Night, Jiangdu City, near the An family residence.
Lin Hui sat in his car, his eyes shadowed as he stared at the An family’s front gate.
“Damn it, if only Feng Haoxuan hadn’t been rescued…”
He gritted his teeth, still unable to understand who had saved Feng Haoxuan.
The point was, if you were going to save him, just save him.
Why leave a bunch of fake Lin family badges behind?
Lin Hui was furious, wishing he could drag the person out and shoot them for a whole day.
If he hadn’t sent his own people to clean up those counterfeit badges, he might be on the wanted list by the Inspectorate Bureau right now.
Now, he had to take matters into his own hands.
When had Lin Hui ever been so humiliated?
“Wu Yang, make your move.”
Lin Hui spoke in a low voice. Wu Yang, sitting in the passenger seat, nodded and pushed the car door open to get out.
The Lin family members followed Wu Yang, rushing toward the An family compound.
According to their information, the An family was currently weak and had basically no combat personnel.
“Bang!”
Wu Yang kicked open the gate with his foot, gun in hand, quickly scanning the surroundings.
He looked left and right, a puzzled expression on his face.
Where was everyone?
Was the An family so short-staffed?
“Da-da-da…”
Lin Hui walked calmly, following behind them.
“Tsk, the An family doesn’t even have a gatekeeper tonight?”
“What’s going on? Why aren’t you guys moving?”
Lin Hui was confused, why were they all just standing there?
There was a huge crowd of people standing there, he couldn’t even see what was happening in front of him.
“Young Master L-Lin…” Wu Yang stammered, his voice trembling, from the front of the group.
“What’s wrong? Spit it out!” Lin Hui grew impatient, pushing through the Lin family members and leaning forward.
“An… An…”
“An what? What are you trying to say… uh?”
Lin Hui finally reached the front, his words abruptly cut off. He widened his eyes, disbelief etched on his face.
“An… An Xingchang?!”
“Tsk, no respect for your elders. That’s how you address someone older?”
An Xingchang held a cigarette in his mouth, his gaze contemptuous as he looked at Lin Hui.
Surrounding him stood dozens of men in black, all armed with guns, their barrels pointed directly at the Lin family members.
A red dot, perfectly positioned, rested on Lin Hui’s forehead. It was the signal of a sniper aiming at him.
In the moonlight, Lin Hui’s face turned pale.
How could this be?
“Why are you here?”
Lin Hui stared at An Xingchang, then gestured towards the men in black surrounding them, shouting, “Who are these people? I remember the An family doesn’t have these men!”
“Hehehe…” An Xingchang scoffed, smoothing his hair. “An Mingjie’s An family, it’s true they don’t have these people.”
A sharp glint flashed in An Xingchang’s eyes.
“After all… a father can’t just hand over all his assets to his son at once, can he?”
An Mingjie knew about these dozens of men in black, of course, but he didn’t have the authority to command them.
They had always been by An Xingchang’s side, operating in the capital.
It was because of this desperate situation that An Mingjie had to bring An Xingchang and these men back.
“N-no… impossible…”
Lin Hui gasped for breath, unwilling to accept this reality.
“If the An family has this kind of power, how could they still be a marginal family?”
An Xingchang rubbed his temples, growing impatient.
“I told you, the An family you know is An Mingjie’s An family, understand?”
The next second, An Xingchang crushed his cigarette and tossed it to the ground.
“Go.”
“Bang bang bang…”
The men in black pulled their triggers, bullets flying, spraying the Lin family members.
“Ugh!”
“Young Master Lin, save me!”
” Young Master Lin!”
“…”
For a moment, screams of agony filled the air. By the time Lin Hui regained his senses, Wu Yang and the others were lying in pools of blood.
Lin Hui’s eyes were bloodshot. He didn’t look at the bodies on the ground, but stared at An Xingchang, his voice strained as he spoke.
“Why… didn’t you kill me?”
“Before you came, I called your father, Lin Jianbai.” An Xingchang chuckled. “He asked me to spare your life. The condition, of course, is that you owe me a favor.”
“Lin Jianbai…”
Lin Hui was taken aback, muttering the name.
After a moment, he lifted his head, staring at An Xingchang with blazing eyes. “He… he’s not my father.”
“That Lin Jianbai, who abandoned the family, abandoned his loved ones, and went to be someone else’s dog, he’s not my father!”
An Xingchang remained silent. He had nothing to say about it.
Everyone makes their own choices, and they have to pay the price for them. That’s all there is to it.
“Hurry up and leave, if you don’t leave, I’ll change my mind.” An Xingchang lit another cigarette and took a contented puff.
Lin Hui, without hesitation, turned and left.
Emotions can be vented, but not allowed to get out of control.
Life, no matter what, is the most important.
Face, dignity, are all secondary.
Watching Lin Hui’s back, An Xingchang smacked his lips, a little regretful.
If Lin Hui had been emotional just now, and hadn’t let Lin Jianbai plead for him, and let himself kill him…
Then just kill him, he wouldn’t be at a loss anyway.
An Xingchang turned around, about to go back to the house, when he suddenly stopped.
He saw a familiar figure.
“Oh, what wind brought you here?” An Xingchang turned his head, his eyes narrowed, and said lightly:
“Zheng Yi, Director Zheng.”
The person who came was Director Zheng.
He stood alone outside the An family’s door, looking at the scattered corpses, his brow furrowed.
“I heard your gunshots from far away.”
“What gunshots? I’m just setting off firecrackers to celebrate, finally finding a son-in-law.” An Xingchang said with a sly grin.
Director Zheng stared at An Xingchang, watching him for a while, then sighed deeply.
He stepped into the An family, saying, “An Xingchang, you haven’t changed a bit!”
“Hehehe, you’ve changed a lot.”
As Director Zheng approached, An Xingchang handed him a cigarette, laughing, “Since the Beijing incident, I thought you were done for, but I didn’t expect to see you come out of that dilapidated house.”
“So, are you still chasing your utopia?”
Director Zheng glared at him, said nothing, and walked into the house.
Seeing this, An Xingchang shook his head with a smile and said to one of the black-clothed men, “Clean up the courtyard.”
Then, he followed Director Zheng into the house.
Few people knew that the two were old friends, and had been involved in many things together many years ago.
“Da da da…”
An Rou was sitting on the sofa, and when she heard the footsteps, she immediately turned her head.
“Dad, what happened, I just heard gunshots…” When she saw that it was Director Zheng, An Rou’s voice stopped abruptly.
“Rou Rou, this is your Uncle Zheng, you met him when you were little… You probably forgot.” An Xingchang’s voice sounded from behind Director Zheng.
“Zheng… Uncle?” An Rou was a little dumbfounded.
How did an uncle suddenly appear?
Director Zheng glanced at An Rou, and after a moment, said lightly, “In the future, keep an eye on your little boyfriend, his style of doing things will eventually lead to trouble.”
An Rou: “???”
“Old Zheng, what are you talking about?” An Xingchang was unhappy, “My son-in-law is both intelligent and brave, handsome and dashing, just like me back in the day…”
“Just like you back in the day, you were a troublemaker!” Director Zheng sat down on the sofa, rolling his eyes at An Xingchang.
“Go to hell, Zheng Yi!”
An Xingchang threw a cushion at him.
“Rou Rou, you go back to your room first, I have something to discuss with your Uncle Zheng.” An Xingchang rolled up his sleeves, waved his hand at An Rou, and gestured for her to go upstairs.
An Rou blinked, completely confused.
What’s going on here?
After An Rou went upstairs and returned to her room, she heard the sound of fighting coming from downstairs.
Meanwhile.
On the island battlefield, Su Jiang and the others had already reached the Ruins City.
