Half an hour later, An Rou and Qiuna were chatting and laughing. Su Jiang arrived carrying two cups of milk tea.
“Oh, you’re back?” Qiuna smiled as she got up, taking the milk tea from Su Jiang, apologizing slightly, “Thank you for going all the way.”
Su Jiang shook his head, not bothered at all. To him, it was like going for a stroll.
Handing An Rou her milk tea, she hesitated to take it, causing Su Jiang to look at her curiously.
“I don’t want it,” An Rou smiled at Su Jiang, “Milk tea is too sweet and will make you gain weight. I don’t like it.”
“Then why did you ask me to buy it?” Su Jiang sighed. This girl was quite good at teasing people.
“You should drink it; Qiuna says this flavor is really good,” An Rou insisted.
Taking the milk tea, she inserted a straw and held it to Su Jiang’s mouth, saying, “Just try it.”
Normally, Su Jiang didn’t drink milk tea. He thought it was expensive and not as good as other drinks. However, since An Rou offered it, he took a sip, and his eyes lit up.
“Wow, this is really good!” Su Jiang took another big sip, finding the taste even better than he had imagined. No wonder so many people enjoyed milk tea.
“Really?” An Rou was intrigued by his reaction. Could it really be that good?
He handed it back to her to try, but found it too sweet for her liking after taking a sip.
“Too sweet, I guess I still can’t get used to it.” An Rou furrowed her delicate brows and tossed the milk tea to Su Jiang.
Su Jiang took it, looking at the straw, then back at An Rou. Was that considered an indirect kiss just now?
An Rou realized what had happened too. The straw she had just used was passed from Su Jiang. Her face turned crimson as she quickly changed the subject, avoiding any awkwardness.
“Um, well, Sister Qiuna, we should head off now. We’ll come visit you another time!” An Rou didn’t wait for Qiuna’s response, walking towards the door, regardless of whether Su Jiang followed or not.
Her heart was in turmoil. Had she just indirectly kissed Su Jiang? Would he misunderstand?
Su Jiang looked at An Rou’s back in a daze, helplessly saying, “Wait, we haven’t even picked up the things we bought.”
Qiuna couldn’t help but chuckle. Picking up their purchases, she handed them to Su Jiang, concernedly saying, “Can you manage? It’s quite heavy. I’ll ask An Rou to help you carry some.”
“No need, Sister Qiuna, I can handle it.” Su Jiang smiled, holding all the items with one hand, seemingly effortless.
Qiuna was slightly surprised. She hadn’t realized that despite his seemingly lean physique, Su Jiang had such strength.
“An Rou can be a bit spoiled sometimes, just be patient with her,” Qiuna looked at Su Jiang with a serious expression. “She hasn’t had much experience with guys before, so I hope that whatever happens, you won’t let her get hurt.”
Su Jiang gazed at the figure standing outside, a hint of tenderness in his eyes, and softly replied, “Don’t worry, I won’t.”
As they walked out, the blush on An Rou’s face had faded. Seeing Su Jiang carrying so many things, she remembered that she had been too preoccupied with her embarrassment and forgot Fugui’s supplies.
Hurriedly approaching him, she apologized, “Let me help you carry some.”
Glancing around, An Rou didn’t notice how she could help Su Jiang with the load.
“You can carry the milk tea,” Su Jiang chuckled and handed the drink to An Rou.
“Oh…” An Rou took the milk tea, blushing slightly. While Su Jiang was saying goodbye to Qiuna, she took a small sip.
“Wow, it’s so sweet!” An Rou stuck out her tongue. Nevertheless, she found it quite tasty.
“Goodbye, Sister Qiuna!” An Rou waved her small hand. Su Jiang, with both hands full, could only nod slightly to Qiuna.
As they walked along, they passed by a pet store. An Rou seemed to have an idea and stopped in her tracks.
“What’s up?” Su Jiang asked, puzzled. What was this girl up to now?
“Hmm…” An Rou pondered for a moment, then feigned concern, saying, “I noticed you only have one pair of slippers at home.”
“And?”
“If uncles or aunts or guests come to your house, it’s not good to have only one pair of slippers. Wait here,” An Rou said before quickly running into the store. A few minutes later, she returned with two pairs of slippers.
“Here! You wear this pair at home from now on.” An Rou presented a pair of blue slippers, then pointed to the other pink pair, “This pair is mine. No one else is allowed to wear it except me!”
Seeing this, Su Jiang chuckled, “What about the slippers I had before?”
An Rou tilted her head, pondered for a moment, and said, “Um… keep it for guests? Oh, never mind, you can only wear the pair I bought for you!”
An Rou was feeling quite domineering at the moment, her slender legs ready to pounce. It seemed like if Su Jiang dared to object, An Rou would jump up and step on him.
Seeing Su Jiang agree, An Rou’s face lit up with a smile, feeling pleased.
Later, they hailed a cab at the intersection, but this time, it was An Rou who hailed the cab.
Su Jiang stood by, and as he glanced at An Rou’s milk tea, he couldn’t help but wonder why it was only half-full now.
Seeing An Rou staring at her phone and occasionally sipping from it, Su Jiang was speechless.
Who was it that claimed to dislike milk tea the most?
It was the little dog named An Rou.
Su Jiang felt a bit disappointed. He had thought the milk tea was quite tasty, but now he couldn’t even have a sip.
As they arrived home and pushed the door open, they were stunned by what they saw.
Fugui, the little tabby cat, was lying on the balcony, holding a piece of ham sausage in its paws, nibbling away. Upon hearing the door open, Fugui froze for a moment, turned its little head, and stared blankly at Su Jiang and An Rou.
It seemed like Fugui was caught red-handed in the act, much like a mischievous culprit.
“Oops!” An Rou exclaimed softly, running to the balcony and picking up Fugui. “Why are you here eating ham sausage, little cat? Are you hungry?”
Su Jiang’s lips twitched as he looked at the scattered plastic packaging from the ham sausage.
He could understand eating the ham sausage, but how did this silly cat manage to open the plastic packaging? And so neatly at that.
“Meow!” ‘Sorry!’
Caught in the act, Fugui chose to apologize immediately without making excuses.
Despite the mess, Fugui’s sincere apology earned it a reprieve from Su Jiang.
Excitedly, An Rou then showed Fugui the things they had bought.
“Fugui, look, this is your little cat bed,” An Rou brought over the cat bed that was placed aside, then picked up the litter box. “And this here is the litter box, in the future…”
An Rou continued to explain the uses of these items to Fugui enthusiastically, and the cat’s eyes sparkled with interest.
“Meow meow meow!” The cat meowed appreciatively, feeling fulfilled in life!
Seeing this, Su Jiang couldn’t help but twitch his lips. How dissatisfied was this cat with its previous life that it now felt so fulfilled?
Was this all it took to make you content, buddy?
Absolutely ridiculous!
