After receiving guidance from their instructor at the Department of Foreign Languages, the members of the debate group left the teaching building of the foreign language department.
Jing Li was truly a devoted girlfriend, as she had been waiting for Jing Ran under a small tree outside the teaching building of the foreign language department. The summer in G City arrived early, with the temperature gradually rising at the end of April. Jing Li felt hot and uncomfortable, so she went to the convenience store to buy a popsicle and ate it on her way back.
Coincidentally, Jing Ran and his group came out.
“Ranran,” Jing Li called out to Jing Ran while licking a popsicle.
Jing Ran pursed his lips and looked at Jing Li with a hint of disdain. Jing Ran had a weak stomach, but he loved eating cold things. His grandmother had instructed Jing Li to watch Jing Ran at school and make sure he didn’t secretly eat anything cold.
Now, here she was, waving a popsicle in front of him, “tempting” him.
“Hehe,” Jing Li felt a little embarrassed. She knew that Jing Ran couldn’t eat it, but she was still showing off in front of him, which wasn’t good. Jing Li raised the popsicle to Jing Ran’s mouth and said, “I’ll let you lick it, and I won’t tell grandma.”
Jing Li thought that the “Little Prince” would arrogantly refuse, but to her surprise, he licked it without any dignity and even took a small bite of the ice. Jing Li quickly took back the popsicle and said, “Okay, okay, you can’t have any more.”
Following behind were three junior members of the debate team, watching this couple, standing in front of them and shamelessly sprinkling dog food showing affection. It’s so tasteless and too much!
When Li Xueqing heard Jing Li mention “grandma,” she wondered whose grandma she was talking about. Could it be Jing Ran’s grandmother? Jing Ean had already taken her home to meet his parents, and did his uncle and aunt agree to him having this kind of girlfriend?
She was the last-ranked student in the management department!
The group was going to the library’s self-study room to discuss the debate topic, and Jing Li followed along. Just like before, she sat at the table next to the debate group, put on her earphones, and watched TV dramas on her phone. Occasionally, when she was bored, she glanced at the perfect profile of the “Little Prince,” and coincidentally, Jing Ran was looking at her, and the two of them exchanged smiles from time to time.
Although Jing Ran always had eye contact with Jing Li, his mind was very clear when discussing with the group members, and he was not disturbed. However, Li Xueqing felt that Jing Li was very distracting and caused Jing Ran to not pay attention to her.
Li Xueqing suddenly said sternly to Jing Li, “Classmate, could you please stay away from us? You are disturbing us.”
Li Ruihua and Fang Zhenzhen, who were in the same group, were listening seriously to Jing Ran’s opinions when they were suddenly disturbed by Li Xueqing. They looked at Jing Li, then at Li Xueqing, wondering what had just happened.
Jing Li felt somewhat puzzled. She had just winked at Jing Ran when no one was paying attention. Jing Ran was talking to the group members while winking at her.
Throwing a flirtatious look is also wrong?
It’s not like she’s throwing it at the campus belle, so why is she in such a hurry?
Li Xueqing was still staring at her, as if she had really done something to disturb others.
Seeing the awkward atmosphere, Fang Zhenzhen asked Li Xueqing, “Senior, what’s wrong?”
Li Xueqing did not explain to Fang Zhenzhen but said to Jing Li, “You are wandering around here, bothering others and disturbing our discussion!”
Jing Ran does not like Li Xueqing as a person. It’s one thing to bully him when he was a child, but now he’s even bullying his girlfriend? Before Jing Li could speak, Jing Ran said, “Classmate Li Xueqing, I don’t think you’re quite suitable for our group. Could you please leave?”
Li Xueqing stared at Jing Ran and asked, “What did you say? You’re asking me to leave the group? But the professor specifically assigned me to this group.”
Jing Ran replied indifferently, “I am the group leader, and if there is someone in the group who does not get along with other members, I will request to the instructor to make a change.”
Li Xueqing sneered, “Who in the group do I not get along with?”
Jing Ran emotionlessly answered, “Me!”
“You…” Li Xueqing was speechless with anger at Jing Ran. She thought he was still the same coward as before, but now she realized he was holding a grudge. Her previous calculations were useless. Li Xueqing picked up her own materials from the table and left with her head held high. As a favored student in the Foreign Language Department, her advisor would not agree to her leaving the group. She would wait for Jing Ran to come and beg her to return to the group.
They had been discussing for an hour, and Jing Ran asked Li Ruihua and Fang Zhenzhen to take a break. Li Ruihua and Fang Zhenzhen picked up their water bottles and went to the tea room. Jing Li walked up to Jing Ran, squeezed his shoulder, and massaged him, speaking in a pleasing tone, “Does it feel good?”
“It’s uncomfortable, it hurts!” Jing Ran didn’t like this kind of massage and squeezing.
Jing Li had just thought that Jing Ran would be slow and indifferent when others bullied his girlfriend. As a result, he directly drove Li Xueqing away.
Jing Li rewarded Jing Ran, “Ranran, I’ll treat you to a meal later.”
“I prefer kisses more.”
Hey… They had agreed that they could only kiss when they were not at school on weekends. Let’s not break the rules!

A few days later, Li Xueqing had been waiting for Jing Ran to come and beg her to return to the debate team, but Jing Ran didn’t come to find her.
She thought Jing Ran was thin-skinned and couldn’t bring himself to come, so she secretly asked a junior student in the same department, Fang Zhenzhen. Fang Zhenzhen told her that the department’s advisor had agreed to Jing Ran’s request to switch back to being a member of his previous “Molly Team”.
Li Xueqing was furious. She had originally planned to win the intercollegiate competition for the third time, but now her eligibility to participate had been revoked.
Unconsciously, it was already the May Day holiday. Before Jing Li had finished school, her mother sent her a message on WeChat to confirm if she wanted to bring her boyfriend home, and even asked if Jing Li was planning to sleep with her boyfriend. If not, her mother was prepared to tidy up the guest room at home.
Jing Li’s parents had been studying and working in the United States for over a decade, and they have relatively open-minded ideas, adopting a more hands-off approach to parenting.
When it came to their daughter having a boyfriend and how to handle the relationship, they showed a respectful attitude.
However, Jing Li had spent most of her time growing up in China and had been living at school for a long time, lacking communication with her parents. She felt a bit embarrassed to discuss such matters with her parents. She didn’t even want her family to know how close she was to Jing Ran.
Jing Li edited the information and sent it over:
[Jasmine] : Sleeping Separately
[Mother] : It’s rare to see young people nowadays being so conservative.
Jing Li was almost driven to frustration by her own mother’s response.

After school, Jing Ran and Jing Li finished lunch at school and set off back to D City. When they left the school gate, Jing Ran needed to go to the dormitory to get some luggage. Jing Ran came down from the boys’ dormitory, carrying a backpack on his back and holding several exquisite gift bags in his hands.
Curiously, Jing Li asked, “What is this?” Jing Li took the gift bags from his hands, opened them, and saw dried bird’s nest, ginseng, deer antler, and several other clearly precious tonics.
“How did you buy these?” Jing Li asked in amazement. Not to mention that Jing Ran is still a student and it’s not suitable for him to spend so much, they were just going to visit the parents, not getting engaged!
Jing Ran replied, “These were prepared by my mom and sent to the school yesterday. She said it’s just a little token of appreciation.”
Just a little token of appreciation…
Too precious…
Jing Li was worried. Next time when she visits Jing Ran’s family, she doesn’t have so much money to buy such good things.
Jing Ran could see Jing Li’s worries. Afraid that she wouldn’t let him bring the things to D City, he thought for a moment and said, “Lili, these were given by my mom’s friend. She just gave too much, and my family can’t finish it, so I brought some to your house.”
Jing Li half-believed and asked, “Really? But your family knows some wealthy people to give you so many tonics.”
“That aunt runs a wholesale tonics business, so the goods are quite cheap.” These things were indeed bought from an aunt he knew.
“Oh… well then.” Jing Li and Jing Ran each carried two bags of tonics and left the school to catch a bus to D City.
D City is right next to G City, and an hour later, they arrived at the bus station in D City. Jing Li’s parents drove over to pick up the two kids. Jing Ran and Jing Li’s parents met for the first time and left the two elderly people stunned.
Jing Li’s mother asked somewhat infatuatedly, “You… you… are you an actor?”
Jing Li felt a bit embarrassed by her mother’s behavior.
After picking up the kids, Jing Li’s father and mother drove back home. Jing Li’s father was not very talkative, but her mother was quite chatty, chatting with Jing Ran all the way, and Jing Ran behaved very politely.
“Ranran, what do your parents do for a living?” Jing Li’s mother asked inadvertently during the conversation.
Jing Li, feeling dissatisfied, said, “Mom, why do you need to ask others about these things?”
Jing Li felt that she was with Jing Ran because she liked his personality, not his family background. She didn’t want her parents to judge whether he was worth dating based on his family background.
Jing Li’s mother joked, “Look at you, you’re already protecting your boyfriend. Alright, alright, I won’t ask anymore.”
After returning home, Jing Li’s mother asked Jing Ran to rest in the guest room and then secretly pulled Jing Li aside and asked, “Ali, could this Ranran be gay? Why wouldn’t he share a room with you?”
Jing Li: “…”
Mom, do you really want to discuss this kind of issue with your own daughter?
Jing Li’s mother thought for a moment and asked, “Actually, have you two ever slept together? Are you just embarrassed to sleep with him at home?”
Jing Li: “…”
Please explain clearly what “Sleep” means?
Jing Li said a bit impatiently, “Mom, can you please not ask these kinds of questions?”
“Ah, I’m just worried about you. Look at Ranran, so handsome, good at studying, and polite. If you don’t hold on to him, what if someone else snatches him away?”
Jing Li replied proudly, “That won’t happen!”
Even if she did capture the little prince’s heart, it wouldn’t be through such vulgar methods.
Jing Li went to the guest room, locked the door, to avoid her mother’s gossip on purpose.
Jing’s father said that the company still had some matters to deal with, so he asked the two children to take a nap at home and then take them out for dinner in the evening.
Jing Li came in and locked the door without knocking. Jing Ran had just taken off a pair of underwear and was about to change into pajamas and go to bed. She had seen Little Prince’s figure as early as last week when she went to the beach. When Jing Li saw it again, she no longer felt shy as before.
Jing Li stared at Jing Ran in his pajamas. Jing Ran felt a little unnatural, put on his pajamas and asked, “Why do you keep staring at me?”
Jing Li’s cheeks turned red as she recalled some of Jing’s mother’s inappropriate hints. She really wanted to hit her head. What kind of scenes were playing out in this stupid brain that were not suitable for children?
