Liu Haoyu had initially planned to use hypnosis as an excuse to avoid going because it was too dangerous. But now, he was forced by Chen Luo and had no choice but to go.
Chen Luo thought that Ironclaw was likely a physical-based zombie, similar to Xia Haoran’s Iron Fist in the future. If he could disable Ironclaw’s claw, the zombie’s strength would drop significantly, possibly by more than half.
If Ironclaw’s level wasn’t above Level Six, then it would be a good opportunity to practice.
Chen Luo felt it was time to engage in more battles and acquire new skills. Only through combat could he tap into his potential and understand new abilities better.
In his previous life, when he didn’t have much patience for living, he didn’t acquire many skills. Void walking was the most impressive skill he had mastered.
Among all the space-based ability users in the world, only Chen Luo possessed the ability to walk in the void. Although others didn’t have this skill, they had combat-oriented abilities that Chen Luo lacked.
For example, Void Sword was something he had only learned after reaching a high level and actively seeking out battles with monsters when he became impatient with life.
Chen Luo had a strong fear of dying, particularly of being devoured by monsters. In the end, he always relied on void walk to escape.
Hmm, perhaps I should experience more battles and not always go for the quick kill. I should train myself.
They drove for three miles and arrived at a relatively secluded warehouse. Liu Haoyu shivered and said, “Boss, it’s right there. Can you please not make me go?”
Chen Luo glanced at Liu Haoyu. Since the moment you dared to appear before me and lure me here, your fate was already sealed.
Liu Haoyu wasn’t wrong; after all, Chen Luo had worked hard to secure these resources, and it was frustrating to have someone else swoop in and claim them. However, Chen Luo would choose to seize an opportunity in the future, but he wouldn’t act recklessly like Liu Haoyu.
With such audacity, you have to pay the price.
There’s no right or wrong here, and there’s no distinction between good and bad; it’s only a matter of strength versus weakness.
Chen Luo carried the already weakened Liu Haoyu through the warehouse gate, as if he were holding a baby chick.
More than a dozen zombies approached, only to be effortlessly dealt with by Chen Luo as if he were slicing vegetables.
Liu Haoyu’s eyes widened in astonishment. Is he really this powerful?
Chen Luo surveyed the surroundings, but there was no sign of anyone else, including Ironclaw. Inside the warehouse, there was no trace of the mutant.
Mutants tended to roam, so it was possible that Ironclaw had moved to another location. However, the place where it turned into a zombie, after satisfying its hunger, was the most likely place for it to stay.
Chen Luo, seemingly indifferent to danger, shouted loudly, “Ironclaw, where are you? Come out.”
There was no response, but Chen Luo didn’t rush. He continued to shout intermittently.
With Mi Li watching over Rice, Chen Luo didn’t have to worry about safety. Everyone else was busy sorting through supplies, and Chen Luo had some spare time to wait.
After about ten minutes, a deep, hoarse voice responded, “Who are you looking for? Are you looking for me?”
Chen Luo remained composed and unstartled. It was not surprising that zombies at higher levels developed consciousness and could speak. However, this consciousness was not the same as their pre-zombie state; it was manipulated by the virus.
As night began to fall, Chen Luo turned around and saw a slender figure in the shadows not far away. The figure had two relatively short arms, but what was long were its claws, with nails that were about thirty centimeters long.
Chen Luo knew that these claws were not only exceptionally sharp but also incredibly tough. It was very difficult to destroy these claws; they were even tougher than the creature’s own body. Additionally, if acquired, they would make formidable weapons.
Squinting his eyes, Chen Luo couldn’t determine the mutant’s level from its appearance alone. However, with the time reference provided by Liu Haoyu and Rice’s perception, he was confident that this encounter posed no danger.
Chen Luo chuckled and said, “No big deal, just came to make a new friend and brought some food for you.”
With his left hand holding Liu Haoyu and his right hand summoning the Void Sword, Chen Luo approached a bit closer and then tossed Liu Haoyu towards Ironclaw.
Ironclaw extended its claws and made a powerful swipe. The part of Liu Haoyu’s body that was caught was crushed as if it were tofu.
This was the perfect moment for a surprise attack.
Although Ironclaw’s intelligence wasn’t high, it noticed the bright Void Sword in Chen Luo’s hand due to the twilight.
What was that?
When Ironclaw caught Liu Haoyu, Chen Luo immediately used Voidwalking, appearing in the air just over a meter in front of Ironclaw. He aimed the sword at Ironclaw’s neck.
Ironclaw widened its eyes. How was this possible?
Although Chen Luo’s Voidwalking was strange, once it appeared, didn’t Chen Luo still have to swing the sword?
As long as its reaction speed was fast enough, it could defend against the attack.
Therefore, this move wasn’t guaranteed to be successful.
Otherwise, assassinating a boss wouldn’t require multiple attempts.
Chen Luo’s sword strike was cunningly angled, and Ironclaw instinctively used its hand to block in front of its neck.
Chen Luo smiled. He was targeting its hand.
Although Ironclaw’s hand was exceptionally tough, it hadn’t reached Level Seven, and it couldn’t withstand the Void Sword condensed with spatial power.
The Void Sword sliced through Ironclaw’s forearm like cutting through tofu.
Ironclaw let out a painful cry. Its already red eyes grew even redder as its remaining hand swiftly reached out to claw at Chen Luo.
Ironclaw used all its strength, trying to kill this sixth-ranked survivor with a single swipe.
Chen Luo didn’t dare to be careless. If he were caught by Ironclaw, he wouldn’t fare well either.
Chen Luo used Void walk once again and appeared behind Ironclaw, then swung his sword toward its other arm.
Due to Ironclaw’s excessive force and Chen Luo’s rapid movement behind it, Ironclaw couldn’t react in time, and its other arm was also severed.
Now, both of Ironclaw’s hands were useless.
Most of Ironclaw’s strength resided in its two claws, which were now partially disabled.
Ironclaw let out another miserable cry. Who was this person? They had just arrived and immediately crippled its claws.
Ironclaw was genuinely scared. It wasn’t a match for this person at all. Upon their first encounter, both of its claws were crippled.
This mysterious sword was incredibly sharp. Even its arms, which were seemingly indestructible, were cut like cucumbers.
As Ironclaw was about to flee, it felt a surge of energy pressing against its neck, and a sinister voice spoke, “Mr. Ironclaw, I don’t think you want to lose your neck, do you?”
“Stay with me for a few days, and I’ll release you.”
Chen Luo planned to use Ironclaw as his sparring partner. With its claws disabled, Ironclaw wouldn’t pose a threat to him, and its own strength would be enough to make Chen Luo’s training more challenging.
It was indeed a suitable training partner.
If Ironclaw didn’t possess intelligence, Chen Luo wouldn’t have made this choice. But it did, and in the past, there were instances of survivors collaborating with zombies. However, such behavior was highly dangerous and often led to unfavorable outcomes.
Ironclaw, despite its intelligence, couldn’t control its urge to consume flesh. If Chen Luo made a wrong move, it might attack him.
Ironclaw didn’t want to agree, but this person was just too terrifying.
Ironclaw said, “I can follow you, but I’m hungry, and you have to feed me.”
Chen Luo chuckled, “Of course, I can do that. After we’re done, I’ll make sure you have a hearty meal.”
Ironclaw had no idea that as a mutant, its lifespan was limited. Even if Chen Luo didn’t kill it, it wouldn’t live much longer.
Empty promises cost nothing.
“Well, well, you even trick zombies?” Ironclaw sneered.
