Wilderness Livestream Room
Wilderness Livestream Room | Chapter: 54

During this period of time, it had been raining on Wild Star 756, but there hadn’t been another terrifying storm like before. The rain would often stop after a few hours, and then the sun would come out and it immediately switch to barbecue mode.

In this alternating weather of sun and rain, Su Ge felt like she was about to turn into a furry stinky tofu. However, as she walked through the morning forest, she immediately dismissed her complaints about the unpredictable weather.

When she entered the forest yesterday, it was already late, and she couldn’t clearly see the condition of the entire forest. But now, it was different. Under the morning sunlight, Su Ge saw mushrooms everywhere—under the trees, on the damp fallen leaves, and on the collapsed and decaying trees.

All the hardships, exhaustion, and even complaints were thrown out of the window the moment she saw these mushrooms were completely forgotten.

She couldn’t contain her emotions and exclaimed, “Oh my god! Am I dreaming?”

Because the external environment of Wild Star 756 was so similar to Earth, and Su Ge had been accustomed to the wilderness since she was young, it was rare for her to be amazed by anything. It was the aliens around her who often got startled by things on Planet 756.

Precisely because of this, when Su Ge exclaimed, everyone felt incredulous, and they all entered a state of alertness, huddling together back to back, vigilantly watching their surroundings, like a blooming sunflower, just like every other time they encountered danger in the past few days.

Everyone tensed up, preparing for the worst, whispering lowly, “Su Ge, what did you see? What kind of creature? In which direction!”

Because everyone’s reaction speed was so fast, Su Ge was instantly surrounded. She looked at everyone’s vigilant posture, and it took her several seconds to realize what was happening. She couldn’t help but bend over with laughter. She patted Rong Shi and a few others on the shoulder, her voice carrying a relaxed tone mixed with amusement. “No, it’s not dangerous. I’m just pleasantly surprised.”

Surprised?

Only then did everyone’s tense nerves finally relax, but they still didn’t understand what Su Ge found so surprising.

Ron glanced around and didn’t notice any significant changes in the forest since they left. The vegetation on the ground was denser, but other than that, there was nothing particularly surprising.

Su Ge didn’t keep them guessing either. She scampered over to a fallen, decaying tree and asked, “Hey, do you guys want to try something different tonight?”

Different?

Of course, they did!

There were many delicacies on Earth, but due to limitations on materials, Su Ge could only make a few kinds of food. Although all the aliens were very satisfied with these foods, compared to the tasteless nutrient solution, even eating the same Earth food repeatedly felt like heaven!

But when they heard there was something new, they couldn’t help but get excited, their eyes lighting up one by one as they nodded eagerly.

“What are we eating?” they all asked in unison.

Su Ge thought, ” Different people, different tastes.” and perhaps the only time all the aliens were united in spirit was when it came to eating.

She pointed to the strange, dark-brown, chubby, bowl-shaped creatures on the tree. “It’s these.”

To be honest, if Su Ge hadn’t pointed them out, many of the aliens wouldn’t have noticed these things on the fallen tree, and even if they did, they would have just ignored them.

“What are these?”

Surrounded by the fallen tree, the aliens all wore a strange expression, and soon their attention shifted to the trees around them, discovering more of these strange creatures.

“These are black fungus,” Su Ge licked her lips. She really missed the cold mixed black fungus at home, paired with a bowl of thick millet porridge and a salted duck egg. It was simply heavenly!

As she introduced what black fungus mushroom was, she also pointed out a few places on the ground where mushrooms were growing.

This was another magical, fresh term, and the clusters of mushrooms Su Ge pointed out were obviously different from the black fungus.

The black fungus looked tender and plump, clearly indicating a good texture. In contrast, the other mushrooms grew in clusters and appeared fat and dull, giving them an ugly appearance and suggesting they might not have a good texture.

“These mushrooms look much prettier than the black fungus!” Lana and Nalita quickly grasped the knack of mushroom hunting from Su Ge’s guidance. They found a large nest of red mushrooms under a bush. Underneath the red mushroom caps, there were white frills. Wrapped in the morning light and dew, the mushrooms looked truly stunning.

“Oh, wow, these mushrooms are so beautiful! They must be delicious to eat.” Nalita’s eyes were quick, and her hands even quicker. She reached out and plucked two of them, intending to put them in her backpack.

At that moment, they heard Su Ge shout, “Quick, throw them away!”

Her shout came too suddenly, and her voice was raised, startling everyone who was picking mushrooms, including Nalita, whose hands were holding the two red mushrooms, causing them to fall to the ground.

“What… what’s wrong?” Nalita regained her voice only after seeing Su Ge rush to her, but she was still a bit uneasy, her voice stuttering.

“These can’t be eaten. These mushrooms are poisonous.” Su Ge said as she walked up and crushed the cluster of mushrooms that looked so vibrant under her foot. The accuracy and forcefulness of her kick made everyone present involuntarily swallow.

“They look so pretty, yet they’re poisonous?” Lana was still trembling a bit as she looked at the crushed mushrooms. “How can something so pretty be poisonous?”

Su Ge glanced at her, half-smiling, and said, “I’m not sure about other species, but for mushrooms, the prettier they look, the more likely they are to be poisonous. Of course, it doesn’t mean that plain-looking ones aren’t poisonous either. There are also some white mushrooms that are highly toxic.”

Clearly, the words “highly toxic” shook every alien present. Their eager gazes toward the mushrooms turned into fear. Glaki even asked, “What does a highly toxic one look like?”

“Does the kind that kills you right after eating count?” Su Ge, however, had no such concerns. On Earth, she was already considered an expert at foraging mushrooms. Knowing which mushrooms were poisonous and which weren’t was as easy as a game for her, with no difficulty at all.

“Ah!” Glaki exclaimed in shock. Besides Glaki, the other aliens, although silent, couldn’t help but be startled.

Speaking of this, Su Ge paused her movements and added, “In our country, every year, it’s not uncommon for more than a few people to die from eating mushrooms… it’s not a rare occurrence.”

The aliens were now completely afraid to proceed. Each one put down the mushrooms or black fungus in their hands and quietly stepped back. Then they heard Su Ge say, “Of course, humans naturally have weaker constitutions than you all. So, what’s highly poisonous to us might not necessarily be to you…”

The aliens were all shaking their heads with tears in their eyes: No, we’re not, we don’t, you’ve misunderstood us!

“So, let’s give it a try this afternoon!” As she spoke, Su Ge turned and gave the aliens a bright smile. But in the aliens’ eyes, that smile was no different from that of a demon from hell.

The aliens, nearly in tears: No, we aren’t that strong, we’re made of flesh too, we can get sick too, we can die too! No! Earthlings are terrifying!!!

Just as all the aliens were huddled together, trembling with fear and on the verge of tears, they suddenly saw someone casually walking towards Su Ge. He looked down and asked, “Which kinds are safe to eat?”

Su Ge glanced at Rong Shi and saw in his eyes a look of indulgence, as if he had seen through her harmless little joke long ago. She couldn’t help but feel a bit frustrated and muttered, “Can’t you just play along a little? It’s no fun.”

Su Ge, in this state, looked like a mischievous child, exceptionally adorable. Rong Shi could barely suppress his smile, and even his lips curled up. He reached out and ruffled her hair, with a mix of indulgence and helplessness, saying, “They’re almost scared to death.”

Seeing that Rong Shi had already gone over to help, the aliens belatedly realized that Su Ge might have been joking with them. The weight lifted from their hearts with a thud. Zigamadar let out a long sigh, walked over to a cluster of mushrooms, and said, “Su Ge, that joke was not funny at all.”

To his surprise, Su Ge turned her head to look at Zigamadar with an extremely serious expression and said, “Who said I was joking?”

Zigamadar felt his body stiffen again and asked, “You weren’t joking?”

By the time they finally sorted out the mushroom issue, everyone had a large bag of mushrooms. They laid them out on the ground and sorted through them. In the end, only about half were deemed safe to eat.

As for the rest, although they looked fine, since Su Ge said they were inedible, no one dared to take another look. After all, anyone would be freaked out by the idea of seeing little figures running everywhere after eating mushrooms.

The notion that mushrooms could be poisonous cast a significant psychological shadow over all the aliens.

However, when the pot of mushroom soup was ready, nearly everyone crowded around it, sniffing continuously.

In the pot of milky white soup, brown, white, and yellow mushrooms bobbed up and down. They looked like little elves hiding and playing in the bubbling soup, emitting a unique fragrance.

Since they have experience eating hotpot, stewed meat, barbecued meat, or assorted dishes multiple times, the aliens thought they had grasped the essence of Earth’s cuisine. But when this pot of mushroom soup was ready, they realized how short-sighted they had been.

It was an indescribable aroma, with a scent reminiscent of plants but distinctly not plants, combined with a special freshness and sweetness, and a hint of meatiness. In short, the mix of flavors was highly distinctive which made it unforgettable after just one whiff.

Su Ge threw a handful of chopped green onions into the boiling soup, instantly bringing it to life. The various colored mushrooms looked incredibly tempting against the backdrop of the green specks. The irresistible aroma made everyone’s mouth water.

However, before completely succumbing to the aroma, the aliens survival instincts were still struggling on the edge: “Su Ge are you sure this isn’t poisonous?”

Such things were hard to explain, so Su Ge simply served herself a bowl of mushroom soup and started eating nonchalantly. She had intended to dispel the aliens doubts, but as soon as the fresh, sweet mushroom soup entered her mouth, she couldn’t control her expression anymore. She smacked her lips vigorously, feeling as if her whole body was filled with this delightful flavor.

They say that four-legged creatures are not as tasty as two-legged ones, and two-legged ones are not as tasty as those with no legs. The ancients didn’t lie!

All the aliens reason was stumbling between the fear of death and the desire to eat their fill. Now, seeing Su Ge’s expression, no one could hold back any longer. The next moment, a group of aliens started scrambling around the pot, frantically vying for the soup.

In the live broadcast room, the audience was fortunate to witness once again the classic scene of aliens scrambling madly for a certain type of food, evoking a sense of nostalgia among everyone.

【 I remember the last time I saw them eating like this was when the safety zone had not yet been breached. They were fighting over a pot of hotpot. 】

【 Yes, yes, and at that time, they weren’t even using chopsticks very smoothly. It feels like it’s been a long time. 】

【 I have this illusion that the kids at home have all grown up. 】

【 By the way, can someone from Earth explain and introduce what mushrooms are? I haven’t seen any introduction about them on Earth’s official website! 】

【 Mushrooms aren’t plants; they’re a type of fungus. 】

【 There are two kinds of mushrooms on Earth: cultivated ones and wild ones. 】

【 Grab that Earthling in front, is it true what Su Ge said about getting poisoned from eating mushrooms? Or was she just joking 】

【 Sorry to tell you, but it’s true. However, it’s the wild mushrooms that can be poisonous. There’s no such risk with cultivated mushrooms, so you can eat those without worry. 】

【 Do all wild mushrooms cause poisoning? 】

【 No, only some do. As long as you have someone knowledgeable with you, you won’t pick poisonous mushrooms. Like our Su Ge Mei Mei, she looks like an old hand at this! 】

【 Earthling, Earthling! Is it true what Su Ge said about people can experience hallucination when running around when poisoned? 】

【 Well… if you can access Earth’s websites, you can search for posts about ‘Chinese people getting poisoned from eating mushrooms.’ You’ll get a more vivid understanding.】

【 I suddenly really want to check it out. 】

【 Me too… 】

…

Meanwhile, on Earth, the server rooms of several high-traffic portal websites suddenly experienced alarms, and then several main servers shut down one after another. The entire website began to conduct an economic examination of the issue, only to quickly discover it was not hackers as they had thought but a simple problem of a surge in traffic.

After checking the IDs, they found that all the addresses were a mess. Following these addresses, the staff at the major portal websites were soon stunned… weren’t these all addresses from the interstellar network? Weren’t these addresses from various planets within the Interstellar Alliance?

So, so?

These are all alien addresses?

My goodness, aliens are actually visiting our websites! This is too surreal!

Of course, it became even more surreal when the message boards of the portal websites quickly filled up with comments like “No universal language section, bad review!” This forced the programmers at the major portal sites to work overtime to create universal language sections, causing their hairlines to quietly recede for another centimeter…

Facing such a large influx of alien visitors, the major portal websites seemed to grasp a new opportunity. They began adding various ads and popular Earth products to attract their attention. However, surprisingly, this strategy had very little success. The aliens didn’t seem interested in these things at all.

After compiling data on alien visits, we discovered something strange. All the visiting aliens seemed interested in posts about “Chinese people getting poisoned from eating mushrooms…”

Portal site: What on earth is this all about… =.=

【 Hahahaha! I read the post about ‘Chinese people getting poisoned from eating mushrooms,’ and it was hilarious!

【 You read it too? I did as well! I laughed so hard! I was sitting alone scrolling through posts for a long time today, laughing like an idiot. My mom thought I had gone crazy!]

【 I thought it was just little people running around! Turns out there are so many different types, it’s so funny!]

【 The funniest thing is that even after getting poisoned from eating mushrooms, Chinese people persist and continue eating them the next year! Hahaha, just how obsessed are they with eating mushrooms!]

【 Aliens really haven’t seen much… On Earth, risking your life to eat something is quite common… Earthlings’ disdainful face·JPG]

【 Why are you Earthlings so obsessed with eating!]

【 There’s no way to communicate with you guys who have only ever had nutrient liquids! We’re not even on the same dimension, no room for discussion! Earthlings’ disdainful face·JPG]

【 Organizers! Why can Earthlings post such weird images! Why can’t we!]

【 You made me suddenly want to eat some mushrooms too…]

【 Me too. I was fine before reading that post, but now I really want to try it.]

【 Try getting poisoned?]

【 No, I want to try what it is that makes Earthlings risk their lives to eat it again and again… Is there really such delicious food?]

【 Now that you mention it, I also want to try it. No, I’m going to leave a message on the Earth website!]

【 We want those weird images from Earth too! Organizers! Why can’t we post them!]

【 You can post them too, as long as you have emoji packs. Innocently sitting on the ground·JPG]

【 Are these called emoji packs?]

【 We want emoji packs!]

【 We want to eat mushrooms!]

…

The increasingly busy Earth official website had grown accustomed to the sudden waves of strange comments, so when the Chief Secretary of the Minister of External Public Relations walked into his office with a stack of documents, he wasn’t surprised at all.

The Foreign Minister, who had been working overtime lately, looked up at the secretary, and even the secretary couldn’t ignore the dark circles under his eyes. “Minister, you need to get some rest…”

“I’d like to, but these aliens simply don’t give me the chance,” the minister said, putting down his pen and rubbing his face with both hands before taking a sip of strong tea. Recently, the aliens seemed to have gone crazy from watching the livestreams of Su Ge and the others eating every day.

Whatever Su Ge and her team ate today, the aliens would surely rush to the website and demand the same thing. And it wasn’t just demands; they would also mock the Earth for not being efficient enough. They complained that despite all the promotion about the “farm stay” experience, it still hadn’t opened, calling it garbage!

In short, the official Earth website was constantly flooded with these two types of comments, forcing the department ministers to work overtime every day, none of them any better off than the others.

The Foreign Minister sighed wearily, but there was a gleam of energy in his eyes. He glanced at the secretary—or rather, at the documents in the secretary’s hands—and smiled wryly. “So, what’s causing the trouble today?”

“Today there are mainly two requests: one is for mushrooms, and the other is for emojis,” the secretary said, walking up to the Foreign Minister and placing the documents on his desk. He pointed to the document about emojis. “As for the emojis, the interstellar advertising department wants to buy the copyright. Should we transfer it to the Ministry of Culture or the Department of Commerce?”

“Transfer it to both, let them figure it out themselves,” the Foreign Minister swiftly signed the document. “Any updates from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development?”

“Yes, they said they’re wrapping up the final details. If everything goes as planned, it will be ready to open in three days,” the Chief Secretary, being naturally aware of the Foreign Minister’s inquiry, referred to the “farm stay” planet.

The construction of this “farm stay” planet on the barren star was indeed the most significant recent event on Earth, with numerous departments keeping a close eye on it, eagerly awaiting its opening day.
