Chapter 77 2/2
“Team—”
Lu Jing: “Don’t want to.”
Jiang Wanlan: “If you don’t want to, why do you always train with Cen Lang?”
Lu Jing: “I haven’t—”
He paused: “It’s a misunderstanding.”
To prevent Jiang Wanlan from overthinking, Lu Jing had to confess how he encountered a sun-tanned little one…
“Hahaha…” Jiang Wanlan laughed, falling onto the bed. “Your grandson got sunburned… Lu Jing, you’re quite talkative.”
Lu Jing: “…”
His IQ suffered a rubdown from a one-and-a-half-year-old.
Jiang Wanlan: “I need to tell the baby.”
Lu Jing: “…”
Jiang Li’s bedroom.
The little one was energetic during the day, and at night, he could be put in the crib and sleep directly.
Cen Lang is about to return to the space forces tomorrow. The young couple squats by the crib, watching the little one together.
Jiang Li: “Can dad return through normal procedures?”
Cen Lang: “Hmm? Sure.”
Jiang Li: “Are there any positions that only require half a year of work in a year?”
Cen Lang: “Let me think.”
Jiang Li lowered her eyes, approached Cen Lang, and kissed him. “Think well.”
Cen Lang’s mind wandered: “Didn’t hear your dad mention a transfer? What’s the reason?”
Jiang Li was about to speak when her phone received a text from her dad.
Silently, she handed the phone to Cen Lang.
After reading it, Cen Lang fell silent. It was unjust, but not entirely unjust.
“Can I pick up your son and give him a good beating?”
Jiang Li: “Feel free; after the beating, rest well. You must be tired too.”
Cen Lang flicked the little one’s cheek. This was really tricky!
Cen Lang is not on Earth.
During Cen Lang’s absence, Jiang Li takes the little one to visit Cen Lang’s parents.
The doctor says there are signs of brain recovery, and awakening is imminent.
Initially fearing confusion between dad and grandpa for the little one, Jiang Ping only used recordings. Later, finding the little one quite clear, she allows him to sit on a small stool and call Cen Lang “dad.”
Children like to wear adults’ shoes, and Jiang Wangxing is enthusiastic about substituting for dad.
“Dad, wake up soon!”
“My dad also wants dad.”
“Cen Dad!”
Land fears the excessive talk.
Hmm!
The detector alarms.
The little one stands up, holding onto the glass, shouting, “Dad! Dad!”
He’s calling for Jiang Li, but she’s temporarily not there, and he’s accompanied by the guard team.
Wang Wang is excited and lifts the little one, letting him see higher. “Young Master is amazing! He’s awake!”
The doctor predicts it will take a few more months, but perhaps due to the little one’s enthusiasm, Cen Lang’s parents find it hard to sleep.
Cen Lang’s father, Cen Jinwen, wakes up earlier than his mother, Yao Yi. He stays in a closed compartment, creating an environment similar to the hibernation chamber; outsiders can’t easily enter, and they can’t directly come out to contact the outside air.
Excited instructions from the medical room prompt him to perform actions to check his body functions.
After Cen Jinwen finishes moving, he quickly shifts to a wheelchair, waking up his wife on another medical bed.
Yao Yi’s body is still immobile; she can only speak a few sentences, weakly saying, “Our son has been calling us.”
Cen Jinwen: “I heard too.”
Unable to see the outside, Yao Yi murmurs, “Is it a dream? Are we on Earth?”
Cen Jinwen uses his genius mind to analyse: “From the gravity sensation, it seems to be on Earth.”
“Are we sorry for our son and dad? Wait, did you hear a child’s voice?” Yao Yi senses something amiss.
Cen Jinwen nods, furrowing his brows. Before they fell asleep, they judged that if there was a chance to escape the attraction of a high-quality celestial body, it should have been decades on Earth, undergoing significant changes.
Their son should have grown up, and dad should be old.
Suddenly, Yao Yi suggests, “Could we have misjudged? Is it actually reversed time?”
Cen Jinwen: “Possible.”
The couple starts discussing various astronomical formulas, presenting the possibility that their son is still an infant.
They reach a consensus.
“I seem to have forgotten what he looks like.”
“It’s okay, as long as we haven’t forgotten the formulas.”
“I hear our son’s voice.”
Cen Jinwen glances around the experimental area. Sensing the scientists’ sensitivity to various buttons, he quickly catches the direction of the sound. After operating the panel by the bed, a video frame appears on the panel, showing a chubby face.
Being held by a guard.
The guard calls him Young Master.
The Young Master asks, “Woof Woof Team, where’s dad?”
Yao Yi is moving, turning to the screen. Vaguely feeling familiarity, she confidently says, “It’s our son.”
Cen Jinwen is cautious and initiates a voice dialogue, “Are you… Cen Lang?”
The little one hears his sleeping grandpa’s voice for the first time, freezes, and slowly greets, “Cen Lang is me, dad.”
“Cen Lang is me, dad.”
“It’s his voice!”
“He said Cen Lang is him, and he still called me dad.”
Cen Jinwen’s eyes moisten instantly.
Yao Yi: “Where’s dad? Is he nearby? Can the camera rotate?”
Cen Jinwen frowns, trying to operate, but in vain.
“Cen Lang, is Grandpa okay? Call Grandpa over.”
Wang Wang and the little one are both stunned.
Little Jiang Wangxing has a flash of inspiration. Hmm, if dad isn’t here, I’ll be dad and take responsibility for him.
It turns out he’s still playing dad!
“Grandpa isn’t here!”
Yao Yi’s heart melts a bit, feeling like her son has become a bit cuter.
“Sorry, we can’t go out yet.”
The couple is eager to compensate their son, expressing, “Whatever battleship or robot you want, dad and mum will make it for you.”
The little one’s eyes light up. “Anything can be done?”
“Yes.”
Wang Wang witnesses it all: “…”
I’ve heard the old master say that this couple is unreliable in daily life, but really giving heavy firepower battleships to a kid who can’t even hold chopsticks!
Other doctors: “…”
No mature family members are around; what can they do? They can only let the only direct family member speak.
Little Jiang Wangxing starts gesturing, wanting this and that. extremely complex features.
Cen Jinwen and Yao Yi listen for a while, roughly understanding. Their son wants an “automatic feeding machine.”
The difference is that the food doesn’t land in a bowl but is thrown randomly in a parabolic trajectory. Ideally, throw beef jerky on one side and dumplings on the other. If the machine can be very small, hidden in the dog house, and automatically make beef jerky and dumplings, it would be superb!
Though puzzled, the function is easy to implement.
“No problem.”
The little one holds his face with both hands.
“You’re super amazing!”
When Cen Lang and Jiang Ping hurriedly arrived, Cen Jinwen and Yao Yi, dragging their semi-vegetative bodies, had already drawn half of the map fooled by them.
Cen Lang’s eyes were a bit moist as he playfully scolded them.
A pair of fools!
