Chi Yizhen was trembling as he contemplated his situation, and he stayed in He Tiao’s embrace for a while. Taking advantage of the camera not being able to capture their current positions, he pulled out his phone to check the live chat.
Fortunately, the production team didn’t specify that they couldn’t watch the live stream.
The barrage of comments from their perspective was unbearable.
It was only seven in the morning! Aren’t any of you sleeping?
[Some people look so innocent when they first meet, who would’ve thought they’d be doing that by now.]
[Am I seeing things? Is this a screenshot or a live frame? Oh, I see He Le moving.]
[I have to admit, this show has no privacy… but I love Motomoto.]
[Is Chi Yizhen really nestling in the arms of our E-God? So frustrating! Just yesterday, E God was refusing all advances, and now he’s smitten at first sight?]
[I don’t think E-God is the kind of person who can act well… Did he kidnap him?!!]
[So, where did they go in those few hours? I want to see all of it! I’m a privileged paying viewer! Don’t trick me into watching and then not show me what I came for…]
What’s that “what” they’re talking about?!
This is a serious show!!!
What’s going on?!
Chi Yizhen scrolled to the bottom and didn’t find anything strange, mostly just daring speculations from the viewers.
There’s absolutely nothing amorous happening here.
Chi Yizhen just didn’t want to kick He Tiao off.
After all, in his dream, he wanted to give Sheng Xin a good beating.
Chi Yizhen was planning to catch a few more winks, but within a few minutes, he received a new message on his phone – today’s schedule from the production team.
As a webshop model, Chi Yizhen’s character would start working officially from today.
The timing was flexible, and the location was arranged by the production team.
The sent address was a 1.5-hour drive away from this apartment building, with a check-in time at 10 o’clock.
Ten o’clock…
Ten o’clock!
Chi Yizhen suddenly jolted awake as if rising from the dead. He sat up abruptly, and due to the sudden motion, his chin collided with He Tiao’s jaw.
He Le let out a pained grunt and woke up too.
But he didn’t fully wake up, and with the drowsiness of early morning, he squinted his eyes, still half-asleep, and watched Chi Yizhen who was sitting up.
Chi Yizhen’s mind was filled with, “I can’t believe I have to do web modeling; this is just unbearable.” It felt like a brainwashing message on a loop, and he could only hope that his odd quirks wouldn’t transfer with his new body. Otherwise, he wouldn’t know how to handle things.
Previously, when he had finally gained both fame and fortune, he could naturally avoid these kinds of risks. But starting from scratch now, he had no choice but to go along with it.
But now, starting from scratch, he had no choice but to put up with it.
Endure it?
He decided to give it his best.
He felt anxious but heard He Tiao’s groan. Instinctively, he looked at him and lightly touched the chin he had accidentally bumped, saying, “Are you alright? Does it hurt?”
His concern seemed half-hearted, and He Tiao just started to feel the warmth of that touch when it was gone. Chi Yizhen swiftly moved off him, lightly crossed over to the other side, and sat on the edge of the bed. He slipped into his slippers and went to wash his face, saying, “I need to go to work now. I might be late if I don’t hurry. Cousin, you can continue sleeping.”
He Tiao hadn’t slept much the whole night, and he was still tired, so he turned over and dozed off.
[“Is this the official script now? Ah, the cohabitation atmosphere is so strong. If it weren’t for their height difference, I’d almost believe they’re a couple.”]
[“I can’t stop laughing at Chi Yizhen crossing over. I’m so wicked; I hope he crosses onto He Tiao, and then in the early morning…”]
[“Morning exercises, is it? Is this something we can discuss? Will I get banned for this?”]
User 124455 has been muted by the administrator for one hour.
[“I’m dying! Everyone, let’s keep it harmonious! This is a legitimate variety show!”]
[“Darn it, don’t these two want to save their good looks?”]
Chi Yizhen’s mind was now completely awake. After washing his face, he rummaged through his wardrobe for clothes, glanced at the camera, sighed, and went to change in the bathroom.
[“Why be so formal about it!”]
[Are they trying to tease us like this?]
It seems that due to time constraints, the production team won’t be providing transportation subsidies for Chi Yizhen but will have accompanying staff for filming. Following the map provided, the nearest bus stop to this apartment building is a 15-minute walk away.
If there’s a car…
Car… for Chi Yizhen.
In the live stream, the young man’s speed in getting ready is quite fast. The room’s cameras did not capture the process, but it’s clear enough for the viewers to see this guy’s perfunctory skincare routine. He seems to just slap on a bit of moisturizer without much thought, relying on his naturally good skin.
He doesn’t seem to have thought about clothing either; the layers of clothes he’s wearing give off a very casual student vibe.
Chi Yizhen sat on a low stool, putting on his shoes while stealing several glances at He Tiao.
He Tiao lay on the bed, covered by the duvet. He had a good night’s sleep and appeared to be in a comfortable position, with a small bump visible under the duvet.
The sunlight filtered through the narrow gaps in the curtains, casting a few beams into the small one-room apartment, revealing the floating specks of dust in the camera’s view.
The less-than-ideal soundproofing allowed viewers to hear sounds from outside the apartment building. Perhaps some children were on their way to school, their footsteps heavy with the weight of their backpacks. There were also working women climbing the stairs in high-heeled shoes.
Before leaving, Chi Yizhen boiled some water, pouring it into a thermos and also into a cup he had bought at the night market the previous evening. He had been observing He Tiao since he started putting on his shoes, and as he left the room, he hesitated as if wanting to say something. Finally, he waved to He Tiao before closing the door.
[Who exactly is Chi Yizhen’s character setting? I kind of forgot.]
[He’s a web-based model, but I remember those kinds of companies are quite far away. His commute must be quite long.]
[Did the production team really make him take the subway to work every day?]
[And he’s this close to quitting the entertainment circle, but he doesn’t need security…]
[I watched the footage edited by the production team from yesterday. It seems like their place isn’t conveniently located near public transportation, and the production team’s car takes them directly.]
[Oh, our Chi Chi probably wanted his husband to drive him…]
[But he never asked…]
