Would You Confess Your Love To A Mafia Heiress? Chapter 55

Chapter 55: Miss’s Love Support Group.

In the courtyard of the An family, An Rou wore pink slippers, while Su Jiang had his hands in his pockets as they walked side by side towards the family’s dining hall.

There were An family members around who seemed eager to eavesdrop, but as soon as An Rou gave them a stern look, they quickly distanced themselves.

Su Jiang found it amusing to see how afraid the An family members were of An Rou.

“Su Jiang, what were you talking about with my brother just now?” An Rou suddenly asked.

“Nothing much, just casual conversation…”

“Don’t try to brush me off; I’m not naive.”

An Rou interrupted Su Jiang, looking at him seriously with a hint of anger in her eyes.

“You’ve avoided talking to me in front of my brother several times, and Li Cai was there too. I don’t know what you were discussing, but I’m sure it was something dangerous that you didn’t want me to hear.”

“And the confrontation you had with Lin Hui at the restaurant before, it couldn’t have been just a minor disagreement.”

“Su Jiang, I’m not that foolish. I know you and my brother have my best interests at heart, but I’m genuinely worried about both of you.”

As An Rou spoke, her eyes were slightly red, and her tone carried a hint of resentment.

Looking at An Rou in this state, Su Jiang was at a loss for what to do. A drop of sweat trickled down his forehead; he truly had never dealt with this kind of situation before.

It was evident that their actions with An Mingjie had already made An Rou aware of something amiss. However, this little girl had kept it bottled up until now, indicating that she had mentally prepared herself for this conversation.

Moreover, last night, An Rou must have sensed that something was off. After all, the excuses he and Li Cai came up with did have quite a few loopholes.

Just as Su Jiang was feeling conflicted, An Rou lowered her head, disregarding the gazes of the An family members in the distance, and threw herself into Su Jiang’s arms, wrapping her arms around him.

“I really don’t want to be protected like this all the time. I am part of the An family, and I have responsibilities too.”

“I just want to do my best and face things together with you all.”

“I won’t cause you trouble; when you want me to run, I’ll run, and I won’t do things you don’t want me to do.”

“Those dangerous things, I won’t participate, but at least let me know, okay? I don’t want to be kept in the dark and worry about you all by myself…”

An Rou buried her head firmly in Su Jiang’s chest, softly expressing her inner thoughts.

Su Jiang slowly raised his palm, placing it on An Rou’s head, gently stroking her hair with a hint of tenderness in his eyes.

Yes, he and An Mingjie were only thinking about protecting An Rou and keeping her out of these matters, but they had never considered An Rou’s feelings.

She had been protected and pampered by the family all this time without making any contributions, and An Rou felt guilty inside.

At that moment, Su Jiang made a decision.

“Okay, whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you.” Su Jiang’s voice was gentle. He no longer wanted to keep things from An Rou.

Whether it was because of their relationship or because An Rou was a member of the An family, she deserved to know.

What? An Mingjie disagrees?

A good beating would solve that.

“Really?”

An Rou lifted her head, her eyes red as she looked at Su Jiang, afraid he might change his mind.

“Really.” Su Jiang paused, then added, “If your brother disagrees, I’ll handle it.”

Upon hearing this, a smile bloomed on An Rou’s face. She tiptoed and kissed Su Jiang on the cheek.

“Thank you, Su Jiang.”

Her face blushed slightly as she whispered softly in Su Jiang’s ear, “I feel really fortunate to have met you.”

I’m also grateful that I chose to confess to you back then, Su Jiang thought as he gently embraced An Rou.

Click click click…

The sound of cameras clicking continuously filled the air, alerting them both as they scanned their surroundings.

Who the heck is taking sneaky photos at a time like this?

The group of onlookers from the An family immediately put away their phones, turned their heads away, and looked up at the sky, whistling.

Clatter!

A member’s phone slipped out of their pocket and fell to the ground, with the flash still on.

“Uh… who the hell turned on my flashlight? Seriously, next time, don’t do this!”

The An family member picked up the phone without changing expression, quickly left the scene, muttering to themselves, “This is weird, how did the flashlight turn on…”

An Rou’s face turned red to the roots of her ears. She was so engrossed in talking to Su Jiang that she forgot they were in the An family courtyard, surrounded by a bunch of curious onlookers.

In embarrassment and anger, she shouted at those people:

“Delete those pictures!!!”

“Miss, we really didn’t take any!”

They refused to admit to taking photos, joking around. It was rare to see An Rou in such a state, especially voluntarily kissing Su Jiang.

They would rather die than delete those photos. This could become a treasured heirloom of the An family, a photo to be passed down through generations.

To avoid getting caught by An Rou, they quickly left the scene. As they departed, they whispered to each other.

“Hey, buddy, I didn’t capture that angle well, send me a copy.”

“I’ll send you one, but you owe me.”

“Damn, you…”

“I also captured the moment when Miss kissed him.”

“I’ll send it to you, send me yours quickly.”

“I sent it, send me a copy…”

“Let’s create a group, an entry fee of ten bucks.”

And so, unbeknownst to An Rou, a group named “Miss’s Love Support Group” was quietly established.

In the group, all were fun-loving people from the An family.

“Let’s go, aren’t you hungry?” Su Jiang saw that An Rou still wanted to confront them about deleting the photos and quickly stopped her.

He couldn’t joke around about such precious photos; he wouldn’t allow An Rou to destroy them.

He turned back to ask those brothers for the photos.

Especially the photo of An Rou kissing his cheek, no matter the cost, he would buy it.

It must be cherished.

“Hmph!”

An Rou, being pulled by Su Jiang, let out a soft snort and glanced back somewhat unwillingly. Although it wasn’t the first time she had been secretly photographed, she still felt embarrassed.

“This time, let them off the hook. I’ll have my brother teach them a lesson later!”

After saying these words with resentment, An Rou continued walking with Su Jiang, quickly arriving at the dining hall.

“Miss, you have arrived.”

Approaching them was a middle-aged man in a suit, whom Su Jiang found somewhat familiar.

“Su Shao, it’s been a long time.”

The middle-aged man greeted Su Jiang and then introduced himself, “I am the steward of the An family. You can call me Steward Xu. We met when you first came to the An family.”

“I remember, you were the one who made me a cup of tea back then, right!”

As Steward Xu mentioned this, Su Jiang remembered. It was indeed Steward Xu who had prepared tea for him when he first met An Mingjie at the An family.

Steward Xu smiled and nodded, exuding a friendly demeanor.

“Don’t call me Su Shao[1]Junior Su, and no need for formalities, just call me Xiao Jiang.”

Su Jiang quickly explained that he still isn’t accustomed to being called “Su Shao,” let alone being addressed with “您.”

Steward Xu smiled and nodded, always respecting others’ wishes.

“Uncle Xu has been with our family for a long time. He was there from the beginning when my father and he established the An family. We all hold him in high regard.”

An Rou introduced Su Jiang to Steward Xu and then placed her hands behind her back, smiling mischievously as she said to Steward Xu, “Uncle Xu, we’re going to the dining hall to eat!”

“Alright, follow me.”

Steward Xu’s face displayed an indulgent smile as he led them into the dining hall.
