The next morning, Su Jiang and An Rou went to school together.
They walked side by side, and Su Jiang kept rubbing his shoulder, where there was still a row of teeth marks, covered by his clothes.
Catching a glimpse of An Rou beside him, Su Jiang felt a little lucky.
Luckily, An Rou, in her last moments of biting, had forgotten about the note.
It wasn’t even considered a bite.
“Buzz…”
His phone vibrated. Su Jiang pulled it out and saw a message from Yang Ming.
“Both sides have engaged in battle, An family has the advantage.”
Wow, An Mingjie is good!
Su Jiang raised his eyebrows, “Looks like I don’t need to take action.”
As it neared eight o’clock, the two walked into the classroom.
It’s not sure if it was because of the influence of being around Su Jiang, but An Rou, who used to arrive at the classroom early, now entered the classroom at the last minute, just like Su Jiang.
Zhang Yu was on the podium, preparing for his final lesson of the semester.
Seeing Su Jiang and An Rou walk in side by side, Zhang Yu raised his eyebrows and said nothing.
Because they were late, only the front row seats were left.
Su Jiang didn’t care if it was the front row or not. He sat down and immediately fell asleep.
Zhang Yu just glanced at him and left him alone, as if he’d grown accustomed to his student’s antics.
Sleep away, who could possibly sleep more than you!
“Ahem… Today is our last class,” Zhang Yu cleared his throat, surveying the students. “I know what you’re all thinking, but starting next year, the school has explicitly stated that they will no longer be providing exam key points for students.”
The students groaned in despair.
“But,” Zhang Yu changed his tone, opening his slides on the big screen and pointing to a few sections. “These highlighted chapters are the key points!”
The students erupted in cheers.
Su Jiang woke up with a jolt.
The room was filled with flashes, almost like a press conference.
“The third subsection of Chapter 5, I personally, really love it!”
“The problems at the end of Chapter 7 are very interesting, you can try doing them.”
“I’ve noticed recently that some students still don’t quite understand the key points of the Lagrange Mean Value Theorem, I suggest you all delve deeper into it in your free time.”
“…”
Zhang Yu truly is a veteran teacher.
He never explicitly mentioned the key points, but every word was a key point.
An Rou was taking notes diligently beside him. Su Jiang blinked, a little confused.
Why did I even wake up?
I already knew everything about calculus, right?
I guess it’s just ingrained in the DNA of university students. When it comes to key points, you can’t sleep at all.
Especially when someone next to you is diligently taking notes, how can you sleep?
“Okay, that’s it for this class, class dismissed!”
Zhang Yu had only spoken for half an hour, but he had covered all the key points, directly dismissing the class without any hesitation.
“Woohoo!”
The students cheered, packing their things and rushing out the door.
At this moment, there was nothing more blissful than taking a nap.
“Su Jiang, stay behind.” Zhang Yu said calmly.
Su Jiang paused, turning his head in disbelief.
He’d already taken half a step out the door, and you’re asking me to stay?
“Hee hee!”
An Rou, with a mischievous smile, walked outside the classroom and waited for Su Jiang.
“Sigh~~” Su Jiang sighed, reluctantly heading back.
“Old… Teacher Zhang, is there something you wanted to talk to me about?” Su Jiang forced a smile.
“What do you think?” Zhang Yu replied irritably. “The advanced mathematics competition is in half a month, so you’d better focus on it.”
As he finished speaking, he glanced at An Rou, who was standing by the door, and said earnestly, “Remember, it’s okay to be in a relationship, but your academic future is just as important, understand?”
“With your talent in mathematics, if you work hard, you’ll definitely make a name for yourself in the field…”
Zhang Yu went on and on, using various PUA (manipulative) tactics in his speech.
Su Jiang stared at the ground, wondering if he should take An Rou to have grilled cold noodles later.
“Alright, I’ve said everything I needed to say. Just remember, you must be responsible for your own life!”
Hmm, I mustn’t add cilantro to the grilled cold noodles later, Su Jiang thought to himself.
After being dismissed by Zhang Yu, Su Jiang felt a huge sense of relief—the semester’s classes were finally all done.
“Buzz buzz—”
Just as he was planning to take An Rou to eat grilled cold noodles, his phone suddenly vibrated in his pocket.
Su Jiang, puzzled, took out his phone. It was a message from Yang Ming.
“The An family was attacked by Rose, and Li was shot.”
“The An family is at a disadvantage, and the situation doesn’t look good.”
Su Jiang’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Aren’t we bros?
A few hours ago, didn’t you just tell me that the An family was in a favorable position?
The twists and turns in the entertainment industry aren’t even this fast!
“What happened?”
Seeing Su Jiang’s troubled expression, An Rou leaned over and also saw the content on his phone.
“What? Brother Li Cai was shot?!”
An Rou exclaimed, covering her mouth, her eyes filled with worry.
Li Cai was shot—what about An Mingjie? What about the other members of the An family?
How much damage did the An family suffer in this attack?
Without hesitation, Su Jiang immediately called Yang Ming.
“Ring… ring…”
“Hello, Yang Ming, what’s the current situation? How much damage did the An family sustain?”
“Su Jiang, calm down and listen to me first.”
Yang Ming’s voice was much calmer than Su Jiang’s, and he immediately began to explain the situation on the isolated battlefield.
“A few hours ago, the An family was in conflict with the Feng family. Under An Mingjie’s command, the An family gained the upper hand, and their advantage was growing.”
“But,” he continued with a change in tone, “Blood Rose led Wei Tian’s forces and suddenly joined the battle. Even though An Mingjie had anticipated this, he still underestimated Rose’s strength.”
“At a critical moment, Li Cai took a bullet for An Mingjie. An Mingjie immediately ordered the An family members to scatter and flee, which minimized the damage.”
“Currently, the Feng family’s forces are fully focused on searching for and eliminating the scattered members of the An family. If An Mingjie doesn’t come up with another plan, the An family might…”
Yang Ming didn’t finish his sentence, and Su Jiang’s mood grew heavier.
Just as he was about to speak, Su Jiang felt his hand being tightly grasped.
An Rou looked up; she had heard the entire conversation between the two of them.
She knew what Su Jiang intended to do. He had told her before that if the situation became dire, he would go to the isolated battlefield.
An Rou’s eyes were red as she looked at Su Jiang and said word by word, “Don’t go.”
She couldn’t bear the thought of losing both Su Jiang and An Mingjie at the same time.
It would break her.
Su Jiang remained silent, not answering An Rou.
An Rou gripped Su Jiang’s hand tightly and repeated, “Don’t go.”
Tears streamed down her cheeks, and Su Jiang couldn’t help but feel a pang of pain. He reached out to wipe away her tears.
“Don’t worry, I will come back.”
“With you still here, how could I not come back?”
Su Jiang gently patted An Rou’s back, comforting her.
Just then, Yang Ming’s voice came through the phone again, leaving both of them stunned.
“Su Jiang, I don’t recommend you coming over either.”
“Director Zheng just informed me that Lin Hui has already begun to take action and is targeting An Rou.”
“And Feng Haoxuan has been rescued from the Inspectorate, and his whereabouts are currently unknown.”
“So, if you go to the isolated battlefield now, An Rou’s situation will become dangerous. With the remaining manpower of the An family, they won’t be able to fend off Lin Hui.”
Damn it!
Su Jiang furrowed his brows. Why did it have to be now?
If only he had dealt with Lin Hui earlier.
If he goes, An Rou will be in danger.
If he doesn’t go, An Mingjie and the An family won’t be able to stand against Rose.
What should he choose?
