After dinner, Jing Li took a taxi home and saw Jing Ran organizing things for his return to school the next day. Although the hotel management internship for senior students was during the internship period, they still had to return to school for registration, reporting, class meetings, and many other matters during the first week of the semester.

The hotel’s HR department had also approved a one-week leave for Jing Ran and Jing Li, and they were expected to return to work after the vacation. The HR department also arranged a new position for Jing Li as a hotel sales clerk, unlike Jing Ran who often went on field assignments. However, it was still a happy thing for both of them to work in the same department.

After Jing Li returned to school and reported, she saw her roommates were particularly excited, mainly because they had many interesting experiences during their summer internships and wanted to share them. Their dormitory was still there, but since it was the end of the previous semester, everyone had cleared out their belongings, and it was now deserted. They didn’t feel like going back to clean it up. After the class meeting, a few girls chatted non-stop in the school café. Jing Ran’s roommate was preparing for postgraduate exams and still lived in the dormitory, while Jing Ran went back to his own dormitory and waited for Jing Li to finish chatting before going home.

After chatting with her roommates for an afternoon, Jing Li and her friends left the coffee shop and encountered a group of freshmen who had just finished military training, walking in small groups on the campus pathway. Jing Li and her roommates were well-dressed, and a few male students in military uniforms whistled at them.

Li Ruihua particularly disliked such behavior and said, “These kids nowadays are really frivolous!”

“Senior Jing Li, is that really you?”

Jing Li and her roommates had just walked a few steps when a male student in a military uniform ran over and called out to Jing Li. Looking at the dark-skinned young man, Jing Li hesitated for a moment and said, “Xiao Tian, I haven’t seen you for a week, and you’ve gotten so much darker. I almost didn’t recognize you.”

Bo Tian was a freshman who arrived at the school a week earlier for military training, so he left the hotel a week earlier than the other interns. Yesterday, due to the military training, he didn’t attend the farewell dinner.

“Hey, by the way, are you staying at the school this semester?” Bo Tian asked.

Jing Li explained, “I’m in hotel management, and as a senior, I don’t have classes. I’ll be going back to work at the hotel next week.”

“Sales clerk.”

“Not bad, working in the same department as your boyfriend.”

The coffee shop is right next to the male dormitory. Jing Ran, checking the time, was about to call Jing Li home. When he saw her talking to a male freshman in a military uniform, he quickly walked over and realized it was a hotel intern.

Bo Tian was surprised to see Jing Ran. He knew that Jing Li’s boyfriend worked in the sales department. He didn’t expect him to come from the direction of the male dormitory. He asked Jing Li, “Is your boyfriend also a student here?”

“Yeah!”

Jing Ran walked over and called out, “Lili!”

Jing Li hugged his arm, bid farewell to Bo Tian and her roommates, and said, “I’m going home first. See you.”

As Jing Li walked with Jing Ran towards the school gate, she remembered Jing Ran approached them quickly, poked his arm and asked, “Were you jealous again, wanting to call me your wife?”

“Hehe…” Jing Ran admitted.

Jing Li was a bit unhappy. “You silly kid, why are you so insecure? Or do you not trust me?”

Jing Ran raised his hand to scratch the back of his head and said in a cute tone, “I can’t control being jealous.”

Jing Li glanced at him, sighed, and said, “Well, you better learn to control it. In the future, we’ll be working in the same department, and you can’t be watching me every day to see if any guy talks to me, right? It will affect everyone’s work.”

Jing Ran fell silent.

Jing Li smiled and comforted Jing Ran, “Ranran, you’ve grown up. Don’t be so stubborn all the time. Also, trust me a little more. I don’t like you being jealous for no reason, making it seem like I have a cheating history.”

Jing Ran nodded and said, “I’ll try to control it…”

“So obedient! Your Sister will cook for you when we gets home.”

Jing Ran: “…What did I do wrong again.” He was anticipating another round of mysterious culinary experiments.

Jing Li glared at him.

In the new week, Jing Li reported to the sales department. When Jing Li was interning, Jing Ran’s colleagues in the sales department often saw them having meals together in the cafeteria. Jing Ran would openly introduce Jing Li as his girlfriend to his colleagues.

After the introduction in front of the department staff, Jing Li was assigned to sit in the clerical work area. Her daily tasks included handling orders received by the sales team and distributing the workload to the relevant departments.

While arranging her new desk, Jing Ran approached.

Jing Li asked, “What’s up?”

Jing Ran held a sticky note in his hand, stuck it on Jing Li’s computer, and said, “I was in a hurry today and forgot to give you this.”

Jing Li glanced at the sticky note:

“Where did you learn this, so childish.” Although Jing Li was mocking, she felt warm in her heart.

Unconsciously, Jing Li had been working in the sales department for two months. Shortly after the HR department processed her regular employment procedures, Jing Ran’s father asked Jing Li to have a meeting in the general manager’s office.

Jing Li had been working at the hotel for about four months, including her internship and probation period. During this time, she and Jing Ran would go home every month to have dinner with Jing Ran’s parents. The conversations mostly revolved around how the two kids were doing at the hotel.

Entering the general manager’s office, Jing Li greeted Jing Ran’s father respectfully, “Hello, Mr. Jing.”

Jing Ran’s father sat at his desk, smiled kindly, and said, “Lili, there’s no need for formality here. Just call me uncle.”

Jing Li was tactful. She wouldn’t mention outside that the hotel general manager was her future father-in-law. Although, in the future, when Jing Ran takes over the hotel, everyone would be aware of this relationship.

“Uncle, why did you call me here?” Jing Li asked.

Jing Ran’s father gestured towards a couch, saying, “Would you like to sit? I have some things I’d like to discuss with you.”

Jing Li felt a bit nervous, but her expression remained calm. She walked to the couch, sat down, and waited for Jing Ran’s father to continue.

Jing Ran’s father asked, “Have you heard about the new hotel our group is opening in Hong Kong, preparing for its grand opening?”

Jing Li nodded, “I have some understanding of it.”

Jing Ran’s father nodded, “Good, you have some understanding. Let me get straight to the point. Because the new hotel is preparing for its opening, apart from hiring relevant staff positions, other branches of the hotel will send some employees to support the new hotel’s operations. Haiyue’s side will also send a few experienced employees there. However, I have a thought; I want to recommend you to go.”
