Farm Girl’s Space: Picking Up a Major Villain during the Runaway Journey Chapter 192

Chapter 192: Papermaking

The matchmakers had nearly all arrived, but due to Shen Dalang and his brothers attending school in recent days, the matter of marriage discussions had been temporarily set aside.

Shen Yu’an finally found a moment to catch her breath.

With no more matchmakers scrutinizing her, the air felt noticeably fresher.

As well as she can focus more on her plan.

After Shen Yu’an finished her written plan, she looked for Ji Xun to inquire.

She found Ji Xun in his room and was about to go outside.

Shen Yu’an pulled Ji Xun over and showed him the plans she had written down, asking for his input and advice.

Ji Xun looked at the dozens of sheets of paper and asked, “Is this what you mentioned about setting up a factory?”

Shen Yu’an nodded and said, “Yes, take a look.”

Ji Xun took the paper filled with writing and carefully flipped through it.

After reading it, he commented, “The idea is good, but this method seems untried. Are you sure it will work?”

What Shen Yu’an had written down was a method for papermaking.

She had gathered quite a bit of information from her knowledge in the space, combined with some fragments of memory from her mind.

Since arriving here, Shen Yu’an had been enduring the inconvenience of not having paper whenever she needed.

Even though she could secretly use from the space, the sneaky feeling and inconvenience were bothersome.

So, she had the idea to establish such a factory.

The papermaking technology of this era was far too outdated, and this was one of the fundamental reasons why villagers couldn’t afford to educate their children extensively.

The complexity of papermaking led to paper and books being expensive, beyond the reach of ordinary people.

Not to mention producing paper suitable for everyday use.

She said, “Barring any unexpected obstacles, it should be feasible.”

Ji Xun raised an eyebrow and said, “That’s when unexpected things might happen.”

Seeing Shen Yu’an about to burst out, Ji Xun continued, “If all that you’ve written is feasible, it could indeed save a lot of money for impoverished students when buying Xuan paper. However, it will depend on the quality of the paper you produce.”

“But… what do you mean by usable paper?”

After thinking for a moment, Shen Yu’an explained, “It means paper that anyone can use besides scholars writing, like for restroom purposes or… when women have their periods.”

Ji Xun suddenly turned red in the face, stuttering and stumbling over his words as he pointed at Shen Yu’an, trying to say something but only managing a series of incoherent utterances.

He cleared his throat and adjusted his collar, looking like he was about to burst into laughter.

“You’re a woman, how can you speak so bluntly!”

Without offering any further advice to Shen Yu’an, Ji Xun exploded in anger and stormed out.

Halfway out, he realized that it was his own room, so he returned and pushed Shen Yu’an out.

As Shen Yu’an was being pushed outside, she hurriedly gathered the papers from the table into her hands.

“Hey hey hey, what are you doing? Can you at least tell me if my ideas are feasible?”

Annoyed, Ji Xun continued to push her out, replying with frustration.

 “Feasible, feasible!”

Shen Yu’an smiled and said, “If it’s feasible, then how about doing me a favor?”

Ji Xun stopped and asked, “Why did you come to me for this? I don’t understand anything about papermaking. So, what’s up?”

Shen Yu’an grinned and turned around, saying, “Haven’t you always boasted about having a wide network of connections? How about you pull some strings for me?”

Ji Xun looked puzzled, “What do you need that for? Are you short on money? It shouldn’t be that, right?”

Shen Yu’an rolled the papers into a tube and tapped him on the head, “You’re clueless. With this cost-effective and simple papermaking method, I’d be blocking the original sources of income for those people. Do you think they’ll let me proceed smoothly?”

Ji Xun thought about it for a moment and realized she was right. He pondered for a while and considered that this was a significant endeavor, potentially bringing huge profits.

He needed to find someone trustworthy for her.

After a moment, he slapped his forehead and told Shen Yu’an, “There’s the perfect candidate, and you didn’t even think of it.”
