Wife, please take responsibility.
Wife, please take responsibility. Chapter 44 – In One Go

Wang Xiaoke immediately resorted to her secret weapon, scratching his armpit fiercely.

“Are you even a woman? Do you have any modesty left?” Chen Xiao’s face darkened.

“Whether I’m a woman or not, you don’t need to worry about it,” Wang Xiaoke said, continuing to scratch him.

But then, she turned her head unintentionally and saw the most shocking scene of her life.

“Song… Song Yi!” She stammered as she saw the man standing just behind her. “What are you doing here?”

“This is a public place, it seems like anyone can be here,” Song Yi said flatly, his expression as emotionless as his tone.

Wang Xiaoke could sense a storm was coming, the oppressive feeling almost suffocating.

“I didn’t mean it like that…” Wang Xiaoke started to explain, but Song Yi cut her off before she could continue.

“I know everything,” he said, his eyes filled with a quiet sorrow.

Know everything? Wang Xiaoke felt frantic. The way he looked at her made it feel like she had once again betrayed his feelings.

“Sorry to interrupt, you two continue,” Song Yi said, his voice heavy with the burden of being hurt, as he turned and walked away.

“Wait, Song Yi, it’s not what you think,” Wang Xiaoke called after him, feeling the need to clarify.

“I understand, Xiaoke,” Song Yi replied, his back still turned to her.

“You understand what?!” Wang Xiaoke felt helpless, unable to see his expression, but his voice clearly held pain.

“Wait for me!” Seeing him walk away, Wang Xiaoke rushed to catch up with him.

She didn’t want to become the woman who strayed from her relationship with Song Yi and ended up with a guy like Chen Xiao. That would make her look so tasteless.

“Serves you right. Even heaven can’t stand your behavior anymore, huh? Now you’re getting your just desserts,” Chen Xiao said smugly, watching Wang Xiaoke’s misfortune with amusement.

Wang Xiaoke halted her steps but suddenly turned, taking a quick stride toward Chen Xiao, grabbing his face and pulling him closer.

“Click,” she took the photo in one swift motion, not wasting any time.

She then shared the photo with Wang Chengyao, let out a sigh of relief, and quickly turned to chase after Song Yi.

Chen Xiao stood there, dumbfounded, watching the entire scene unfold.

He couldn’t help but think, this woman with such low emotional intelligence somehow managed to find herself a boyfriend. It’s not easy!

“Song Yi, stop right there!” Wang Xiaoke gasped, standing in front of him.

Song Yi stopped and resumed his usual stoic expression, his voice void of emotion, “Is there anything else?”

“How can you judge me without listening to my explanation?” Wang Xiaoke’s anger flared up.

“I just think it’s better for both of us to calm down,” Song Yi replied. His long lashes fluttered slightly, hiding the emotions in his eyes.

His voice was soft as he continued, “I thought a contract could hold you, but real feelings are not that easily obtained.”

Wang Xiaoke was stunned. She thought he was about to give up and cautiously asked, “So, you’re not going to date me anymore?”

“Of course, you never wanted to date me,” Song Yi sighed, his expression showing clear disappointment.

“Huh?” Wang Xiaoke was left even more confused.

“Your eyes look full of life,” he said, his voice soft but carrying an unmistakable sadness.
