“What did you say? The factory in the outskirts was bombed?”
In the Feng family, Feng Chengye was instantly furious upon hearing this news, while his subordinates before him trembled in fear.
“Who did this? An Mingjie?”
“Where did he get this information, and where did he get the manpower?”
Feng Chengye frowned in contemplation, unable to understand how An Mingjie could have accomplished this if it was indeed his doing. He had arranged surveillance on the core members and most of the staff of the An family, so he should have been notified of any disturbances.
It was only due to Li Cai’s negligence that An Mingjie managed to create a major distraction, drawing most of Feng Chengye’s attention and giving Li Cai the opportunity to slip out of surveillance.
Is it possible that Li Cai alone could have bombed such a large factory?
“Nonsense. If Li Cai really had that capability, the An family would have already risen to power.”
“Head of the family, by the time we arrived at the factory, it was already too late. Many of our brothers were killed on the spot, and several others were injured and are now in the hospital.”
One subordinate’s face was difficult to hide the sorrow, commenting on how cruel it was for such a factory to be bombed without any regard for the rules of combat.
Unbeknownst to them, Su Jiang didn’t care much about that. After all, the dead were all from the underworld, working in a weapons factory—were there any good people among them?
Blowing them all up could be considered purifying the air.
“We also found this person at the scene.”
With that, several people brought a stretcher in front of Feng Chengye. On it lay Wu Chengren, who had been thrown to the scene by Li Cai.
“He has multiple burns and is currently in a coma. We investigated his appearance and found out that…”
“What did you find out?” Feng Chengye’s voice was low. Seeing his subordinate hesitating, he felt a foreboding sense of unease.
The Feng family member, trembling under Feng Chengye’s gaze, braced himself and said:
“This person’s name is Wu Chengren. Ten years ago, he was the top assassin for the Liu family, the leading family of the Dragon Head. Later, it seems he was taken under Lin Hui’s command…”
He did not continue with the rest of the information, believing that his point had been made clear.
Wu Chengren was someone from Lin Hui’s side!
And Lin Hui’s people appeared near the factory.
Feng Chengye quickly understood that Lin Hui was likely trying to take advantage of the situation.
No, perhaps Lin Hui had already joined forces with An Mingjie, intending to eliminate the Feng family first and then compete with each other?
“Indeed, with this, An Mingjie’s crazy actions make complete sense.”
Feng Chengye realized, his fists clenched tightly and his teeth gritted, his eyes filled with rage.
“The Lin family and the An family have teamed up to kick us out before the Wang family moves in. This way, they can act without any interference.”
“What a scheme. On the surface, they fight every day, but secretly, they’re colluding!”
A wave of helplessness surged in his heart. If the An family truly allied with the Lin family, the hope of victory seemed extremely slim.
Feng Chengye looked around at the Feng family members with a touch of desolation in his eyes.
“Is it that the Feng family is doomed to be wiped out?”
Below, the Feng family members, hearing their head’s despairing words, all lowered their heads, their expressions forlorn.
If even the head of the family has lost hope, what can they do?
“Ah, it seems today isn’t the right time, is it?”
Suddenly, a voice with a hint of mockery sounded in the quiet hall, drawing everyone’s attention.
A young man with a smile on his face slowly walked into the Feng family estate.
Behind him was a woman holding a firearm. Her glamorous face had faint traces of blood, and her eyes scanned the Feng family members with a feral intensity.
“Y-you, who are you?”
“How did you get in? What happened to the guards outside?”
“Protect the head of the family!”
In an instant, everyone acted as if facing a grave threat, pulling out their weapons and preparing for battle.
“Don’t be so nervous. I mean no harm to you; I’m here to discuss cooperation.”
The man, with a smile, looked at Feng Chengye, completely ignoring the guns pointed at him by the Feng family members.
“Head of the Feng family, allow me to introduce myself. I am Wei Tian, from the capital.”
Wei Tian spoke politely, then suddenly remembered something and added, “You should be familiar with the forces in the capital. The surname Wei represents something significant in Beijing.”
Upon hearing this, Feng Chengye’s eyes widened, and as soon as he heard “Beijing Wei family,” he shouted without hesitation:
“Put down the guns, everyone!”
“Quickly!”
The Feng family members were unsure why Feng Chengye was so alarmed, but it was clear that they were likely no match for this man, Wei Tian.
Thus, everyone complied and lowered their weapons. Feng Chengye pushed aside those blocking him and walked forward with determined steps, keeping a close eye on Wei Tian.
As the head of a family, Feng Chengye naturally had some knowledge of the major forces in Beijing, the center of China’s power.
The Wei family in Beijing is undoubtedly a dominant family!
Their overall strength even surpasses that of the Dragon Head family!
Not only can they not be provoked by the Feng family, but even the Wang family in the gray area cannot afford to offend them.
“Head of the Feng family, you’re indeed a smart person. It’s much easier to talk when you understand the situation.”
Seeing the Feng family members’ nervousness, Wei Tian’s lips curled into a playful smile. He casually walked over to the sofa, sat down elegantly as if he were at home.
On the table were fresh fruits. He picked one up, took a light bite, and the juice burst out.
The woman with the gun silently stood behind Wei Tian, her eyes sharp and disdainful as she scanned each Feng family member, as if they were a group of ants.
Feng Chengye stared at Wei Tian, his voice tinged with caution.
“I wonder why Young Master Wei has come all the way from Beijing to our Feng family. What is your purpose?”
“As I mentioned earlier, I’m here to discuss cooperation with you.”
A flash of sharpness crossed Feng Chengye’s eyes. “What kind of cooperation?”
Wei Tian chuckled, his smile revealing a hint of cunning. “Given the Feng family’s current situation, you probably don’t need me to elaborate. I can lend you a hand to help you get through this crisis. Of course, I also have my own conditions.”
Naturally, Feng Chengye’s heart sank. He had long anticipated that Wei Tian would not help without a reason.
He took a deep breath and asked solemnly, “So, what are Young Master Wei’s conditions?”
Wei Tian stood up, walked over to Feng Chengye, and leaned in slightly, speaking in a low voice:
“When the Feng family becomes the top family in Jiangdu, you will need to hand over the family’s token to me. Furthermore, from that moment on, the Feng family must swear allegiance to the Wei family.”
Feng Chengye’s expression immediately became serious. Handing over the family token would mean surrendering the entire family to be at the mercy of others.
“What’s wrong? Head of the Feng family, are you unwilling?”
Wei Tian noticed Feng Chengye’s hesitation and continued, “Given the situation I have, the Feng family has no chance of winning and will certainly be defeated by the An family!”
“Will your resistance have any meaning then?”
“All I need is your loyalty. When the Wei family makes a move to become the ruling family, your support will be required. Otherwise, you will not be constrained or used as cannon fodder.”
Hearing this, Feng Chengye’s expression softened. His biggest concern was being used as cannon fodder by the Wei family.
After speaking, Wei Tian returned to the sofa and quietly watched Feng Chengye, waiting for his answer.
For a moment, the Feng family was silent, with only the sound of Wei Tian eating an apple breaking the stillness. Many Feng family members looked to Feng Chengye, knowing that his decision would determine the fate of the entire family.
