The darkness of the night blanketed everyone who slept inside the canteen. Jiang Song was also lying asleep in a corner. When she heard a tiny sound, she woke up instantly, but she did not open her eyes immediately. Instead, she listened carefully to the movement, as if someone was rummaging through something.
Jiang Song half opened her eyelids, and after adjusting to the darkness for a while, she clearly noticed that there was indeed a figure squatting above Lin Shengsheng’s head in front. A white light flashed by, and Jiang Song saw what it was- it was actually a knife!
Out of instinct, Jiang Song instantly raised the frying pan in her hand and smashed it down. There was a crisp ‘clang’ accompanied by a scream. Jiang Song immediately grabbed Lin Shengsheng and scrambled up.
The noise woke everyone up, the night light was turned on, and everyone looked over curiously.
Lin Shengsheng was confused and felt something cold on her neck and touched it, only to find a small wound. Jiang Song took a look and found that it wasn’t a big injury.
The person who attacked Lin Shengsheng was a boy. He was handsome and thin, but because of his previous behavior, his face seemed to have a more sinister and treacherous look.
Jiang Song’s frying pan was still in front of her as she defended herself, looking at everyone present with a vigilant look on her face.
“What’s wrong? Jiang Song, how could you hit your classmates?” The senior sister in charge stepped forward and said.
Jiang Song sneered: “You can’t even see the wound on Lin Shengsheng’s neck or the knife in his hand.”
The senior sister walked over, not looking at the boy, as if she hadn’t heard what she said. She just said word by word: “Why did you have to hit him? Classmates should get along with each other in a friendly manner.”
Then, all the students stood behind her, their eyes gloomy, staring at the backpacks of the two of them.
Jiang Song’s heart skipped a beat, knowing that she had walked into a den of wolves again. Judging from their posture and the ambush on Lin Shengsheng just now, even if she voluntarily handed over all the supplies, she would not be able to escape the fate of being killed.
Jiang Song’s heart sank, and she glanced outside secretly. Zombies would be less active at night, so she could still give it a try if she went out, but if she faced so many malicious humans here, she would surely die. Or she could use the attraction card on that girl, but she didn’t want to waste her time here. Just when Jiang Song was about to find a way to delay time and sneak out, Shen Tingsi slowly got up. He had been sleeping just now. He glanced at the tense scene, then looked at the fierce posture of Jiang Song as she held the pan in a comical manner. It was impossible to discern any emotion on his face, but Jiang Song inexplicably felt that he was a little annoyed.
Although Shen Tingsi rescued Jiang Song from the dormitory building, he was the one who brought her here, and that senior sister seemed to have a good relationship with him. Jiang Song didn’t dare to confirm which camp Shen Tingsi was in.
Shen Tingsi stood in the middle for a long time. Finally, he took a deep breath and slowly walked to Jiang Song’s side. He turned his back to her and faced the group of students.
Jiang Song heard him say, “You can’t bully my little niece like this.”
Because the tone was so frivolous and even a little playful, Jiang Song couldn’t help but twitch her lips.
“Brother Shen.” The senior sister opposite had a gloomy face: “We just want them to share some supplies. There’s nothing wrong with that, right?”
Shen Tingsi was very tall, almost completely obscuring Jiang Song’s figure. He said in a calm tone, “It’s nothing, but it’s nighttime now, and we need to sleep at night. If we keep everyone awake, that would be a bit too much.” Shen Tingsi took a step forward and stepped on the boy’s wrist. The knife in the boy’s hand fell to the ground, and he roared in pain. Shen Tingsi put his index finger to his lips and went, “Shh, be quiet.”
The next moment, the boy really held his voice in, but his face turned purple, veins popped out on his forehead and neck, and he endured it without making any sound.
Seen from the side, Shen Tingsi’s face was so handsome that it didn’t look like a real person, but his expression was so cold and terrifying. At this moment, he crushed the boy’s wrist with force until the hand was completely disabled.
All the students within the canteen didn’t dare to make a sound, and the senior sister just watched silently without saying a word. It was not until Shen Tingsi loosened his feet that she immediately ordered someone to drag the unconscious boy away.
When Shen Tingsi turned around, he exchanged glances with Jiang Song: “Go to sleep early, little niece.”
The coldness in his eyes had disappeared, as if the cruelty and indifference just now were just her illusion. Jiang Song’s expression was complicated. Why were these people so afraid of Shen Tingsi? They didn’t dare to resist at all. But thinking back to the scene this afternoon when Shen Tingsi kicked open the glass door of the dormitory building, Jiang Song felt that it sort of made sense. With such strong fighting power, he can indeed let strength determine his status.
Fortunately, Shen Tingsi was on her side.
The canteen returned to peace again. Jiang Song and Lin Shengsheng sat next to each other, near Shen Tingsi but not too far or too close, maintaining a safe distance, and also ensuring that he would be woken up if anything happened. After this incident, Jiang Song struggled to sleep, nor could she rest. After a while, a figure came towards them again, but Jiang Song could see that it was Shen Jia.
She sat over and whispered to her, “Jiang Song, can I sit with you?”
Jiang Song glanced at her calmly and said, “No.”
Shen Jia wanted to say something else, but when she heard the sound of Shen Tingsi turning over, she immediately took a few steps back and finally sat down not far from them.
Because of the unease she felt, Jiang Song couldn’t didn’t sleep that night. When the sun rose, it was the seventh day of the game, and the world became disconnected from the internet. Whether or not other people in the school believed that incident is now unknown, and they have completely cut off contact with the outside world.
Maybe because of the falling out last night, after getting up this morning, between the original group from the canteen and Jiang Song (plus the other two), they each formed their own independent camps. There was no longer any false enthusiasm like last night, and the dissatisfaction and greed on everyone’s face were obvious.
Except for Shen Tingsi, the man who wanders between the two camps.
At noon that day, the zombies outside were making a commotion, and a broadcast was heard in the distance, from the playground. Jiang Song lay by the door and listened. The roars and footsteps of the zombies were dense, and they were all running to that direction.
This is an opportunity.
“What’s going on? Who’s broadcasting?” Lin Shengsheng also came over curiously to see.
On the other side, the others didn’t seem to care at all and continued their own respective activities.
“Shengsheng, the zombies have been attracted to the playground. I will leave soon.” Jiang Song whispered in her ear.
Lin Shengsheng nodded: “Okay, when? I’m always ready.”
Jiang Song glanced at her and asked, “You want to come with me?”
Lin Shengsheng instantly revealed a hurt expression, and her whole body was about to break down: “You don’t plan to take me with you?”
Jiang Song pursed his lips and said, “No, I’ll bring.”
Lin Shengsheng still didn’t quite believe it; some tears still clung to her eyes. Her big eyes flickered and she choked with heartache: “Baby, don’t leave me.”
Jiang Song: “…Okay.”
