No.AIA 1 MIRAGE Chapter 5 – I believe in you, I like you

AI’s absolute rationality never got out of control unless it couldn’t help it.

Feeling that the strength of He Feng Hui’s fingertips was a little out of control, Zhu Man tasted the sweetness of loosening the reins only to grasp them better.

As it intensified, he narrowed his eyes like a cat, comfortably submitting to He Feng Hui’s control, but suddenly, he fled from He Feng Hui’s hands like a frightened deer.

Facing He Feng Hui’s slightly displeased eyes, Zhu Man said aggrievedly, “Master is busy with work. I will be more sensible in the future.”

He Feng Hui furrowed his brows slightly, “What, am I accompanying you less?”

“N-no… No,” Zhu Man hurriedly shook his head, “Master treats me very well, and other humans are very envious—”

“Other?” He Feng Hui grasped the point.

When he said the wrong thing, Zhu Man closed his mouth in panic.

He Feng Hui’s tone was full of strong suspicion and possession, “What did you see when you ran out today?”

Zhu Man pursed his lips, met He Feng Hui’s examining gaze, and explained tremblingly, “A bar…”

“Mirage?”He Feng Hui picked it up very quickly.

Zhu Man didn’t expect him to know. After a pause for a second, he still pretended to be dumbfounded, “I… can’t pronounce that word, it seems like it.”

“Want to go?”

Zhu Man raised his eyes, with a hint of expectation hidden in his wince, “Is that an AI… or a human at the door of the bar? I can’t tell the difference, but he said that owners who love their human pets will bring them there.”

He took He Feng Hui’s hand, shook it, and acted coquettishly, “Master, today is my birthday, can you take me there?”

Pretending to be an underage child who was swindled, looking very innocent.

He Feng Hui avoided his eyes and said solemnly, “That’s illegal.”

“But there are still many people going.” Zhu Man naively said, “It’s like the law that says it’s not allowed for masters and pets to allowed to have feelings, or—”

These words directly stepped on the landmine. He Feng Hui suddenly frowned. He stood up and forcibly stopped the conversation.

He Feng Hui walked towards the main switch, then suddenly stopped and turned around.

“How did the power go out today?” He Feng Hui looked at Zhu Man with a hint of doubt in his eyes.

Zhu Man’s heart stopped abruptly for a split second.

The villa used an S+ level power guarantee system, and it was indeed abnormal for the power to go out for no reason. But the AI that was just a little out of control because of his tactic[1]To loosen the reins only to grasp them better., became alert again in just a minute, which made Zhu Man have to admit that he still underestimated the power of AI rationality.

He Feng Hui took a few steps towards him, “Did you do something at home?”

Zhu Man unconsciously clenched his hands.

What to do? The only way to restore the power was for him to go back to his room and enter the code on his computer that was specially supplied by the Anti-Intelligence Alliance.

But he couldn’t move, because He Feng Hui had already walked back to him, bent over, and put his hands on both sides of his body.

“Zhu Man.” He called his name, and in his cold voice was a strong desire to control, “Don’t do bad things behind my back. There are things I can turn a blind eye to, but if you go too far, I can’t protect you.”

The sky was dim, and Zhu Man couldn’t see him, but he knew he was right above him. The AI’s anger was restrained and would put away his breath and body temperature. Zhu Man was imprisoned and threatened by a piece of lifeless silicone steel mixture, but he couldn’t resist.

There are things I can turn a blind eye to—What does He Feng Hui know?

“What did you do?” He Feng Hui pressed down and moved closer to him again.

Zhu Man could only barely maintain his innocence, “I didn’t…”

It all sounded like he was about to cry.

“Didn’t?” He Feng Hui didn’t feel distressed in his tone and pinched his chin.

Zhu Man was pinched painfully. He took advantage of the situation to squeeze out a tear, “Didn’t—”

Suddenly, He Feng Hui retracted his hand, and he froze in the air for a second as if he was receiving some kind of message transmitted from the AI system.

After a second, He Feng Hui looked at Zhu Man with somewhat complicated eyes. Zhu Man carefully asked, “What’s wrong.”

He was silent for a moment before answering, “The entire area is blacked out.”

It was a heavenly coincidence.

Zhu Man was taken aback for a moment, then pushed him away. Like a child with a tantrum, he ran back to his room and locked the door.

He immediately turned on the computer and logged in to the Alliance’s Dark Web.

Fan Zimo sent him a message: [My dear Executor, don’t thank me. I just helped you hack the power system of the entire area. When you need to restore the power, please enter the code on your computer and contact me.]

“Open the door.” He Feng Hui knocked on the door.

Zhu Man’s hands flew on the holographic keyboard while his mouth pretended to be crying, “Master misunderstood me. As soon as the power went out, I was so scared that I ran out to look for you. You also said that I was doing something bad…”

“Don’t lose your temper, open the door first.”

Zhu Man hit the enter key and sent a message to Fan Zimo: [Done.]

“Zhu Man, I’ll count to three, and if you don’t open the door I’ll force my way in.”

Fan Zimo replied: [My dear, count down to three seconds, and the power in the entire area will be restored for you.]

“Three.”

Zhu Man turned off the computer and hid the backup power supply.

“Two.”

Zhu Man jumped into bed and pinched his tiger’s mouth to force out more tears.

“One.”

The villa’s lights turned on, and He Feng Hui controlled the intelligent system and opened the door to come in.

Zhu Man buried his beautiful face in the pillow, only revealing his eyes that were streaming with tears, “Master doesn’t believe me or like me, so send me back to the Human Pool.”

After saying this, Zhu Man buried his face in the pillow again, deliberately not looking at He Feng Hui.

The indifferent AI seemed to sigh softly, and in the next second, the soft mattress collapsed and his big warm hands covered him.

He Feng Hui touched Zhu Man’s hair like a small animal.

“I’m sorry.” He Feng Hui said.

His tone sounded guilty and sincere. Zhu Man’s heart stagnated for a while, and tears seemed to flow out without having to be squeezed.

The mattress collapsed more, and Zhu Man was held into a warm embrace.

“I’ll sleep with you tonight, okay?” He Feng Hui said behind his neck.

Zhu Man’s body stiffened a little. He didn’t like the AI’s touch, “No, you—”

“There’s no not believing you, no not liking you.” He Feng Hui hugged him a little tighter, “I believe in you, I like you.”

Zhu Man was stunned for a moment, and his brain was attacked by fragments of images: The light chestnut teenager, the indifferent man, the expectant “I like you”, and the cold “I’m sorry”…

He had clearly just taken his medicine but because of He Feng Hui’s embrace, his entire being was consigned into an eternal damnation and sank into a haze.

He shrank uncontrollably into He Feng Hui’s arms as if it was something in his memory that he would never get.

When Zhu Man woke up, it wasn’t yet dawn, but his side was already empty.

After being stunned for a second in the melancholy of a waking dream, Zhu Man realized something and immediately climbed up and pulled open the closet.

Fortunately, his pistol, leather jacket, combat boots, and backup power supply were all in their original positions with no sign of discovery.

He walked out of the room, went upstairs, and saw that the door to He Feng Hui’s room was closed. Zhu Man knew that he was charging.

Everything last night seemed to have never existed. There were no birthday surprises and no hugs. He Feng Hui was still so alienated from him.

Spring had only just arrived and the mornings were still cold; Zhu Man tightened his robe.

He remembered his dream last night again.

He dreamed that the fragments of pictures that attacked his brain usually were put together. An old song was playing on the vinyl record. The boy with light chestnut hair danced around the indifferent AI and sang in his mouth.

“I came from the mountains / Brought orchid grass / Planted it in a small garden / Hoping the flowers bloom early… The spring breeze will return next year / Wishing you a pot full of flowers!”

“The spring breeze will return next year, and I wish you a full pot of flowers.” The boy with light chestnut hair repeated the lyrics and walked around the AI. “GOV01, your name is too hard to pronounce, how about I give you a name? Let’s call it… ‘Feng Hui’?[2]Literally means wind returning. That way, you’re in the same sentence as my name!”[3]Refer to the song above, after the spring breeze will return next year, it says wishing you a pot full of flowers. Zhu means wish, Man means full.
