July 6th, 3:00 am.
At a coffee shop in the middle of South Belande.
Shen Yi made another cup of fragrant hand-brewed coffee in the café.
He had a strong sense of foreboding and didn’t fall asleep all night, but he didn’t think of away.
He was still not proactive enough, and his excessive caution led to not knowing enough information.
He regretted not being able to follow the trail and track down Aina to come up with the location of the Chaos Remnant Order’s stronghold, if he knew where they were he could have explored it.
Now, the Order may have had an accident, but apart from sitting here and waiting he couldn’t do anything.
Needless to say, he won’t pit those cultists for dying. Shen Yi had no qualms about using the wicked, and he will never sympathize with them, but there were also innocent people like Aina in the cult.
He took another sip of coffee in anxiety. Well, it’s not a good habit to consume too much of coffee, but at least it keeps you away from cigarettes and alcohol.
And a cup of meticulously brewed coffee would calm the anxious mind and body.
“Could it be that the Anti-Magic Bureau has made a move?”
It’s perfectly normal for the Anti-Magic Bureau to go after people and seize them.
After all, this was their duty, and they had never given up searching for the cult. So it was normal for them to make a move to catch those cult, and it was not a sudden possibility at all.
“If that’s the case, I wonder what they will do with Aina?”
Deep down, Shen Yi knew very well that current Aina was not only an innocent sacrifice but also a hot core figure in the Chaos Remnant Order.
In order to protect Aina’s life, he had to deliver the most useful oracle.
Everything has both good and bad sides.
The bad news was, even if she were a child, she would not be acquitted after being arrested by the anti-magic bureau.
“If she is in the hands of the Anti-Magic Bureau, the situation is still relatively good.”
To think of it in a worse way was another possibility.
Tonight’s Order of Chaos Remnants was suddenly attacked by the Quiet Word.
“I hope nothing has happened to Aina.”
Even though he hadn’t seen her many times, he still wanted the little girl to live well.
After crossing over, the connection to his homeland was all cut off, and his heart was left with nothing, but since meeting her, he gradually met some new people and constructed some new connections.
No matter if they know the truth about himself, Shen Yi still had more or less affection for everyone in his heart.
“Tuk, tuk, tuk, tuk”
Suddenly came the tapping sound on the glass door, Shen Yi faintly froze and immediately stood up.
~Could it be Aina?
He left his seat and turned to go over but suddenly had another thought, the person who came might not be Aina but also might be the assassin of the Quiet Word.
If the people of the Quiet Word could find the Chaos Remnant Order, it is normal for them to follow Aina’s recent route to the cafe.
Shen Yi rose to alert, gently put down the coffee cup in his hand on the table, and calmly walked towards the glass door in the darkness.
Upon reaching the door he was stunned to find, that the person tapping on the door outside the cafe was not a person at all.
Instead, it was a gray and white cat.
British shorthair blue and white cats were a very common pet cat breed on the market.
On outside the door the cat raised his small head and stared blankly at the Shen Yi inside the cafe, his fleshy paws flapping against the glass door.
Shen Yi breathed a sigh of relief and said to himself, “Because there is no place to shelter from the rain you came here?”
The rain outside was a little less than the previous two days but still enough to be described as heavy rain, and the small animals in the city must have had a terrible time.
After a moment hesitation he opened the glass door.
As a result, the cat jumped up suddenly.
He thought he was going to be attacked and subconsciously raised his hands, however, the cat just jumped into his arms, rubbed affectionately, and meowed.
“Meow.”
“It’s a little heavy.”
Shen Yi held this British short blue and white with both hands and was embarrassed to find that his clothes were all wet from it.
“Ugh.”
He bent down and laid the cat gently on the ground.
The latter sat on the ground obediently, puckered up one leg, and started licking the fur on its thigh.
“It’s rare for a loved one to be abandoned after being raised.”
The rain outside was really heavy, and there was already a lot of water piled up. I’m afraid it would have no choice but to knock on the door of the cafe.
He doesn’t know he likes cats, does he?
He held back the thought of stroking the cat and took off his jacket first.
“ I just let you stay one night, but tomorrow morning you have to leave, my coffee shop can’t keep wildcats.”
As if he didn’t understand what he was saying, the kitten sat on the ground and tilted its head, and looked at Shen Yi.
“Really, just one night.” He accentuated his tone.
He felt some sleepiness, although he had drunk a lot of hand-brewed coffee, but now it was too late, and he seemed to have a certain tolerance for caffeine.
There was no use thinking about the Order any longer, what could not be done was not done, and one needed to sleep.
“It’s already past three.”
——
Staggering through the pouring rain and losing blood, Aina was about to faint.
The “God’s transformation” had taken effect. Her physical strength was much stronger than that of ordinary people and coupled with her strong will, she was able to persist until now.
“There are still a few more streets to go before we reach the cafe ……”
She no longer had enough stamina, so she took refuge in a nearby bus shelter and sank painfully into a chair.
The heavy rain continued and Aina gasped softly in her chair.
All that was left in her ears was the rapid sound of the rain, and all other sounds were swallowed up by the endless night.
She gradually lowered her head and did not move a muscle and remained motionless.
It wasn’t long before the burning pains suddenly spiked again, making her frown and waking her from almost fainting.
Aina gasped again, her hand subconsciously trying to cover the wound, and the pain from the touch made her cry out again.
She knew very well that the Quiet Word’s pursuers were probably getting closer and closer, and even if they didn’t have to come, she who lost too much blood was not far from her death.
With her last will and strength, Aina finally made it to the front of the cafe.
“Finally… here we are.”
Aina had arrived in the alley, a dozen steps away from the cafe.
Her almost mushy mind grew more and more excited, and she wanted to fly.
The result was that as soon as she lifted her front leg, the things within her vision suddenly began to tilt, and before she could react, she fell to the ground out of control.
In the middle of the rainy night, Aina passed out in front of the cafe.
After a short time, four men in gray robes walked out of the darkness, holding daggers with specially designed white skeletal motifs.
All four of them silently came in front of the cafe.
As dawn was approaching and guns could easily attract the city’s “hounds”, the members of the Quiet Word raised their short swords, trying to turn the fallen girl into indistinguishable flesh and blood.
The girl fell right in front of the cafe.
They knew about this cafe, and there was a rumor in the inner world that there lived a very unpleasant being.
“You can’t back down and do it right here. If anyone in there dares to stop it, it’s a declaration of war against the quiet singers.”
The Quiet Singer had already pointed out his fate, and nothing could go against HIM, no matter how powerful the enemy was, it couldn’t stop the Quiet Word from acting.
“Meow.”
A gray and white cat appeared inside the door of the cafe, wagging its tail haughty as it gazed at the few peoples who were about to make their move.
The grey-robed men were slightly dumbfounded by the sudden appearance of cats, and there seemed to be a certain ferocity in his eyes.
Just then, a cold, bleak aura emerged from the café.
~The breath of a heretic!
This gray-robed man was feeling the shock from his heart, their brain was roaring and had a splitting headache, and they felt like a worm stuck in a fog that was about to drown in despair.
The cat inside the glass door also exploded. It immediately turned around, looked into the cafe full of anger and fear, and arched up as if ready to start a fight at any moment.
At this moment, the surrounding breath suddenly changed.
Originally cold, solid, confused breath suddenly became hot, thick, and distorted …… The aura that originally belonged to the “White Mist across the Shore” turned into the “Lord of Ashes”.
“What’s going on?”
The gray-robed people outside the house, whose brains were roaring and had a splitting headache, now had their brains heating up with excruciating pain.
They couldn’t understand the situation at all, how many powerful existences were there in the small cafe?
Even these crazy cultists were in a state of loss and unease at the moment.
None of the gray-robed people noticed that the cat, who had been looking fiercely at the inside of the cafe, suddenly turned around and looking at them with a brutal face instead.
