What do I do, what do I do, what do I do?!
Finally regaining my senses, I tossed and turned on my bed, kicking the covers off. I couldn’t believe I had just fainted over a nosebleed in front of Claude, Ethan, and Sarah.
“Aaargh! This is so embarrassiiiiing!”
How could a transmigrator lose face in front of the main characters in a novel? I mean, it’s not like I fainted from seeing blood from a severe injury, but from a nosebleed, a nosebleed with blood that could be seen by lightly poking a finger!
“How is this happening, how is this happening?!”
I was so upset, I was on the verge of tears. How I’d endured this novel so far, even after the ending, I’d spent the entire time shaking with the fear that I’d never be free of the Law of the Transmigrator: cute Claude running around in front of me, dignified Duke Ethan softening in front of Sarah, and amazing Sarah smiling from ear to ear! I couldn’t talk to them easily, I couldn’t look at them comfortably, and if anyone even spoke to them, I’d freak out and run away.
But the truth was, there were so many things I wanted to grab the main characters and ask them, like the backstory that didn’t make it into the novel, or the love story between the runaway prince and the slave, or why the old ex-emperor was so obsessed with the now-dead empress! But more than my curiosity, I swallowed hard because I didn’t want to ruin the relationship between the main characters, who I had been rooting for and wishing happiness for throughout the novel.
“Uwaaah. What the hell is this…….”
But in the end, it was the nosebleed ending that got me, and even if I went back to Korea, Juliette would just stay in the main characters’ memories as someone who passed out from a nosebleed, and then disappear. I didn’t know why I was so sad and upset about this, but all my feelings came flooding back at once.
“This is all because of Oliven!”
Naturally, my resentment was directed at Oliven, who was squirming in my arms.
“Aaah, aaah! Haeng-in, it hurts! It hurts!”
“Die, die, you son of a b*tch!”
“I lived with beasts when I was a kid anyway, so that doesn’t even sound like a curse word to me?”
Even as he screamed in pain as I drove my fist into the doll, Oliven had the audacity to talk back to me. I should sew that *sshole’s mouth shut, but unfortunately, I was out of thread and needle right now, but that was okay. I knew just the right harsh words to make Oliven cry.
“Then you’ll be hated by Sarah for the rest of your life! You will never be forgiven, you will live in this doll for the rest of your life and be forgotten by Sarah forever!”
“Uwaaah.”
As expected, Oliven’s sobbing was heartbreaking, which was all well and good, but now I was getting tired of his whining.
“Shut up, shut up, shut up. Be quiet.”
“Hic hic, Haeng-in, that’s too much.”
“Is that what you’re going to say to me? Can’t you keep track of what’s too much?”
“……Hic.”
If I were a normal reader, my revenge was only natural, because I was a reader who had made Oliven my favorite and then had him betrayed. If the pain of being betrayed by a character I trusted was so great, how much less Sarah? Just thinking about it made me jump up in my sleep and gulp down cold water, my stomach boiling.
“Haeng-in, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“Then let me go home, you *sshole.”
“That’s not an insult to me…….”
“You’re an *sshole who has nothing to do with Sarah’s life.”
“Hic-cup.”
I wanted to go home, and I’d never wanted it so badly as I did today when my eyes filled with tears and my grip on Oliven’s hand was losing strength.
“Miss Juliette, may I come in?”
I heard Sarah’s voice at the knock on the door. Oh my God, come to think of it, Sarah said she had a gift for me today and she was going to come to my room! I couldn’t believe I forgot, I must have been in shock.
“Wait, wait a minute!!!!!”
I hurriedly tucked Oliven into the covers first.
“Haeng, Haeng-in. Just open a crack so I can see Master’s face for a moment, Haeng-in!”
“Did you let me go when I asked you to send me home? The original request was a give-and-take, you uneducated *sshole.”
I ignored Oliven’s request, of course, because favors were supposed to be earned, and he didn’t earn it, damn him. I had more important things to do with my appearance than that. I dabbed at my face with my sleeve to wipe the tears from my eyes and tidied up my messy hair. I already had a nosebleed and no image to manage, but still, Sarah was coming to my room in person, and I couldn’t greet her with a mess, could I?
“Come, come in!”
I called to Sarah with a shaky voice as I finished getting ready.
“Wow, I’ve never been in Miss Juliette’s room before, it’s cozier than I thought it would be.”
Sarah smiled and looked around my room and complimented me on it, even though it was just a basic room given to Ambrosian employees. I didn’t know what it was like in other noble houses, but the Ducal House of Ambrosia was like a big business, so the welfare was good. The room I was given here was ten times bigger and better than my house back home in Korea. Even better, thanks to the magical items Sarah brought me from the tower, I could take a shower, take a bath, and relieve myself without any inconvenience. I could even be washed and dried in the same room if I was feeling uncomfortable. Somehow, medieval times were better than modern society. I really wanted to bring this back to Korea.
“Did you cry?”
Sarah, who had been looking around the room, caught sight of my face and narrowed her eyes slightly, causing me to duck my head in alarm.
“N-No, I just yawned a little…….”
“Your eyes are red, you’ve been crying.”
Sarah lifted her hand and gently cupped my cheek, warmth radiating from it. I couldn’t help but look up, following Sarah’s lead. Sarah’s beautiful face was right in front of me. As I thought about it, I realized that this was the first time I’d seen her face this close since I’d been transmigrated. I couldn’t help but feel my eyes widen at the sight of Sarah’s loving gaze as it searched my face, busy with concern.
“Do you want to go home?”
“……!”
Sarah’s question made my eyes widen, and the tears that had been pooling in my eyes fell out. I couldn’t blink in surprise, and Sarah gently brushed her fingers across my eyes.
“I’m sorry that Oliven has put you in such a difficult situation, and I’m going to apologize on his behalf.”
“Ho, how…….”
Did Sarah know all along? As she glanced at the comforter that hid Oliven, it was clear that Sarah knew I was transmigrated and that it was because of Oliven.
“I’m sorry, actually, I knew from the beginning that Miss Juliette was not of this world.”
“……!”
“Because there was never a maid named ‘Juliette’ at Ambrosia Mansion to begin with.”
“What?”
My mouth dropped open, and I started to sputter. I was a transmigrator, and I wasn’t a transmigrator at the same time. What the hell did that mean? Seeing me speechless, Sarah said what I wanted to ask.
“Juliette, I mean Miss Haeng-in, you can be a little more unruly in this world, because when you go home, you’ll be forgotten by everyone anyway.”
“What?”
“So you should have enjoyed your life as a transmigrator a little more, I feel bad for that.”
What, what the heck did that mean? Sarah’s words took my sophisticated life as a transmigrator to a new level.
