Wife, please take responsibility. Chapter 66 – Perverted Rogue

Chu Cheng, however, had already shifted his attention to Wang Xiaoke. “Xiaoke, you seem a little down. Did something happen?”

“Even if something did, what could you possibly do about it if we told you?” Su Man, always quick to pick on him, interjected sarcastically.

Whether Chu Cheng didn’t notice the hostility or chose to ignore it, he smiled cheerfully and said to Wang Xiaoke, “Why don’t you tell me? Maybe I can help. Even if I can’t, talking about it might make you feel better.”

Of course, Wang Xiaoke wouldn’t spill all her family troubles to just anyone. She replied politely, “Senior Chu, you just got back today. Let’s not talk about unpleasant things. Maybe another time, I can… treat you to a meal.”

Before she could finish, Su Man, clearly unable to tolerate Chu Cheng’s seemingly self-righteous demeanor, jumped in.

“Her father was in a car accident, and now her stepmother is trying to snatch Wang Group from her. Can you solve that?”

“I…” Chu Cheng was momentarily at a loss for words.

“I what?” Su Man glared at him, her eyes filled with defiance.

She rolled her eyes disdainfully. “Tsk! If you can’t handle it, stop making grandiose claims. I almost thought you had some magical abilities. Turns out all you’re good for is sweet talk.”

“Xiaoke, let’s go.” With that, she grabbed Wang Xiaoke’s hand and started walking away.

Not wanting to embarrass Su Man, Wang Xiaoke gave Chu Cheng an apologetic smile. “Um, Senior Chu, Manman is just like this. Please don’t take it personally. I’ll treat you to a meal next time.”

“Wang Xiaoke, whose side are you on? What do you mean I’m just like this?” Su Man grumbled through gritted teeth, pinching Wang Xiaoke’s cheeks and contorting her face into silly expressions.

Seeing Su Man’s slightly childish antics, Wang Xiaoke sighed and tried to calm her down. “Manman, Senior Chu was just showing concern. You don’t have to be so harsh. At least give him some dignity.”

“Dignity? For a perverted creep who gropes women in public? He doesn’t need any dignity!” Su Man snapped, her anger flaring up even more.

Wang Xiaoke was stunned. She blinked in confusion and asked, “Senior Chu… he really did that to you?”

“What do you think? Do you think I’d randomly accuse that little jerk of groping me if it didn’t happen?” Su Man’s fiery response left Wang Xiaoke feeling as if she’d been struck by lightning. She opened her mouth but found herself utterly speechless.

Seeing Wang Xiaoke standing there like a statue, Su Man’s face turned slightly awkward. She muttered, “Forget it. Let’s focus on solving your problem first.”

The first grape supplier Wang Xiaoke had contacted was a man named Wen, who happened to own the largest vineyard of all her options.

She called him, and upon hearing her intentions, he seemed genuinely enthusiastic. After all, business is business, and a successful partnership would benefit both parties without either side suffering losses.

“Mr. Wen, if it’s convenient for you, I’d like to visit your vineyard today to check the quality of your grapes. If everything looks good, we can also finalize the contract on the spot. What do you think?” Wang Xiaoke proposed.

Mr. Wen, naturally, was more than happy to agree. Rejecting money practically handed to him would be foolish.
