65. Serious People Discuss Matters, Who Goes to a Hotel!
Seeing Shi Qiuyun’s shy and awkward demeanor, Lu Fei didn’t say much either.
He pulled out a stack of cash from his pocket.
He usually kept a few thousand yuan in cash on him for emergencies.
It just so happened to come in handy now.
Lu Fei slapped the cash into the manager’s hand and said, “Get her something to eat. If it’s not enough, I’ll come down later and settle the rest!”
Then, Lu Fei looked at Shi Qiuyun and smiled, saying, “Go sit over there for a while and have something to eat. When you’re full, we can talk. I have something to attend to right now, but I’ll come to find you later, alright?”
As Shi Qiuyun looked at this kind-hearted man, tears welled up in her eyes.
She obediently nodded and gratefully said, “Thank you, you’re a good person!”
Upon hearing this, Lu Fei’s gentle smile froze for a moment.
A good person!!!
How many men’s hearts had been pierced by these words in the past?!
A hint of confusion flashed in Shi Qiuyun’s eyes, and she reproached herself, saying, “I’m sorry, did I say something wrong? My master always said that I’m not good at speaking. I’m really sorry!”
Lu Fei’s stiff smile faded, and he regained his composure. He cleared his throat twice and then said, “I just suddenly remembered something from the past.”
“You didn’t say anything wrong. It’s just that the term ‘good person,’ I prefer you not to use it on me!”
Upon hearing Lu Fei’s words, a hint of confusion flashed across Shi Qiuyun’s immaculate face.
“Why can’t I use it on you? I really think you’re a good person!”
Lu Fei’s mouth twitched a few times. This girl must have never been influenced by the foulness of the big city, so she didn’t understand the underlying connotation of that seemingly polite term.
After thinking for a moment, Lu Fei turned to Shi Qiuyun and said, “You can call me ‘good brother,’ but don’t use the term ‘good person’ on me. However, you can use it on others in the future, I believe they will appreciate it!”
Shi Qiuyun listened to Lu Fei’s contradictory and strange words, unable to fully grasp their meaning. However, she had one trait – when she didn’t understand something, she rarely dwelled on it and simply followed along.
Shi Qiuyun obediently nodded and softly said, “Okay, thank you, good brother!”
Seeing Shi Qiuyun’s innocent and simple appearance, Lu Fei suddenly felt a deep sense of guilt for deceiving such a naive and beautiful girl.
“Never mind, let’s go eat!”
Lu Fei gestured to the manager, who then led Shi Qiuyun to the hotel’s dedicated restaurant.
Meanwhile, Lu Fei turned around, entered the elevator, and headed to room 9502.
…
On the other side, outside the bustling train station, Lin Ran sat in his sports car, wearing sunglasses, growing impatient.
Lin Ran kept taking out his phone and checking it repeatedly.
He muttered to himself incessantly.
“According to the old man’s words, Little Martial Aunt should have arrived by now!”
“Why haven’t I seen her anywhere?”
“She’s not answering the phone. Could something have happened to her?”
At this thought, Lin Ran suddenly recalled the innocent and easily fooled Little Martial Aunt on the mountain. The more he thought about it, the more something felt off.
Could it be that he arrived half an hour late, and the scammers managed to deceive Little Martial Aunt?
Although Lin Ran wasn’t worried about Little Martial Aunt’s safety at all, considering her martial prowess, he didn’t think a few insignificant scammers could do any harm to her.
However, he was worried that someone might have deceived his Little Martial Aunt.
If the old man found out, he would definitely give him a good scolding.
If he couldn’t find Little Martial Aunt, let alone getting scolded, Lin Ran suspected that the old man would drive over and beat him up.
Thinking about the old man with insanely high martial prowess, Lin Ran shivered.
“No, I have to go and find her!”
Lin Ran no longer enjoyed the envious gazes of the people around him as he sat in his sports car.
He found a random place to park and immediately began searching for any traces of Little Martial Aunt around the train station.
…
Slowly, as the elevator doors opened.
Lu Fei searched around and finally found the agreed room, number 9502, at the end of the corridor.
“Knock, knock, knock!”
He knocked on the door.
After a short while, the door opened, and Jiang Wenying’s cold face appeared in front of Lu Fei.
“Why were you looking for me?” Lu Fei wasn’t stunned by her stunning appearance. He simply asked calmly.
“Come in first!”
Jiang Wenying stepped aside, making room and gesturing for him to enter.
After a pause, Lu Fei went in directly.
Upon entering the hotel room, Lu Fei took a moment to observe the decorations inside.
Great, it was different from the first time he met Jiang Wenying.
At least the bed here was a normal double bed, not one of those heart-shaped romantic suites.
On the table in front of the sofa, there was an open bottle of whiskey. It seemed that Jiang Wenying had been waiting for him here for a while.
Lu Fei found a seat, sat down, and looked at Jiang Wenying as if waiting for her to speak first.
“Do you know about this matter?”
Upon hearing Jiang Wenying’s words, Lu Fei was a bit puzzled but quickly understood.
He felt speechless towards Jiang Wenying’s question.
How was he supposed to know if she didn’t directly tell him?
Seeing Jiang Wenying’s expression as if he owed her money, Lu Fei pretended not to know and asked back, “What matter? What do I know?”
Jiang Wenying suddenly looked up and glanced at Lu Fei, who was pretending to be ignorant. She gritted her white teeth.
After holding back for a moment, she finally said, “It’s… about us getting married!”
