Wilderness Livestream Room [Interstellar]
Wilderness Livestream Room | Chapter: 4

[edited]

His skin was emitting a faint glow and was giving a sense of distance that no one dared not to trespass. His silver hair makes him appear like an exiled immortal. Every contour of his face seems meticulously crafted by a divine hand. At this moment, he casually sits in the chair ahead, half of his body turned sideways to look at her. Every pore on his body emits an irresistible enchanting allure.

Of course, the most crucial point is that this person looks just like an Earthling.

Although it’s already the era of interstellar travel, where different races from different planets are no longer a novelty, deep within Su Ge’s heart lies a very secretive sense of aesthetics—apart from Earthlings, the appearance of other planetary races is often bizarre!

However, looking at a face that conforms so closely to her sense of aesthetics, even someone as conservative as Su Ge has to admit to Rong Shi’s extraordinary attractiveness was unlike anything she’s seen on Earth.

Su Ge: Of course, maybe it’s because she hasn’t seen much. Surely, she hasn’t seen many good-looking Earthlings! (Making an effort to redeem the appearance of Earthlings! =.=)

But—indeed, he is the most anticipated marriage candidate in the entire Galactic Alliance. Just this face alone is striking enough…

Due to his identity and appearance, Rong Shi attention was seldom drawn by anything, but the Earth woman sitting in the back row of the hall is an exception.

The moment Rong Shi saw the slender figure and the few strands of black hair at the entrance of the Interstellar Alliance Base, he was already full of curiosity about this woman from Earth.

And now, after observing carefully, Rong Shi couldn’t help but feel an indescribable feeling.

Rong Shi: Earthlings look so strange!

Objectively speaking, in terms of appearance, Earthlings look almost identical to people from the Milky Way Galaxy. They have four limbs, ten fingers, smooth skin, and no tails.

But to Rong Shi, that’s already very strange!

Since their appearance is almost identical to people from the Milky Way Galaxy, how can their hair be black! And how can their skin have a hint of beige! And moreover, how can their pupils be black! It’s simply unscientific!

It’s as if a child spilled a palette on her, no matter how you look at it, it’s so strange, even more so than various races from other planets!

How can Earthlings have this appearance, really, it’s too difficult to express in words.

As Rong Shi was about to continue observing the Earth woman carefully, he noticed her staring at him with a rather cold gaze. He finally realized that his observation was somewhat impolite. Before he could respond, he saw the director of the event walking back into the hall.

Rong Shi immediately withdrew his gaze, but subconsciously, he found himself paying a bit more attention to this Earth woman with her peculiar appearance.

The director of the event is a native of the Uranus planet, with a faint purple skin tone and hair of the same hue. He has pointed and elongated ears, not too tall, around 1.8 meters, and a fairly muscular build. However, probably due to his role as a host, he always wears a friendly smile on his face.

Upon entering the hall, the director explained the purpose of this gathering.

“It seems everyone is well-prepared for this test, and I can imagine that you will perform just as excellently once you’re in the wilderness. However, since everyone’s scores are too close, there’s no need for ranking. But our supplies do have grades. Therefore, after discussion among our production team, we’ve decided on a fairer way to distribute them.”

As he spoke, the large screen behind him quickly displayed everyone’s scores.

Unlike the Arabic numerals or letters commonly used on Earth, in the Interstellar Alliance, scores are represented by colors. From excellent to failing, they are displayed in gold, red, orange, purple, blue, and green.

In other words, the names of the participants with the best scores would be displayed in gold, while failing scores would be in green.

However, on the current screen, apart from two names in gold, the rest were mostly in blue and green. This indicates… well, it seems everyone’s performance is quite average.

Su Ge carefully glanced at the two gold names. They were written in the universal language, which she had studied intensively for a year before participating in the recording. Conversation wasn’t a problem, but she did struggle a bit with reading.

One of the gold names was hers, and after a few attempts, she confirmed that the other was Rong Shi’s.

Such average performance indeed doesn’t warrant ranking. Although Rong Shi is the most prominent figure in this episode, this isn’t just about the Milky Way galaxy, right? If supplies were distributed based on performance, wouldn’t it undermine the dignity of participants from other galaxies?

As for Earth… perhaps at this moment, no one even considered how they might feel about it. *Shrugs.*

At this point, all participants who saw the scores also began to look at her. Those gazes carried too much, making her reluctant to delve into them.

Even Rong Shi was filled with surprise. He didn’t suspect Su Ge of cheating, but he couldn’t help but feel astonished that she could achieve such excellent scores. It was quite unexpected. Despite Earth being such a backward planet, its inhabitants seem to know quite a lot.

Fortunately, this awkward moment didn’t last long. After a few seconds, the director casually tapped his finger in the air, and Su Ge saw twenty identical symbols appear on the big screen.

“At the back of each symbol corresponds a grade of supplies. You can choose in the order of your sequence. However, it must be noted that each person only has one chance to choose and cannot be changed.” The director still had a smiling demeanor. He tapped on the screen in front of him, and lights lit up in front of each person.

Su Ge looked at the twenty symbols on her screen, feeling utterly baffled.

Should I say “FML” or not? Is the fairest way you could come up with just relying on luck?

Haven’t you heard the saying, “Luck won’t change fate”? Besides, Earth doesn’t even have luck! Is this luck-based method really fair?

Earth

On the large screen of the live broadcast, the director was still explaining the rules of the draw. The Interstellar Propaganda Minister sitting in the first row was a bit nervous and shifted his body slightly.

In fact, upon hearing that the distribution of supplies this time would be determined by a lottery, a completely luck-based method, he had basically given up on the supplies provided by the organizers.

Although most people in the world hope for a stroke of luck, not many would gamble everything on it.

The Propaganda Minister didn’t bother paying attention to the result of the draw. Instead, he turned to his secretary and asked, “When can our planet’s supplies be delivered to Su Ge?”

The secretary adjusted his glasses and immediately responded, “Our supplies have already been provided to the organizers. However, according to the rules of the program, all supplies from participating planets can only be distributed to the participants themselves one month after they enter the desolate star.”

“One month?” Although the Minister was well aware of these rules, he still hoped to find some loopholes in them.

The secretary sighed with a hint of resignation. As the Minister’s long time assistant, he naturally understood what was going on in the Minister’s mind. “From the perspective of variety shows, this month is crucial for the program. After one month when the supplies arrive, the gap between the participants will widen.”

From the start of the broadcast, all viewers would only know which planets were participating in the show. In other words, even Earth had only learned about the participation of all twenty planets no more than an hour ago.

Not knowing was one thing, but now that they knew, the Interstellar Propaganda Minister began to feel that this show might be risky for Earth. Earth’s initial purpose was to increase its visibility, but now with the inclusion of Royal Major General Rong Shi, the hottest figure in the entire Galactic Alliance, it’s imaginable that the number of people paying attention to Earth’s livestream might dwindle significantly.

So now, all they could hope for was not to perform too poorly throughout the entire program. It would be best if they didn’t end up at the bottom. Even though from the current situation, Earth’s performance in this livestream might very well end up at the bottom, the Interstellar Propaganda Minister still hoped for even a slight improvement.

In the hall,

The director raised his hand and flashed a seemingly harmless smile at all the participants. “Now it’s all about your luck. So—begin!”

The moment the director called out “begin,” all the viewers watching the livestream saw the participants on twenty screens reach out and tap their screens in front of them. Then, they saw the twenty symbols on each small screen start to jump around frantically.

As usual, “Wilderness Livestream” prepared supplies in three grades: three of the first grade, five of the second grade, and twelve of the third grade, tailored to the desolate planet they were heading to. So, each time the livestream was different in terms of supplies.

However, no matter what, when facing a completely unknown desolate planet, higher-grade supplies would be preferable.

At this moment, not only were the hearts of each participant jumping along with the jumping symbols, but even the viewers watching the livestream from all over the planets felt their hearts racing.

Su Ge squinted her eyes, and finally, the jumping symbols on the screen came to a halt.
