70s Rebirth: The Captivating Beauty’s Flash Military Wedding Chapter 6

Chapter 6 : How to implement the subsequent plan?

Sun Qianqian saw that Ye Suiwan was fine, just a little weak. She almost fell, but fortunately, Li Luo caught her and helped her up.

“No, that’s impossible. You were with those hooligans today. I saw it clearly. Show me what’s on you!”

Sun Qianqian suddenly rushed at Ye Suiwan, reaching out to tear her clothes.

Two loud slaps echoed in the night.

“Sun Qianqian, do you think I would tolerate this?”

Ye Suiwan’s voice was cold, her icy gaze piercing through the darkness.

“You… you dared to hit me?”

Sun Qianqian was both shocked and terrified by Ye Suiwan’s expression.

It was the first time she had ever seen her like this. But this motherless little wench actually dared to slap her? She had to make her pay for this.

Ye Suiwan frowned. Why did those words sound so familiar?

“I already hit you. Why are you still asking if I dared to? If you slander me again, next time, it won’t just be two slaps.”

Her eyes were as sharp as a freshly honed blade, and an unmistakable aura of danger surrounded her. Sun Qianqian couldn’t help but shiver.

In the past, Ye Suiwan had always trusted and obeyed her, doing whatever she said without question.

What had changed today?

No, this abnormal behavior meant she was hiding something. Sun Qianqian was sure that she saw several men surrounding Ye Suiwan before they left. There was no way nothing had happened.

Determined, she lunged toward Ye Suiwan again.

But Ye Suiwan had been watching her closely. With a swift sidestep and a well-placed kick, Sun Qianqian crashed to the ground.

“Everyone saw that, right? I was just defending myself.”

“From now on, I have no relationship with Sun Qianqian. I treated her as a sister, but she saw me as an enemy. I misjudged her. If I have done anything wrong in the past, I ask for everyone’s forgiveness.”

Taking this opportunity, Ye Suiwan decisively cut ties with Sun Qianqian while also easing her relationship with the educated youth around her.

Even though she was about to get married, she would still be living in the village for the next few months. It was always wise to maintain good relationships at least with those who deserved it.

Jiang Sui was so shocked by her words that if there weren’t so many people around, he would have checked her forehead to see if she was still feverish.

He was certain this wasn’t over. Ye Suiwan was the vengeful type. He just couldn’t understand why she had tolerated Sun Qianqian for so long before.

Now that things had fallen apart, there would be no more tolerance. He almost felt like lighting a candle for Sun Qianqian in advance.

Not that it was his concern, he had only ever treated Sun Qianqian politely because of Ye Suiwan.

But now wasn’t the time to dwell on that.

“Suiwan, no one blames you. You don’t have to worry. I believe everyone here knows what really happened tonight.”

Jiang Sui was the first to speak, his words clearly supporting Ye Suiwan.

“Yes, Comrade Ye, you’re a good person!”

“That’s right. We all live and work together. Some friction is normal, but we won’t hold grudges.”

“Comrade Ye, take a good rest. We’ll be heading back now.”

“Yes, let Dr. Lin check on you and get some sleep.”

“Comrade Ye, ask the captain for a leave tomorrow. Get some rest. It’s bad to get sick in this heat.”

The educated youth may not have interacted with Ye Suiwan much, but they knew she came from a well-off family. It was normal for her to have a bit of a temper, but apart from her arrogance, she had never actually harmed anyone.

Besides, she was generous. She had just promised to treat them to a meal for coming out to look for her. No one had ever done that before, and a meal with meat was a rare luxury. Any irritation from being woken up at night was instantly forgotten, replaced with warmth and goodwill.

If someone like her took the initiative to befriend them, who could refuse?

Meanwhile, Sun Qianqian was still lying on the ground.

Song Kai muttered something to Li Luo, and she and another female educated youth dragged Sun Qianqian away.

Covered in mud, with blood on her face, Sun Qianqian was obviously in bad shape. But no one even considered asking Lin Lan to check on her.

Ye Suiwan hadn’t actually caused her any real harm, but that didn’t mean Sun Qianqian hadn’t done anything wrong. She had always taken advantage of others, quarreled over nothing, spread gossip, and stirred up trouble.

So, when she was slapped twice and kicked to the ground, none of the educated youth felt sympathy. In fact, they found it quite satisfying.

Especially Zhou Jingjing, if one looked closely, they would see her shoulders shaking as she held back laughter.

Sun Qianqian knew she had lost the chance to inspect Ye Suiwan’s body for any marks tonight.

But she refused to accept this.

Why? What had gone wrong?

If this plan failed, how could she carry out the next steps?

No, she would call her mother tomorrow.

“Wait for me outside. I’ll go in and check on Ye Suiwan again,” Lin Lan said to the others. She could already feel her son’s burning gaze locked onto the girl.

Fortunately, the night provided some cover.

“Dr. Lin, please come in. I appreciate the trouble,” Ye Suiwan said sweetly, looking nothing like the person who had just slapped someone moments ago.

Inside, only the two of them remained. Zhou Jingjing didn’t follow after all, they weren’t that close.

“Thank you, Auntie,” Ye Suiwan whispered.

“Silly child, no need to thank me. Don’t worry, tomorrow I’ll send someone to propose marriage and pick a good day for your wedding. You should also inform your family.”

Lin Lan looked at the beautiful girl and instantly liked her.

As the village’s barefoot doctor, she didn’t have to do hard labor, but she was well aware of the gossip in the brigade, especially about a strikingly beautiful educated youth who had arrived some time ago. Who would have thought that girl would become her daughter-in-law?

Her son’s marriage had always been her biggest concern.

Now, she was finally at ease someone could take charge of her son!

“Come, let me check your pulse.”

Lin Lan wasn’t careless. Ye Suiwan still looked pale.

“Alright!”

Ye Suiwan didn’t mind. A checkup wouldn’t hurt.

After a careful examination, Lin Lan finally sighed in relief.

“Take some medicine and rest. Come to my house for the next few days. I’ll cook for you.”

Lin Lan gave detailed instructions.

“This… this is too much trouble.”

Ye Suiwan felt guilty.

“It’s no trouble at all. We’ll be family soon.”

“Get some rest. Don’t get up too early tomorrow. Sleep more.”

Lin Lan patted her hand, stood up, and prepared to leave.

“I’ll walk you out, Auntie.”

“Alright!”

Lin Lan didn’t refuse. After all, her son was outside, he definitely wanted to see the girl again.

The door opened.

“Ye Suiwan’s fever has gone down, but she still needs medicine. Captain, please give her a few days off to recover.”

Lin Lan spoke before anyone else could.

“Good, good! As long as Ye Suiwan is fine. Let’s all head back now. Yuyan just got home and hasn’t rested yet.”

The captain was relieved that nothing had gone wrong.

He was aware of Jiang Sui and Ye Suiwan’s backgrounds, and his superiors had asked him to take good care of them. He couldn’t afford any accidents.

With that, he left.

Ye Suiwan glanced at Xiao Yuyan reluctantly, and he nodded at her.

“Suiwan, go to sleep!”

Jiang Sui was finally at ease.

“Alright. You should go too! Buy some meat and flour tomorrow morning, we’ll make dumplings for everyone.”

Ye Suiwan didn’t stand on ceremony.

“Got it. Leave it to me.”

As the crowd dispersed, only Zhou Jingjing remained.

“Thank you, Comrade Zhou.”

Ye Suiwan smiled at her.

“Just call me by my name. We’re neighbors, let me know if you need anything.”

“Alright, then call me by my name too.”

The two smiled at each other and returned to their rooms.

Lin Lan’s son came back, like, today. She met the girl once when she “gave her medicine.” Is it not weird that she’s sending a proposal after one day and barely any contact with Ye Suiwan?? The natural assumption would be that they did something before marriage, maybe at the doctor’s office, and are rushing the marriage before her belly shows.
