Farm Girl’s Space: Picking Up a Major Villain during the Runaway Journey Chapter 214

Chapter 214: Poisoned

Fei Yanchen flipped through a few pages of the book and his face darkened as he read its contents.

He had been too careless.

These people who came to capture him had somehow gathered a lot of information about him.

One of the entries read: “The Crown Prince of Wuding once appeared at the Shen family in Longxian Village.”

Whenever he visited the Shen family, he would usually avoid being seen, but on the day when Shen Dalang and Shen Yu’an was having an assessment many had caught a glimpse of him, many people had witnessed him going to the Shen family.

Fortunately, this information hasn’t been sent out today. If the people in the capital found out, they would spare no effort to capture me.

Fei Yanchen’s displeasure was evident. Shen Yu’an said, “What’s wrong? You’re seriously injured. Let’s go home and treat your wounds.”

Fei Yanchen glanced deeply at Shen Yu’an and replied, “I won’t go down the mountain. The news that I’m still alive has already spread. Contact with you too much will put you in danger.”

“Then, where can you go in your condition?”

As Shen Yu’an asked this, she began to expand her mental awareness, searching for any caves or hiding spots on the mountain.

“Up the mountain.”

“Ah?” Shen Yu’an was puzzled. What did he mean by “up the mountain”? Weren’t they already on the mountain?

Seeing Shen Yu’an’s confusion, Fei Yanchen decided to let go of the effort he was exerting to support himself and leaned against her.

Shen Yu’an, in turn, embraced the heavily injured Fei Yanchen and supported him.

“I have people deeper in these mountains. Just take me there.”

“Alright.” Shen Yu’an supported Fei Yanchen and followed the path he indicated, taking careful steps deeper into the mountain range.

With one hand supporting Fei Yanchen and the other gripping the dagger, she remained vigilant against any potential dangers that might arise in the deep wilderness.

Strangely, as they walked for a considerable distance, not a single large animal had appeared.

What Shen Yu’an didn’t know was that Fei Yanchen had chosen this location for a reason. He had already taken measures to eliminate the occasional threats in the area.

The animals had been scared away by Fei Yanchen’s people, and no creatures dared to approach this path.

Cough, cough, cough! Fei Yanchen hurriedly used his sleeve to cover his mouth, and the blood he coughed up stained his sleeve and the corners of his lips.

Black-brown blood!

Shen Yu’an instinctively halted her steps and asked anxiously, “Are you poisoned?”

She then examined the wounds on Fei Yanchen’s body that had been scratched, and without exception, all the wounds displayed a black color.

Seeing the color of the blood he had coughed up, Fei Yanchen understood that the weapons used by the group of people earlier had been coated with poison.

His lips had already turned blue, and Shen Yu’an regretted not noticing his poisoning even after walking such a long way.

Fortunately, Fei Yanchen’s life was not in grave danger.

Shen Yu’an said, “Let me help you find a place to sit for a while.”

She guided Fei Yanchen to a large tree and helped him sit down slowly.

She wasn’t a doctor, but luckily, in her storage space’s armory, she had some antidote pills.

Antidote pills were not something you could find in a store; they were rewards she had received in her past life after completing missions, and over time, she had accumulated a few.

However, this item couldn’t be regenerated, and Shen Yu’an wouldn’t use it unless it was absolutely necessary.

After helping him sit down, Shen Yu’an bent over as if rummaging through her backpack.

She then pulled out a porcelain bottle containing a detoxification pill and a water pouch, handing them to Fei Yanchen.

“Here, take this first. It’s an antidote.”

Fei Yanchen trusted her without suspicion and swallowed the pill she gave him.

After swallowing the antidote, Fei Yanchen looked down at the white jade bottle he was idly rubbing between his fingers and casually remarked, “You’ve prepared quite a lot of things for this trip up the mountain.”

Shen Yu’an chuckled and explained, “There are many snakes and insects in the mountains. It’s always better to be prepared.”

“You little trickster!” Fei Yanchen couldn’t help but complain inwardly.

He had long noticed something strange about Shen Yu’an, like how she always seemed to have something up her sleeve during their journey through the wilderness. However, he hadn’t exposed her, just like he had his own secrets hidden away. He wouldn’t press Shen Yu’an for answers.

He would wait until she was ready to open up to him; there was no rush.

Shen Yu’an took the water pouch, sealed it tightly, and placed it back in her backpack.

She spoke up again, asking, “How far is the place you mentioned from here, and can we make it?”

“If you can’t keep up, I’ll carry you there,” Shen Yu’an said.

He glanced at Shen Yu’an, then leaned against a tree and stood up again.

He couldn’t bear the thought of Shen Yu’an carrying him back in front of his subordinates; it would be too embarrassing.

With gritted teeth, he replied, “Alright.”

But as soon as he took a step, Fei Yanchen’s body swayed, and he almost fell to the ground.

Shen Yu’an sighed in resignation and quickly placed one of his arms over her shoulder.

She quipped, “If you can’t walk, you can’t walk; I’m not mocking you.” Stubborn pride can be quite the ordeal!

After another two quarters of an hour, Shen Yu’an finally reached the place Fei Yanchen had mentioned.

Looking around, she saw rows of stone and wooden houses neatly arranged in an open area.

Her keen ears picked up the sounds of weapons being exchanged.

Although there were no voices here, the place was filled with other sounds.

In this remote mountainous area, it seemed unusually bustling.

Shen Yu’an looked at Fei Yanchen in astonishment and asked, “Are all these people yours?”

Fei Yanchen smiled and replied, “Yes, I’ll brought you in to have a look.”

“You’ve been poisoned; you should rest first.”

As they walked a bit further, they could see people stationed with weapons or patrolling back and forth.

When they saw Fei Yanchen returning, those people all bowed respectfully.

Only after Shen Yu’an and Fei Yanchen had passed did they dare to stand together and whisper to each other.

These people had been following Fei Yanchen or the Warlord for quite some time, so they spoke without much concern.

“The master actually brought a woman back!”

“Didn’t you see the master was injured? He must have just picked someone to escort him back.”

“Just picked someone? Have you ever seen that woman casually approach the master?”

The person couldn’t argue but still stubbornly refused to agree with the others, saying, “Well… this might be a special case.”

“Did you guys see it? Just now, the way the master looked at that woman, tsk tsk tsk, like a young boy in love! Hahaha!”

“You dare to make up stories about the master like that, and the master might just whip you!”

“The master can win over any woman; those noble ladies in the capital will have to line up to marry him.”

“Anyway, I think the woman the master brought back just now suits him.”

“You can tell she’s not ordinary from the way the master looks at her.”

The few people who had been on guard duty ended up arguing fiercely, their faces turning red, and they even started placing bets in the end.

Shen Yu’an had no idea that those people were also placing bets behind her back.

Unable to resist Fei Yanchen’s insistence, Shen Yu’an reluctantly accompanied him to the central area where the soldiers were training and received their salutes, winning the bet.

Fei Yanchen had his own agenda as well, which was to have his subordinates get acquainted with Shen Yu’an.

After they completed their tour, Fei Yanchen was satisfied with his hidden agenda and left directly, unaware of the excitement brewing among his subordinates.

The leader of the soldiers in charge of training noticed that their minds were wandering and decided to give them a break, seeing that they were all distracted and not focused on their drills.
