66. I can agree to your demands!

“Oh, you’re talking about that!”

Lu Fei thought for a moment and then smiled, saying, “I know!”

As Jiang Wenying looked at Lu Fei’s face, her expression became somewhat trance-like.

However, it didn’t take long for her gaze to turn cold again.

“What do you think about this matter?”

Hearing her question, Lu Fei’s expression froze, and he looked puzzled. “What do I think? Well, I’ll just go with the flow!”

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s indifferent response, Jiang Wenying grew somewhat frustrated. “Don’t you feel like you’re being controlled at all?”

Upon hearing Jiang Wenying’s words, Lu Fei began to understand.

No wonder she immediately asked him about his thoughts on this matter.

When did Jiang Wenying start using those tactics, just like the little devil?

He remembered Jiang Wenying always being straightforward and having a cold demeanor. There was never any beating around the bush.

So, she was actually setting him up, huh!

A faint smile appeared at the corner of Lu Fei’s mouth as he calmly said, “If you put it that way… it does feel like being controlled!”

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s response, Jiang Wenying continued, “Then what are your thoughts?”

When Jiang Wenying asked this question, her emotions were complicated.

She hoped that Lu Fei would say what she wanted to hear, but at the same time, she resisted being trapped in such a predetermined fate.

“What thoughts could I have? Since I can’t resist it, then I might as well lay back and enjoy it!”

Lu Fei replied, sitting back on the sofa and assuming a lazy posture. He half-closed his eyes and casually looked at Jiang Wenying.

“You…”

Jiang Wenying’s heart initially filled with anger upon hearing Lu Fei’s somewhat insolent words. However, as she recalled Lu Fei’s remarks, her anger dissipated.

Indeed, could she resist it?

After all, it was the Mu family we were talking about!

Perhaps Jiang Wenying herself didn’t realize it, but when Lu Fei uttered those words, her tense mood suddenly relaxed, and she unconsciously let out a sigh of relief.

“I can never marry you!”

Jiang Wenying stared at Lu Fei, her tone icy.

“What should we do then? Can you bear the consequences of the rupture between the Mu family and the Jiang family’s cooperation?”

Lu Fei shrugged, expressing his helplessness.

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s words, Jiang Wenying’s heart sank. She knew very well that the cooperation between the two families was not something she could resist with a simple refusal.

“Are you not resentful that despite your efforts, you can’t receive the rewards you deserve, and instead become a sacrificial pawn for the Jiang family’s gain?”

Lu Fei looked at this woman, whose face carried a mixture of resentment and stubbornness, and a sense of understanding arose within him.

There was a time when he was just like that.

Before he transmigrated, he was just a laborer in the company. No matter how much he contributed, if he offended the children of the company’s higher-ups, he would be fired.

It was as if he were a discarded pet, with no regard for his feelings whatsoever.

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s words, a ripple finally appeared in the hidden emotions in Jiang Wenying’s eyes.

Lu Fei’s words seemed to see through all the disguises in her heart, deciphering her current mood to the fullest extent.

Jiang Wenying fell silent. For the first time, all her disguises were completely seen through by one person. In her panic, all she could do was respond with silence.

“I can help you, take control of the company you’ve worked so hard for… even control the Jiang family!”

When Lu Fei said the first half of his statement, Jiang Wenying managed to maintain her composure.

However, upon hearing the second half, Jiang Wenying completely let her guard down, and a look of shock appeared in her eyes.

How could this man make such a grand promise?

Help her take control of the Jiang family?

These were utterly fantastical words, and yet they were spoken by Lu Fei.

“Are you out of your mind?”

Jiang Wenying’s face lost its coldness, and she no longer wore any disguise. She looked like a small, defenseless rabbit whose fur had been stripped away.

“Hmm, it’s just a matter of each of us having our own needs. I want a 49% stake in that company. With the company secured, you can maintain absolute control!”

Lu Fei replied with a hint of amusement.

Upon hearing Lu Fei’s words, Jiang Wenying still couldn’t help but wonder if he had been through some kind of shock that made him speak nonsense.

“Lu Fei, do you even know what you’re saying?”

Jiang Wenying furrowed her brows and asked in a questioning tone.

In response to Jiang Wenying’s distrust, Lu Fei turned to look at her, his voice carrying a hint of dominance and nonchalance as he said, “It’s just a company and the Jiang family. How do you know I can’t do it?”

“But…”

Before Jiang Wenying could say anything, she was suddenly interrupted by Lu Fei.

“Do you trust me?”

“I…”

Jiang Wenying hesitated as she looked at Lu Fei.

From the casual and indifferent tone in Lu Fei’s voice, Jiang Wenying could tell that in his eyes, the so-called Jiang family was nothing more than an insignificant ant.

“At this point, you have no choice but to accept. After all, I have a soft spot for those who are being mistreated. Seeing how pitiful you are, I’ll help you out!”

Lu Fei’s words made Jiang Wenying fall silent once again.

The initiative, at some point, had slipped into Lu Fei’s hands.

“I can agree to your demands!”

There was a long silence.

Suddenly,

Jiang Wenying looked up at Lu Fei, her eyes shimmering with a complex expression.
