Inside the office, after receiving a guarantee from Director Zheng, Su Jiang readily signed his name on the agreement.
“Is that all then?”
Su Jiang handed a copy of the agreement to Director Zheng and said, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way.”
“Wait a moment.”
Director Zheng took the agreement, skimmed through it, then tossed it aside, looking at Su Jiang.
“You’re going to Xizhou soon, aren’t you?”
“Damn, how did you know that?”
Su Jiang was startled. Honestly, if it weren’t for Old Zhang informing him, he wouldn’t have known he was going to Xizhou.
“Since you came back from the island, your every move has been under my watch.”
“You have a peeping Tom habit?”
Director Zheng glanced at him and continued, “Anyway, when you’re in Westzhou, if you have time, find someone for me.”
“I don’t have time.”
“You do.”
“I don’t!”
“Are you planning to break the agreement?”
Director Zheng chuckled, picked up the agreement again, and waved it in front of Su Jiang.
“Casually, he said, “From the moment you signed this agreement, I became one of your superiors.”
“Honestly, I didn’t want to treat you this way.”
“But, if you refuse to accept the task I assigned, you’ll have to pay a penalty.”
Su Jiang widened his eyes upon hearing this, “There’s no such clause in that agreement!”
“It’s a hidden clause. You might have read it, but you didn’t understand it.” Director Zheng chuckled and teased, “It’s important to learn about legal knowledge during school, aren’t you a ‘three-good student’?”
These words made Su Jiang clench his fist and bite his lower lip.
He couldn’t argue back, he was truly at a disadvantage for not knowing enough about the law.
He had become a legal ignoramus.
Although Su Jiang had carefully read the content of the agreement just now.
But in reality… he didn’t understand much of it.
He only saw the monthly salary of thousands of yuan.
Holding onto the belief that “the director of the Inspectorate Bureau wouldn’t lie”, Su Jiang signed the agreement.
Looking at the smug Director Zheng in front of him, Su Jiang wished he could slap himself.
He was so stupid, so naive.
He knew Director Zheng was acquainted with An Xingchang, yet he foolishly believed Director Zheng was a good person.
Now that he thought about it, how could someone who could be friends with An Xingchang be a good person?
“Penalty… how much do I have to pay?” Su Jiang gritted his teeth.
“Not much.”
Director Zheng extended a finger.
“Ten million!”
Su Jiang remained silent.
He just stared at Director Zheng.
His eyes were filled with disdain.
Then, Su Jiang glanced at the agreement, his eyes flickering with a hint of mischief.
“I advise you not to have that thought.”
Director Zheng saw through what Su Jiang was trying to do and said directly: “If you tear up the agreement now, not only will you be held legally responsible, but you will also be wanted by the Inspectorate.”
Su Jiang took a deep breath upon hearing this.
Then, he forced a smile that was uglier than crying.
“How could I possibly have such a thought, Director?” Su Jiang flattered, adding:
“I live and die for the Inspectorate, it’s my honor to contribute to our Inspectorate, Director.”
Director Zheng looked up and said calmly: “No longer resisting?”
“Well, I was a bit young and reckless just now, I didn’t know any better, please don’t take it to heart.”
Su Jiang rubbed his hands and said cautiously: “You wanted me to go to Xizhou to find someone, right?”
“I’m not boasting, I’m the best at finding people, I have a cat, its nose is super sensitive…”
“Shut up!”
“Okay!” Su Jiang immediately shut his mouth.
Su Jiang, the obedient.
Director Zheng had a headache and rubbed his temples, Su Jiang talked too much.
“Listen, I’m not making things difficult for you.”
“If you can find the person, find them, if you can’t, I won’t blame you, but keep an eye out.”
After speaking, Director Zheng got up and took a photo from the drawer.
He handed the photo to Su Jiang.
The photo showed a man who looked about sixty years old, with half-white hair, making a scissors hand gesture towards the camera, smiling warmly.
Old rascal.
This was Su Jiang’s first impression of the man in the photo.
“His name is Ding Qiming, he’s a… scholar.”
Director Zheng paused and said: “An Xingchang and I have been looking for him for a long time, we only know that he might be in Xizhou.”
“Scholar?” Su Jiang was taken aback, his brow furrowed slightly: “You know him?”
“You don’t need to know anything else, if you see this person in Xizhou, call me immediately, understand?”
Su Jiang nodded lightly, then smiled: “Besides that, do you have any other instructions, Director?”
Director Zheng’s mouth twitched, he said: “That’s all, you can go.”
“Yes, Director!”
Su Jiang took the photo and smiled as he exited the room.
The moment he closed the door, the smile on Su Jiang’s face vanished.
“Old fox… wait for me, Great Su !”
Su Jiang gritted his teeth, he would remember this debt.
“One million, what a greedy lion’s mouth!”
Thinking about the one million penalty, Su Jiang couldn’t help but clench his fist.
He had an urge.
To put on a mask tonight, fire a gun in the wind, break into the Inspectorate, and beat up Director Zheng.
However, it was just a thought.
He was afraid of being wanted by the Inspectorate.
“Su Jiang! Where is Su Jiang?”
“Let that bastard come out, I’m going to fight him!”
Su Jiang went downstairs, halfway down the stairs, he heard Lu Zhang’s roar, his eyebrows raised.
Oh, he’s awake?
He woke up just in time.
Su Jiang was looking for someone to vent his anger on.
“What are you shouting about?”
Su Jiang walked downstairs and said to Lu Zhang: “Do you know that your voice is already considered a nuisance?”
“If this was at night, I would call and complain about you in a minute!”
Everyone had been trying to persuade Lu Zhang, but when they saw Su Jiang come down, they were speechless.
He just had to make Lu Zhang’s life miserable, didn’t he?
Someone expertly picked up a stick, ready to knock Lu Zhang unconscious.
“Lu Zhang, be careful, someone is about to ambush you!”
Su Jiang wouldn’t let Lu Zhang pass out again.
Who would he vent his anger on then?
Lu Zhang turned his head at the sound.
Old Xu’s stick froze in mid-air.
He looked at Lu Zhang with some awkwardness.
The atmosphere was silent for three seconds.
“Clang!”
Old Xu threw the stick to the ground, pointing at the Inspectorate members around him, his face full of anger.
“Who the hell threw this stick at Lu Zhang’s head?”
“If I hadn’t been quick-witted and caught this stick in mid-air, the consequences would have been unimaginable!”
“You can be so ruthless to your colleagues, do you even have a conscience?”
“Lu Zhang, don’t worry, I will definitely help you find that person, I suspect that you fainted before because of that person!”
Old Xu patted his chest towards Lu Zhang, swearing righteously that he would get him justice.
Su Jiang watched this scene, his mouth twitching.
When did the Inspectorate become so shameless?
He quietly gave Old Xu a thumbs up.
This guy was ruthless, he even cursed himself to protect himself.
Su Jiang thought he was a talent, he would have to find a way to tell Old Zheng to assign him to his team.
He already had a plan for how to get revenge on Old Zheng.
He would gradually erode Old Zheng’s authority, making him a powerless official!
