Chrissy staggered to her feet, while a black umbrella appeared on her head.
“Are you okay?”
Shen Yi let Chris stand on the other side of the umbrella and asked with concern.
“I’m fine, thank you for your concern ……”
The breath that drilled into her mind gradually subsided, and Chris still looked in awe at the person holding the umbrella next to her.
Maybe he, it, he’s not as scary as I thought …… No, Chris, over the years you have clearly seen many monsters in disguise, as well as people who have not yet become monsters.
They were also incredibly normal before they started going crazy.
On a rainy night, Chris and Shen Yi walked side by side.
He had a strange feeling. The other side seemed to be squeezing out of the umbrella, and did not dare to really leave.
‘Could it be that she really didn’t want to share an umbrella with me…but she was afraid of being rude, so she was embarrassed to leave?’
Shen Yi was a little surprised. Since he was a child, no girl hated him so much, and he had just saved the other’s life.
But what he didn’t know was, Chris was simply terrified.
The two walked together for about an hour, during which Chris kept trying to open a conversation, but no matter what, the words couldn’t come out of her mouth.
After years of wandering around the world, she still has hard bones, believing that something called backbone runs through her spine, allowing her to walk with her chest up.
But this sudden incident brought everything in her world to collapse.
A dozen of her colleagues, friends who could rely on each other to live and die, were torn to pieces by the monster in front of her.
A minute ago, they would cry and laugh, and would have a dream and have a friend and family.
And just so they died like that.
Now, including herself, only three people left in the firm, and one of them said that she wanted to return to normal life, find a normal job, and spend time with her parents at home.
She didn’t expect the name of the firm ‘The last flower, the beauty of the end’ would one day come true in one word.
‘Phew-’, it was time for her to turn around and throw something away for something more important.
Chris firmly hugged the idea of clinging to the thigh!
Will it seem too much for me to kneel down directly in allegiance now …… Or should I call him master without moving …… Just a recipe for Dream Peeping Potion might not be enough to impress him.
Some people even give up their friends, family, and even their souls in order to gain a strong backing.
I have paid too little, and my strength is not strong enough. What else can I dedicate to him… an insignificant few million deposits?
Stop joking around!
Chris lowered her head in silence, her mind running at high speed, thinking constantly.
” Is this the place?” Shen Yi stopped in his tracks and asked softly.
It was only then that Chris woke up from the sea of brain mending.
“Ah, well! Yes, here it is.”
She found the two had already reached the destination, and further on was the broad Thames.
“Their lair is underwater, and originally this was the stronghold of the secret society.”
“These members of the Hidden Pupil are all scholars, history lovers, and occult enthusiasts of the table world, originally just here for secret intellectual research and discussion.” Chris added.
Shen Yi nodded in agreement and said calmly, “There will always be people like this in the Table World, chasing after the glory of the Inner World, only to end up burning like a moth to a flame.”
Chris nodded and continued: “Yes, there will always be such people…”
Maybe it’s the same for myself.
With a sigh she said, “Who knows why, all of a sudden all these people have transcendental powers and start calling themselves observers, recording all kinds of events in the inner world in their dreams, and then go mad and even turn into monsters.”
“It’s like being influenced by some extra-worldly god or mysterious relic.” Shen Yi answered one step ahead.
‘I need to act more like a real envoy… I must not let them discover the truth.’
“Yes, that’s exactly what it is. It’s your wise judgment.”
Chris sent out her compliments in a timely manner. Her subordinates flattered her like this at the beginning, and she was just learning from now on.
But as soon as she finished speaking, Chris blushed immediately.
It was the first time that she had been flattering others. There was a feeling of kneeling down to hold shoes for someone, which was very uncomfortable, awkward, and even vaguely disgusted with herself.
Shen Yi smiled faintly, completely unaware of what the other party was thinking, and just said, “Thanks for the compliment, but it’s better to avoid the word ‘wise’.”
As a veteran Internet user, Shen Yi would have a conditioned reflex to some words that were alienated by the Internet.
Although he also knew that the other party was not cursing, he just responded.
Hey …… Chris looked blank and completely confused about what she had done wrong.
“I see.”
She felt a little wronged.
Shen Yi didn’t think too much and began to think about important things.
Since it is underwater …… How to get into it? It is better to use the “white flame” for a simple test first.
Shen Yi stretched out his right arm, and the white flame rose from it, and immediately rushed to the surface of the water, searching for clues under exquisite control.
Chris was full of shock.
She felt a new Extraterrestrial god’s breath, hot, twisted, thick!
Which made her almost unable to breathe!
Chris was far less powerful and willed than George, Byron, and Su Ling, yet on the other hand, her inspiration was much higher than ordinary people, she was at a rather awkward stage.
She could be strongly influenced, but could barely resist!
Chris’ face flushed in red for lack of breath, clutching her chest she stared intently at the man next to her, her eyes bristling with connivance and fear of despair.
Shen Yi stopped the white flame in time and smiled softly: “I’m sorry if I scared you.”
Chris opened her mouth and took a big breath.
“No, it’s all right!”
It was also the first time for Shen Yi to see someone with such a big reaction, and he felt a little strange.
The feeling just now still makes Chris feel intimidated, as if she was buried in a pile of ashes, unable to breathe, waiting to die in the heat.
Now she completely realized the terrificness of the cafe owner, if this man really wanted to kill her, he didn’t even need to actually launch any attacks …… The mere aftermath of his ability was so terrifying!
It was really too scary, at least a disaster level powerhouse.
As for the untouchable level, she was a little unimaginable. She only learned about it from a few words. It is said that that kind of existence is close to the gods…so her imagination could only reach the disaster level at most.
There were only two disaster-level powerhouses in the whole of Beland, and all of them were really strong without exception, and many people in the world didn’t even have the chance to meet them.
With an umbrella in his hand, Shen Yi said calmly: “I found a switch, as long as we pass there, we can go to the lair.”
Chris nodded her head, folded her arms around her chest, and said nothing.
She was still shaken by one shock after another.
Shen Yi calmly led her to a location, located in the middle of two plain trees by the river.
“This is it.”
Just now, he used the white flame to find a not-so-complex invisible mechanism underwater.
Fortunately, the way to open it was not too complicated, and his own special condition prevented him from using the vast majority of the invisible arts.
It was strange.
He stomped his feet lightly three times, and opened the mechanism, behind them came a roar, and soon appeared a staircase leading to the ground.
He said with a smile, “It seems the lair is not inside the water, but underneath the river.”
“Well, you… … Hmm.”Chris was going to give another compliment, but as the words came to her lips she swallowed them.
Because last time it went askew.
“You’re very smart.” She grudgingly uttered a word.
As the pair glide down the stairs, their surroundings darkened, Chris makes a witty use of a simple, invisible technique.
She took out a piece of white paper with a special spell drawn on the four corners, and a pattern symbolizing the primordial fire on the bottom—a huge golden-red flame.
“O great Primordial Fire, I call you, please say, there is light.”
The Primordial Fire was the only positive god on the Second Continent, as well as an extra-worldly god with the largest number of worshipers in the world, with at least half of the two billion people belonging to His followers.
The time He represents was twelve noon.
The nature phase was the lamp.
The invisible technique worked, and a small ball of light suddenly floated in mid-air, its core burning and immediately lighting up around it.
“Praise the sun.”
Chris added subconsciously, as the spell took shape.
The ball of light fell into her palm and followed Chriss’s pace.
Shen Yi envied her, just very, very envious, he himself obviously had a great deal of knowledge in Yare’s soul, but he was unable to use the vast majority of the invisible spells.
“Let’s go.”
The two continued walking under the floating light.
Shen Yi suddenly felt some kind of foul smell and subconsciously frowned.
Chris also smelled it, which was obviously the smell of flesh and blood corpses.
She said nervously: “It seems that this place has really changed from a stronghold of secret associations to a lair of monsters.”
A shrill howl heard, and soon, a half-human, half-fish monster rushed out of the darkness, with an ugly fish-shaped head with its mouth open ferociously.
Without hesitation, Shen Yi flung his threaded cane out.
The black whip, like a hollow blade, strikes a monster in midair.
The monster immediately shattered with a “bang”, like a cotton puppet hit by a bullet, but what fell on the ground wasn’t cotton, but countless flesh and blood.
Shen Yi felt nausea, but he didn’t know how to control the power perfectly.
“Clean it.”
He knew that Chris must have had the relevant intangible skills, and in fact, this was a very basic intangible skill, the first intangible skill that Shen Yi tried to learn.
As long as he learned this, the coffee shop could immediately save the cost of a new employee!
It’s a pity that he couldn’t grasp it even after learning it for a long time.
Chris was dumbfounded, already looking silly on the sidelines. The mysterious man beside her was incomparably violent every time he struck, and had to leave his enemies in tatters, reduced to a bloody mess to do so!
It was too horrible!
“Yes, yes!”
She subconsciously nodded her head, then reacted, and her pretty face immediately revealed a look of excitement.
I seem to have the opportunity to become Mr. Shen’s vassal!
Chris was extremely happy, and then thought of another thing… If she didn’t perform well, this might be her fate. Looking down at the flesh and blood on the ground she shuddered at the mere possibility.
