Gatt unlocked the red door before them with the key he held.

Mika stepped inside through an entrance just tall enough for her to pass through without crouching, where a wooden partition separated the entryway from the inner room.

“In this country, it’s customary to remove your shoes before entering a room. Mika, do you mind taking yours off?”

“Oh, is that so? We also take ours off at home too. Pardon the intrusion. Is this your house, Gatt?”

As she asked, Mika slipped off her shoes and stepped around the partition, followed by the other three.

In the center of the room stood a simple table set. Aside from that, there were no particularly eye-catching furnishings, save for a small kitchen-like area in one corner. The room was mostly unadorned, save for a single small painting on the wall. The door leading to the inner room was painted a soft yellow, like the sky of this world—a surprisingly cute touch for Gatt’s home.

Mika looked around curiously while the other three smiled and began placing items on the table one after another.

A green animal-patterned cushion. A small wooden box. The assorted cups of various sizes she had noticed earlier at the general store.

And the key Gatt had been holding.

“Mika, welcome to our world. This is your home.”

“It was supposed to be given to us after defeating the Demon King, but we arranged to borrow it early from the Guild. You’ll need a place to store your things and rest too, right?”

“These are housewarming gifts from us. We’d like you to have them.”

Gatt pointed to the items on the table.

The cushion had a delightfully squishy texture—what was inside? The small wooden box had a switch; pressing it made music play. Among the cups were ones that fit Mika perfectly, ones just right for Gatt or Zurah, and even some that only Dada could possibly use.

“We’ve placed a pot for boiling water and a magic water pitcher in the kitchen. We also bought cups for ourselves, so let’s have tea together sometime.”

There were two chairs that seemed just the right size for Mika, and three others of varying sizes.

“There’s still a lot missing for daily living, but we can gradually add things from here.”

“Ah… thank you. This is so wonderful… I’m stunned. Really, thank you.”

“Come on, let’s check out the back room too!”

Overwhelmed with emotion, Mika struggled to find words. Gatt and Zurah, laughing, took her hands and led her further inside.

The small, adorable house was just the right size—if Mika jumped, she could probably touch the ceiling. The red front door, it seemed, had been painted by the three of them in a color they thought suited her perfectly.

Beyond the yellow door were a bedroom, a toilet, and a bath. A bed frame was in place, but there were no bedding supplies yet—another item for the shopping list.

The toilet seat was an unusual shape to Mika, but it functioned like a Western-style one. A large, jar-like fixture held a seat adjusted to her size.

Many of the furnishings were designed to be usable by any race, something apparently common in most homes throughout the city.

Mika found herself impressed all over again by such a wonderful principle.

“Ownership of this place remains with the Adventurer’s Guild until the Demon King is defeated.”

Rent was still technically required, but Dada had negotiated for the Guild to cover the first year’s costs.

It wasn’t a large house, but the interior was spacious and comfortable—a one-bedroom detached home with a layout that allowed for relaxation. Its fairytale-like exterior gave it the whimsical feel of a dollhouse.

Location-wise, being near the town’s entrance gate probably meant its safety rating wasn’t the highest, but it was conveniently close to the Guild and the main shopping district—a practical place to live.

Even as noon arrived, Mika kept wandering around the house, peeking into every corner with a grin.

The remaining three exchanged glances. Gatt chuckled, as if to say “What can you do?”, then quietly slipped out to buy lunch for all four from a food stall.
