Pheromone Collision
Pheromone Collision Chapter 14.1

Chapter 14 1/2

The next day, Jiang Li drew a tube of blood for himself. When Gu Yunkai opened the door, he pretended to go out and then come back in.

“I have an Omega friend whose ex-boyfriend disappeared after the breakup. My friend discovered she was pregnant two weeks later and is afraid the pregnancy test might be false. Could you help with a blood test?” Jiang Ping asked.

Gu Yunkai yawned, “No problem; leave it on my desk, and I’ll take it to the lab for testing before I start work.”

The military academy’s medical school, funded heavily, had all kinds of equipment.

“Your friend’s luck is a bit…” Gu Yunkai changed his clothes with closed eyes, “hard to say. According to the current trend of Omegas having at most one child in their lifetime, if he wants to marry someone he truly loves in the future, he won’t be able to have the fruit of love.”

“Well, he probably doesn’t want to find a partner anymore.”

Gu Yunkai asked, “Did he suffer emotional trauma from the ex-boyfriend?”

Jiang Li vaguely responded.

If he didn’t get pregnant this time, he wouldn’t look for another partner.

Facing the fate of little Jiang Li.

Orphans in the orphanage had no names, using the director’s surname and a number based on their arrival time.

Jiang Li was number nineteen, and he chose his name after going to school.

“Li,” Ling Li, meaning loneliness, is a reminder not to crave a family.

Jiang, a surname of an Omega in a story, is a gentle Omega who became ambitious after setbacks.

Rivers move forward, solitary in a thousand mountains. Knowledge changes destiny.

Jiang Li walked to the laboratory and met Professor Wang Xuning downstairs.

“Did Jiang Lu mention to you that he is willing to invest in the clinical research of your adenoma drug?” Professor Wang asked.

Adenoma is mainly caused by the misuse of inhibitors. Some people use inhibitors for a long time, suppressing the body’s rhythm and never experiencing the natural sensitive period.

For someone like Jiang Li, who used inhibitors scientifically, he would put on an inhibitory patch at the end of the sensitive period and endure some discomfort, but it was better than long-term medication.

The laboratory’s project was theoretically feasible and already superior, but the subsequent phase three clinical trials were still challenging.

“Yes, he said he wants to buy it, but I find it inappropriate. The research funds are provided by the school, and I can’t make the decision,” Jiang Li replied.

Professor Wang Xuning smiled. “Most graduate students’ task is to graduate. When the dean gave you dozens of high-altitude lichen-derived compounds to study anticancer drugs, you screened data, wrote your thesis, and omitted the drug’s structure and synthesis path that you separated. There’s actually no problem. The Jiang family has great sincerity.”

“Inhibitors are being trendily misused because they are effective. I hope it becomes an affordable drug in the future. The Jiang family is a private pharmaceutical company, and the price will be set very high.”

He also had a selfish motive; the structure and synthesis path were crucial for a high score in defense; omitting them meant a significant discount.

Professor Wang Xuning nodded. “You’re right. However, the dean is currently on a business trip, and he can’t approve the funds for your clinical research, delaying the drug’s market launch.”

“I will continue to improve during this time; I have new ideas,” Jiang Li said.

Professor Wang Xuning waved, holding a thermos. “That’s good. Don’t overwork yourself.”

Jiang Li went to the second floor, worked in the lab all day, took off his glasses, and came out of the safety door. He unexpectedly saw someone unfamiliar standing in the middle of the laboratory, as if it were a sacred place.

The military academy’s labs were, in essence, confidential organizations, though not as strict as weapon warship labs.

Jiang Li’s expression turned cold. “Mr. Jiang, how did you get in?”

Jiang Lu turned around, publicly stating, “I came to find you for a date—”

“Following your teacher.”

The second sentence was spoken lightly, and only Jiang Li heard it.

“We’re not familiar; saying this will cause me trouble,” Jiang Li said.

Jiang Lu persisted, “I’m here to pursue you; can’t you see? How about going outside the school for a meal?”

“I’m busy, not accepting,” Jiang Li replied.

After locking his things and seeing Jiang Lu not leaving, he planned to let his junior keep an eye on him and leave himself.

“I forgot how to get out. Can you show me the way?” Jiang Lu asked.

Jiang Li hoped he would leave quickly, pinched his nose, and escorted him to the school gate.

There happened to be students from the “Anthropology” department distributing flyers. Jiang Li casually took one.

Interstellar netizens often jokingly referred to the daily lives of anthropology experts as storytelling because research relied on guessing and there was basically no evidence, depending on who could come up with a more reasonable story.

The flyer read, “Anthropology Debate: Was the ancient era an A-series society or an O-series society?”

“Library auditorium, students must come and listen to our debate! We have evidence of an O-series society!” A student with thick glasses waved the flyer, enthusiastically promoting it to every passing Omega.

Many Omegas expressed their intention to attend and provide support.

Jiang Li held the flyer, watched Jiang Lu leave the school gate, and then took out his phone to check the message from Gu Yunkai.

The flyer was bent to cover the phone screen.

Jiang Li unlocked the message and held his breath to read it.

Gu Yunkai: Blood test results: indeed, pregnant for two weeks.

Jiang Li: “…”

He suspected he might actually be a beta.

But betas don’t have a sensitive period, and causing impotence is not a coincidence.

He was a special Omega, with too many peculiarities. Jiang Li couldn’t help but wonder if he had overlooked something.

As the phone vibrated, an unknown number called. Jiang Li ignored it.

The caller persisted, and before blocking, Jiang Li thought for a moment and answered.

It turned out to be Jiang Lu.

“Jiang Li, seriously, I’ll give you thirty million as a marriage gift. Marry me with the adenoma drug patent. How about becoming Mrs. Jiang, the president’s wife and chief research scientist of Jiang Pharmaceuticals?”
