Shen Ming sat on the living room sofa waiting for his wife and children. Although their house was quite large, it didn’t have a big enough hall to host a birthday banquet. This time, many friends from the business industry were also attending. Shen Ming knew these people were coming mainly because of Meng Zhengrong and wanted to take this opportunity to get closer to him. Given the large number of attendees, they decided to hold the event outside.

He held his phone, thinking that while the rest of the family might not call, Mother Meng would surely call to check in. Yet, it was already almost afternoon, and there hadn’t been a single call.

Compared to Father Meng, Shen Ming was more afraid of Meng Zhengrong. The reason he had become even more excessive after Meng Zhengrong rose to power was because of Mother Meng. He thought, even if Meng Zhengrong found out and got angry, what could he do? After all, he was his uncle by blood. Would Meng Zhengrong really send him to jail?

Back when he was under Father Meng’s control, he was just a brother-in-law. But with Meng Zhengrong, they had a blood relationship.

“Actually, I think…” Shen Ming wanted to say that after today, he would resign and leave Meng Zhongrong alone. However, before he could finish, Mrs. Shen impatiently interrupted him. “What do you think? We have already invited Zhengrong and Xu Yuan, and they will come. Chen Hao will also be there. Mrs. Shen’s smile faded. “It’s okay to say that in front of us, but don’t be stupid and say it in front of others.”

Even Mrs. Shen and Shen Ming had no intention of causing a divorce between Xu Yuan and Meng Zhengrong. Despite their current conflicts of interest, as long as the Meng family prospered, even if they were no longer employed there, their annual dividends would still be substantial.
