“Are you intentionally trying to pick a fight here? If I didn’t want you here and wanted you to leave, do you think you could stay at my place for so long?” Wang Jinhe rolled his eyes in a rather impolite manner; this guy sure knew how to get himself into trouble.
Su Yu, suppressing a smile, looked at Wang Jinhe and said, “Being with you is quite relaxing.”
This was the truth. It had been a long time since he had felt this relaxed. Every day, after waking up, he taught the kids martial arts and how to read. Then, he spent time playing with them. These days made him reluctant to go back.
“Are you trying to say that you find it boring here?” Wang Jinhe glanced at Su Yu and remarked.
“Who said that? I’ve been on the move since I was fourteen, rarely having the time to rest like this. Besides, how can I be bored with the kids around? It’s interesting to do different things with you every day,” Su Yu replied with a smile.
Speaking of the kids, Wang Jinhe raised an eyebrow and said, “You didn’t mention the kids until now. They haven’t even gotten up yet. If you’re planning to leave, you should talk to Xiao Bao yourself.”
During this time, Xiao Bao had grown very fond of Su Yu, and if Su Yu were to suddenly tell him that he was leaving, Xiao Bao would definitely get upset. He might even think that Su Yu wouldn’t come back.
Su Yu felt a headache coming on and said, “You really have to help me with this.”
Wang Jinhe, with a teasing look, said, “Can’t you handle this little thing on your own? Why do you need my help?”
Su Yu felt even more troubled and said, “I really can’t handle this on my own. I genuinely need your help. If it weren’t for the fact that I really need to go back for something on that end, I wouldn’t leave here.”
After he returned, he would definitely deal with Su Jing and make sure he didn’t dare to cause trouble for him anymore. He had finally managed to improve his relationship a bit with his son and Wife, and now this guy was here to make trouble for him, wasn’t he?
“Is it very tricky?” Wang Jinhe asked Su Yu.
“Not tricky, just disgusting,” Su Yu replied.
Wang Jinhe paused for a moment, looking surprised, and said, “Isn’t he your younger brother? Is it right to speak of him like that?”
“He doesn’t have any real talent; he just knows how to do things to disgust people. Is that not disgusting?” Su Yu asked seriously, looking at Wang Jinhe.
After giving it some thought, Wang Jinhe nodded seriously, “You’re not wrong about that; he’s indeed quite disgusting.”
“So, when you go back this time…”
Su Yu sneered, “He dared to disturb my time with my son. When I go back this time, if I don’t give him a good beating down the moment I see him, I’ll take his last name.”
Wang Jinhe gave Su Yu a sidelong glance and said, “There’s really no need. Both of you already share the same last name.”
“…” Su Yu realized that his wife never held back when poking fun at him, just like now.
“Wife, we’re a family. Why do you always enjoy poking at my heart?” Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe discontentedly.
Wang Jinhe stomped on Su Yu’s foot hard, “Who’s your wife? Did we get married? If you dare to call me that again, just wait and see.”
Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe helplessly and said, “Isn’t that just a matter of time?”
“You just said ‘sooner or later,'” she said. Whenever she says it’s the right time, and if he dares to call her anything else in the meantime, he must not want to live.
Su Yu looked helplessly at Wang Jinhe. Well, whatever she says goes. After all, he owed her a lot.
“Are the watermelons ripe? I’ll take some back with me,” Su Yu decided to change the topic.
“There should be over a hundred of them,” Yan Shu thought for a moment and replied.
“Alright, I’ll pick them all and take them with me.”
“Okay.”
After dinner, Su Yu took Xiao Bao into the yard and said, “Little Bao, there’s something I need to tell you.”
“Are you leaving?” Xiao Bao turned his head to look at Su Yu.
Su Yu looked surprised. “How did you know?”
“I overheard you talking to Mom during the day,” Xiao Bao pouted and looked at Su Yu with disapproval. “Didn’t you say you weren’t going to leave?”
He liked having Daddy here; he was happy and content when he spent time with him every day. Sometimes, playing with toys next to Daddy and Big Brother Zhi made him very happy.
Now that he heard Daddy was leaving, he wasn’t happy at all.
Su Yu rubbed Xiao Bao’s head with his hand and said helplessly, “Daddy doesn’t want to leave either, but someone wants to take away the things Daddy gave to you and Mom. Do you think Daddy should go get them back?”
After a long time of tilting his head, Xiao Bao finally asked, “Daddy, will you come back after you leave?” As he asked this question, he gripped Su Yu’s clothes nervously.
“Of course, Xiao Bao and Mom are both here. Where else would I go? If Grandpa finds out I abandoned Xiao Bao and didn’t take care of you, Daddy will be in trouble,” Su Yu said in a pitiful tone.
Xiao Bao tilted his head and asked curiously, “Why would Grandpa want to punish Daddy?”
“Because Grandpa doesn’t want Daddy to be a bad person.”
“Is Grandpa very strict?” Xiao Bao looked at Su Yu curiously.
“Grandpa isn’t strict. When Xiao Bao goes to see him, Grandpa will definitely like you very much.”
Xiao Bao looked at Su Yu with some confusion. Didn’t Daddy say that Grandpa was going to punish him? Isn’t that strict?
“Grandpa only punishes Daddy when Daddy does something wrong. If Daddy doesn’t do anything wrong, he won’t punish him, and he won’t be strict either.” Su Yu explained with a smile, as if he could see the confusion in Xiao Bao’s eyes.
Xiao Bao suddenly understood, “Mom can be strict too when Xiao Bao does something wrong.”
“Mom is strict with Xiao Bao because she doesn’t want you to make the same mistakes in the future,” Su Yu comforted Xiao Bao as he held him.
Xiao Bao nodded vigorously, “I know Mom is doing it for my own good, so I’m not angry. Daddy, you shouldn’t be angry with Grandpa either.”
“Okay.”
“Will Grandpa like Mom?” Xiao Bao asked curiously. If Grandpa didn’t like Mom, then he wouldn’t like Grandpa either.
“Of course, he will.”
Satisfied, Xiao Bao nodded. He held onto Su Yu’s neck and said earnestly, “Daddy, after you’re done with your work, you have to come back. And you have to bring gifts for me and Mom. When you go back, you also have to bring great grandpa and grandma gifts. After that we can eat a big watermelon, as well as the tomatoes that Mom planted too.”
Watching Xiao Bao count how many things he wanted to bring, Su Yu’s heart melted. How could Xiao Bao be so cute?
“Alright, you can choose whatever you want me to bring for you.”
Xiao Bao wiggled his little legs in Su Yu’s arms and said, “Lets go home already, there are lots of mosquitoes trying to bite us.”
“Alright, we’re going home,” Su Yu said as he carried Little Bao back. Wang Jinhe watched the harmonious scene between the two of them and raised an eyebrow, saying, “It looks like you’ve talked things out with Xiao Bao.”
“Of course, Xiao Bao is so obedient. As long as we explain things nicely to him, he can understand, right, Xiao Bao?” Su Yu looked at Little Bao and asked.
Xiao Bao nodded, “Yes, the things my Mom owns can’t be taken away by anyone. They belong to our family.”
