Would You Confess Your Love To A Mafia Heiress? Chapter 34

Chapter 34: About Love

For a moment, all three of them were at a loss, and the atmosphere turned slightly awkward.

An Rou was the first to react and quickly interjected with a smile, “Sister Qiuna, since he’s paid, you should accept it. You can treat me to a meal next time!”

With a hint of resignation, Qiuna said, “Fine, but next time, it can’t be like this again.”

Su Jiang chuckled awkwardly. He felt that since it was his first time visiting her store, it wouldn’t be right to take things for free.

“By the way, have you taken your cat to a pet hospital for a check-up? Stray cats like this often have various diseases,” Qiuna inquired.

An Rou shook her head. Su Jiang had only found Fugui yesterday, so they hadn’t had the chance to take it to a pet hospital yet.

But Su Jiang reassured, “It’s fine, there’s nothing majorly wrong with its health.”

He had specifically asked Fugui while bathing it yesterday if it had any diseases.

Fugui had adamantly indicated that it was a healthy little cat.

“How do you know?” Qiuna asked in confusion, wondering if this guy might be a veterinarian.

“Uh… I had a veterinarian friend come over and check it out,” Su Jiang made up an excuse casually. He couldn’t say that the cat told him, could he? That would be ridiculous. Su Jiang didn’t want to be labeled as crazy.

“You have a veterinarian friend?” An Rou turned her head and casually asked, “Male or female?”

“Uh… male!” Su Jiang immediately became alert, then added, “And he’s quite old.”

An Rou glanced at him with her beautiful eyes, grudgingly believing him.

Su Jiang’s mind was racing, already considering where to find a male veterinarian to befriend.

He remembered that Jiang University seemed to have a veterinary department. He’d have to find an opportunity to check it out.

If An Rou ever found out that he lied to her, he’d probably get another beatdown.

His waist was still sore from the pinch marks An Rou had left on him earlier.

With their shopping done, Qiuna, who hadn’t seen An Rou in a while, wanted to chat with her, especially about Su Jiang.

Qiuna whispered a few words into An Rou’s ear. An Rou blinked, then asked Su Jiang to buy her some milk tea.  This was her way of getting rid of Su Jiang so she could have a private chat with Qiuna.

“What? That milk tea shop is so far away!” Su Jiang checked the navigation and found that the shop An Rou mentioned was three kilometers away.

“Isn’t there a similar shop nearby?” Su Jiang put his phone in front of An Rou, pointing to a milk tea shop listed on it.  He didn’t understand, “Why do you have to make me go so far?”

“Oh, just go!” An Rou pushed his phone away and pushed Su Jiang out of the store. “I want that specific one, if you buy me one from the nearby shop, you’re dead!”

Su Jiang was pushed out of the store, turned around, and stared at An Rou for a moment, teasingly asking, “What are you and Sister Qiuna talking about that I can’t hear?”

“Oh, just go!” An Rou, realizing Su Jiang had caught on, immediately started acting cute and shook his arm.

“We’ll chat for just a bit and then we’ll leave, very soon,” An Rou assured Su Jiang, extending her hand and looking at him with bright, lively eyes. “I promise, once you’re back with the milk tea, we’ll head home.”

With a cute smile that melted Su Jiang’s heart in an instant, he felt powerless and went to buy the milk tea.

Unable to resist An Rou’s charm, he couldn’t help but comply with her request.

“Take your time, no rush!” An Rou waved and smiled at Su Jiang’s retreating figure.

As she turned around, she noticed Qiuna standing at the door, looking at her with a smile that stretched from ear to ear.

“I never expected it, our little An Rou can actually act cute,” Qiuna teased, causing An Rou to blush instantly.

“So, what’s the deal between you two now? Has he confessed his feelings to you?” This was the question that Qiuna was most eager to know.

An Rou was taken aback. Confession?

It seemed like there had been a confession, but at that time, An Rou and Su Jiang weren’t close at all, and she had even sort of kidnapped him.

“Huh…” An Rou hesitated for a moment, then decided to explain Su Jiang’s bold confession.

“What?! Confessing in front of the whole class and the teacher?!” Qiuna was shocked, covering her mouth, then quickly asked, “And what about you? Did you accept?”

An Rou shook her head. How could she have accepted back then when she felt like throttling Su Jiang?

“Does your brother know about this?” Qiuna inquired.

“He probably does, they’ve met each other already.”

“Oh my goodness!” Qiuna was once again shocked. She couldn’t believe that An Mingjie had already met Su Jiang.

Seeing Su Jiang standing proudly beside An Rou, it indicated that An Mingjie had approved of him. But Qiuna couldn’t understand what An Mingjie saw in Su Jiang apart from his slightly good looks.

Was it possible that An Mingjie appreciated something ordinary about Su Jiang?

She hope An Rou to have a quiet and simple resolution to this situation.

Qiuna was unsure; she couldn’t decipher An Mingjie’s thoughts. Few people in Jiangdu City could understand what went on in An Mingjie’s mind.

Deciding to talk to Li Cai, she planned to gather more information starting from her young cousin. Li Cai was always by An Mingjie’s side, so he might know more about what was going on.

The curiosity burning in Qiuna’s eyes couldn’t be contained any longer. She wished she could call Li Cai right away, but she knew it was impossible. An Jia and Feng families were at odds, and though it was unlikely to impact her directly, Li Cai had advised her to avoid contacting family members for a while.

An Rou was an exception. Currently, no one dared to harm her, fearing she might be a bait set by An Mingjie.

“What about you?” Qiuna turned to An Rou again, asking, “Don’t tell me you don’t like him. Even a blind person can see that you both like each other.”

“Are you planning to wait for him to confess, or will you take the initiative?” Qiuna inquired.

Upon hearing this, An Rou’s face turned red to the roots of her ears. She lowered her head, playing with her delicate fingers, and softly said, “I… I don’t know what to do either. It’s the first time I’ve been in this kind of situation.”

Seeing the situation, as someone experienced in such matters, Qiuna could tell that An Rou wasn’t prepared yet and wasn’t ready to take the initiative.

It seemed that for the window to be opened, it would require Su Jiang to make a move. Qiuna realized that An Rou needed more time.

Qiuna never expected the once willful and stubborn young lady to display such a gentle and vulnerable side. An Rou was changing gradually with Su Jiang’s presence.

Likewise, Su Jiang was adapting to An Rou, and her presence was becoming more prominent in his life. Even though neither of them was consciously aware of this change, their hearts were slowly coming closer.

Eventually, they would understand this change, realizing the hidden affection they had for each other buried deep within.

On that day, without anyone needing to speak first, they would naturally come together.

“It’s okay, An Rou,” Qiuna smiled gently, like a caring older sister, patting An Rou’s head.
