Would You Confess Your Love To A Mafia Heiress? Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Su Jiang sat down at a table with An Rou, taking the lead and eating without any reservations.

After all, he was indeed hungry. Besides the steamed dumplings in the morning, he hadn’t eaten anything until now.

Perhaps due to his extraordinary physique, Su Jiang felt hungry very quickly.

“You eat, but at least maintain some decorum!” An Rou frowned slightly, looking at Su Jiang helplessly. His eating habits made her feel a bit embarrassed.

With so many people around, their conspicuous outfits already drew attention, and Su Jiang’s lack of concern for appearances while eating attracted even more notice.

“Wow, this chicken leg is really well-roasted,” Su Jiang picked up a large chicken leg and started gnawing on it.

It had to be said that every dish at the Fengting Restaurant was meticulously prepared by top chefs, and Su Jiang was experiencing such high-quality cuisine for the first time.

“Chomp, chomp… Why aren’t you eating? You didn’t have dinner either, right?” Su Jiang asked casually while enjoying the food.

An Rou glared at him fiercely. She was hungry, but now she was almost full from being annoyed by him.

She snorted and replied irritably, “Don’t mind me, I’m not hungry.”

At that moment, a voice tinged with surprise sounded.

“Little sister An Rou, it’s been a long time since we last met.”

An Rou looked up to see Lin Hui’s punchable face, and her expression turned unpleasant.

Lin Hui’s gaze lingered on An Rou for a moment, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. He hadn’t expected An Mingjie to bring his sister out this time.

However, he didn’t dare to lay a hand on An Rou because he knew that harming her would have more severe consequences than harming An Mingjie. The An family’s affection for An Rou was well-known, and if anything happened to her, the entire An family would retaliate fiercely.

An Rou watched Lin Hui warily. They had met a few times before, and she knew this annoying guy was her brother’s archenemy.

Unconcerned by An Rou’s glare, Lin Hui casually smiled and shifted his gaze to Su Jiang, pretending not to know him and curiously asking, “This young man, you seem unfamiliar. An Rou, can you introduce me?”

In fact, as soon as Lin Hui returned home yesterday, he received Su Jiang’s information. However, he was puzzled because the information did not mention any connection between Su Jiang and the An family. Regardless of how he looked at it, Su Jiang appeared to be just an ordinary student.

He thought, as Li Cai had said, that Su Jiang was not part of the An family, but now it seems otherwise.

Lin Hui’s gaze shifted between An Rou and Su Jiang, sensing that their relationship was not ordinary.

If Su Jiang was indeed a member of the An family, then Lin Hui would have to rethink a series of plans against the An family, taking into account Su Jiang as an uncertain factor.

Seeing Lin Hui’s gaze shift from herself to Su Jiang, An Rou couldn’t help but feel a wave of panic.

She knew Lin Hui’s cunning and deceitful nature, fearing that Su Jiang might be implicated. Anxiously, she grabbed Su Jiang’s hand, wanting to quickly move away from this annoying guy.

However, Su Jiang gave her a reassuring look, gently freeing his hand from An Rou’s grasp. He casually discarded the half-eaten chicken leg in his hand, then meticulously wiped his hands with a tissue.

“Mr. Lin, seems like you forget your acquaintances easily,” Su Jiang smiled, a hint of teasing in his tone. “Didn’t we just meet at the bar yesterday? How could you forget me so soon?”

After speaking, Su Jiang tilted his head slightly, extended a hand towards Lin Hui, index and middle fingers together in the shape of a gun, then aimed at Lin Hui, making a “biu” sound, as if reenacting the scene of shooting at Lin Hui in the bar yesterday.

Seeing this, Lin Hui’s face darkened. Su Jiang’s gesture was undoubtedly humiliating him. Taking a deep breath, Lin Hui smirked, “In Jiangdu City, I have yet to see anyone dare to humiliate me like this.”

Su Jiang pointed to himself with a smile, “Well, now you have.”

“Are you really going to be relentless with my Lin family?”

“That’s up to you, I don’t mind.”

Su Jiang held An Rou’s hand, stood up, and continued, “But I must remind you, that bullet…, I’ll keep it for you, Mr. Lin, it’s better to be cautious.”

With that, Su Jiang left with An Rou, leaving Lin Hui alone in place.

Lin Hui’s face darkened, his gaze fixed on Su Jiang’s figure as he took a sip of his drink, seemingly lost in thought.

At that moment, the new bodyguard approached silently and whispered in Lin Hui’s ear, “Leader, should I gather a few brothers tonight to take care of him?”

Lin Hui lightly tapped his highball glass with his index finger, making a crisp sound, his eyes gleaming coldly.

After a moment of contemplation, he shook his head gently, “Leave this person for now.”

“He and An Rou, no one in the Lin family is allowed to act against them without my orders.”

“Yes, Leader,” the new bodyguard respectfully responded before quickly stepping back.

Lin Hui let out a slow breath. He knew he had too little information at the moment to understand Su Jiang’s true background and his connection with the An family.

Moreover, Su Jiang’s decisiveness and ruthlessness displayed yesterday were not qualities possessed by ordinary individuals.

Without complete certainty, Lin Hui would never act rashly. What he sought was a decisive strike, one that hit the mark without leaving any repercussions.

“Su Jiang! Explain yourself to me!” An Rou shook off Su Jiang’s hand, then grabbed his collar, a hint of coquettishness on her face.

“How did you end up meeting Lin Hui yesterday?”

“How did you provoke him? Why has the situation escalated to the point of no return?”

“And that gesture you just made, pretending to shoot, what does the bullet symbolize?”

“And wuwuwu…”

Su Jiang, seeing An Rou bombarding him with questions, had a sudden inspiration and, like An Mingjie, gently pinched An Rou’s mouth.

An Rou was startled by Su Jiang’s sudden move, her eyes widening in surprise as her mouth was covered, only able to make muffled sounds of “wuwuwu,” angrily waving her hands and patting Su Jiang’s hand away.

“Smack, smack, smack!”

“Su Jiang, you’ve got some nerve, daring to pinch this lady’s mouth?” An Rou’s eyes were blazing with anger as she glared at Su Jiang, as if she could breathe fire.

Seeing this, Su Jiang realized he couldn’t keep it from her any longer.

With no other choice, he had to lay out in detail what had happened at the bar with Lin Hui yesterday.

Of course, he omitted a small portion of the content…

Well, he pretty much left out everything.

Su Jiang only told An Rou that he coincidentally met Lin Hui at the bar yesterday, and inadvertently offended him.

As for the bullet, Su Jiang explained that after the conflict, he threatened Lin Hui, saying he would feed him bullets.

However, despite Su Jiang’s seemingly truthful explanation, An Rou rolled her eyes, not believing a single word.

She could clearly sense the atmosphere between Su Jiang and Lin Hui just now, and it was definitely not as simple as a minor conflict as Su Jiang described.

And she wasn’t naive; she knew that Su Jiang’s lies were out of protection and goodwill towards her. Instead of pressing further, she pretended to believe the fabricated story.

“Anyway, in the future, stay away from Lin Hui. If there’s really any grudge, I’ll talk to my brother and see if he can help you resolve it.”

Pointing at Su Jiang’s nose, An Rou earnestly advised, her tone tinged with concern.

Su Jiang obediently nodded in agreement, but inwardly, he couldn’t help but wryly smile.

There was no way An Mingjie could resolve this; unless he directly wiped out the Lin family.

However, after meeting An Mingjie, Su Jiang had also become more vigilant towards Lin Hui.

Though their time together was short, Su Jiang could sense An Mingjie’s formidable presence. If Lin Hui could match wits with An Mingjie, he certainly wasn’t as simple as he appeared on the surface.

The effectiveness of yesterday’s encounter at the bar was largely due to Lin Hui’s carelessness and underestimation of Su Jiang.

But now, Lin Hui had started to take Su Jiang seriously, and his vigilance and defenses would be greatly heightened. Opportunities like yesterday would be hard to come by again.
