mo’s desk, completely ignoring Ling Mo’s disapproving look. After all, Qu Yun was happy.
“Heaven is blind! This Li Yuanhang’s childhood must have been unhappy, how come his shadow area is so big? What are you going to do?”
Their Chinese teacher was an old lady who was about to retire. She was very serious, but sometimes she was also very strict.
If a student didn’t bring their textbook, it meant they had a bad learning attitude, and they would have to stand in the back as punishment.
Li Yuanhang did this because he wanted to see Ling Mo stand in the back. It was childish and boring, but unfortunately, he was at the age when it was childish and boring.
“What are you going to do?”
“I told you it’s fine, I’ll take care of it myself.”
“Did anyone see where he threw it? I’ll go find it for you.”
“No need, I’ll make Li Yuanhang go find it.” Ling Mo said indifferently.
Qu Yun knew that Ling Mo seemed extremely aloof, but he actually had a lot of bad intentions.
But he had slept with Ling Mo for a night, and they had developed a bit of valuable brotherhood, although it was probably just him feeling that way, he still didn’t want Ling Mo to suffer a loss.
Just as the Chinese teacher walked into the classroom, Qu Yun took out his own Chinese textbook and threw it on Ling Mo’s desk at the fastest speed, then he went back to his seat.
The Chinese teacher glanced at Qu Yun, then started the class.
As soon as she opened her mouth and said to turn to page 52, she saw that Qu Yun’s desk was empty.
The old lady immediately became displeased, “Mo Xiaobai, where did your textbook go?”
“I forgot it at home.” Qu Yun replied.
Then he received the classic answer, “How come you didn’t forget your brain at home too!”
Everyone laughed.
Li Yuanhang glared at Qu Yun fiercely, mouthing, “Fatso, you should mind your own business!”
The Chinese teacher said in a deep voice, “Those who didn’t bring their textbooks, stand in the back!”
Qu Yun got up without hesitation and walked to the back.
What he didn’t expect was that Ling Mo also stood up and walked to the back, standing next to Qu Yun.
His face was still as solemn as ever, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking.
The Chinese teacher raised her glasses and showed a surprised expression.
“Ling Mo, don’t you have a Chinese textbook on your desk? What’s going on?”
Qu Yun was even more depressed, he whispered, “You don’t have to be so unwilling to accept someone’s kindness… Is it fun to stand in the back together?”
Ling Mo’s back was still so straight. His voice always had a feeling that made people believe him inexplicably.
“The book on my desk is Mo Xiaobai’s. I taught him math, and he wanted to help me.”
The Chinese teacher glanced at Qu Yun, “Mo Xiaobai, is that right?”
Before Qu Yun could open his mouth, Ling Mo said again, “The side of the book has his name on it.”
The teacher looked, and it was true.
She looked at Ling Mo and said, “Then where is your book? Where did it go?”
Ling Mo was silent for two seconds before saying in a neither loud nor soft voice, “My book is with Li Yuanhang.”
Everyone in the grade office knew about Li Yuanhang copying Ling Mo’s homework and hitting him.
The Chinese teacher heard this and thought that Li Yuanhang was bullying him again.
“I didn’t take your book!” Li Yuanhang shouted.
“Then whose book is the one in your hand?” Ling Mo asked back.
“The book in my hand is obviously mine.” Li Yuanhang raised his chin and said.
Qu Yun was a little confused, what was Ling Mo playing at?
“Yours? How come the side of your book has my name on it?” Ling Mo asked coldly.
“This…” Li Yuanhang was speechless for a moment.
Besides the front of the book, everyone likes to write their names on the side of the book too.
Li Yuanhang tore off the page on the front of the book with Ling Mo’s name on it, and signed his name on the table of contents.
“This is my book. My name is on the book! You must have written it on there when I wasn’t paying attention!”
As soon as Li Yuanhang shouted this, the Chinese teacher couldn’t tell which was which.
At this time, Chu Ning, the English class representative, tilted her head and looked and said, “Your Chinese textbook? How come I saw that all the notes inside are in Ling Mo’s handwriting! Your handwriting is like a dog lying down, it’s not that pretty!”
The Chinese teacher heard this, flipped the book open and looked. Sure enough, she could see Ling Mo’s annotations on the blank part of the side of the first 30 pages.
Ling Mo wouldn’t be like other children, who would hurriedly write down what the teacher said and what was written on the blackboard. His notes were based on his own memory and understanding.
“Li Yuanhang, tell me, did Ling Mo take your class for you? How come your textbook is full of Ling Mo’s notes?”
Li Yuanhang was dumbfounded, unable to say a word.
“Heaven is blind… What’s going on?” Qu Yun leaned towards Ling Mo, but Ling Mo didn’t want to answer.
But Li Yuanhang was about to break down.
“Li Yuanhang, you didn’t bring your textbook to class, and you even took another classmate’s textbook! Go stand in the back!” The Chinese teacher slapped the podium hard.
The old lady was very angry.
Because recently, Li Yuanhang kept saying that his calf cramped, and Chen Li guessed that her son was growing taller, so she boiled some bone soup and brought it to Li Yuanhang’s room at night and let him eat it in his room.
Who knew that Li Yuanhang accidentally spilled the bowl, and the bone soup splashed onto the desk, just soaking the Chinese textbook.
Li Yuanhang wiped it for a while, but the textbook was still wrinkled. He took advantage of the time when Ling Mo was washing his clothes and swapped his textbook with Ling Mo’s.
Later, Ling Mo found out and took his textbook to find Li Yuanhang.
Who knew that Chen Li heard this and said that same set of words again, “Yuanhang is your younger brother, let him have it. And your notes are good, let Yuanhang take a look. When Yuanhang’s book dries, we’ll swap them back.”
Then, they never swapped them back.
Li Yuanhang was unwilling to stand in the back. He immediately said, “Teacher, this book was mine, but I swapped it with Ling Mo! It turned out that I got his book, and he didn’t bring his book.”
“Then why did you swap books with Ling Mo?” Chen Qiao, who was in the back, didn’t give face and continued to tear him down.
“Because… because…”
Of course, he couldn’t say that his book got dirty, so he swindled Ling Mo’s book.
Li Yuanhang said what Chen Li told him to say, “Because Ling Mo’s notes are good, I swapped it to take a look!”
“But it’s already class time, why haven’t you returned his book? Are you scribbling all over his book, and Ling Mo is doing your notes properly in your book?” Chu Ning, this little girl, because she was a good student, had always had a sense of superiority, and her words were always sharp and deadly.
And Li Yuanhang always bragged in front of her, saying how Ling Mo listened to his mom at their house, and how he bossed him around. She had been unhappy for a long time.
Liu Meng, the Chinese class representative, also spoke, “This morning during morning reading, I clearly saw Ling Mo take out his Chinese textbook. When he left school at noon, Ling Mo didn’t bring his backpack back, so his Chinese textbook should be in school.”
Liu Meng’s words were implying that Li Yuanhang stole Ling Mo’s book.
Qu Yun was completely surprised.
Ling Mo was a good student, Chu Ning was a good student, and Liu Meng was a good student. The power of good students sticking together was huge.
The Chinese teacher took the textbook on Li Yuanhang’s desk and put it on Ling Mo’s desk, and said, “Come back.”
Then she turned back and pointed at Li Yuanhang, “Go stand in the back and reflect! Come to class tomorrow with your own textbook! If you do these underhanded things again, don’t come to school anymore!”
Li Yuanhang’s eyes turned red, tears were about to fall, and he looked like “Teacher, you’re wrong, everyone is wronging me.”
When Li Yuanhang stood in the back next to him, Qu Yun felt a strange sense of satisfaction and let off another little firework in his heart.
At this time, the Chinese teacher raised her head and glanced at Qu Yun.
Qu Yun was immediately excited.
Teacher, let me go back to my seat! I brought my Chinese textbook!
Who knew that the old lady said, “Mo Xiaobai, although you brought your textbook, you gave your book to Ling Mo out of friendship, but it is still a lie to the teacher, you will stand in the back for half the class.”
Qu Yun’s heart broke.
The old lady really made him stand for half the class before he could go back to his seat. His feet were about to give out.
As soon as he sat down, Qu Yun let out a sigh. At least Li Yuanhang was worse off than him, right?
