Chapter 10: Surprise  

That morning, Lin Zhizhi had no classes, but she woke up early and went to the dance studio to gently stretch her body.  

She initially planned to practice dancing, but then she suddenly remembered that she was pregnant. Although it was still early in her pregnancy, she dared not engage in intense physical activity.  

Lin Zhizhi had wanted to dance to her heart’s content, but after just warming up, she had to stop.  

Taking a sip of water, Lin Zhizhi suddenly thought of the culprit behind her situation—Lu Yi. She immediately tightened the bottle cap, swung her towel over her shoulder, and quickly went upstairs to change before going to find him.  

She put on a simple white top and light blue denim jeans, accessorized with a long-chain handbag, making her appear tall and gentle.  

As she walked towards the garage, she unlocked her phone and sent a message to Lu Yi.  

[Good morning, boyfriend.]  

[Good morning, girlfriend.]  

Lin Zhizhi looked at the chat box, where the words “The other party is typing…” appeared at the top.  

She couldn’t help but smile, the corners of her lips unconsciously curving upward.  

[I’m so bored.] She added a cute emoji of a little character rolling around in boredom.  

[I’m about to go to class now. I’ll come find you after?]  

[Okay!]  

Lin Zhizhi had already learned Lu Yi’s class schedule from his roommate.  

Now was the perfect time to go to his classroom and give him a surprise.  

Under the banyan tree at the corner of the dormitory building, Lu Yi stood with his phone in hand, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. His right hand gently tapped the emoji that Lin Zhizhi had just sent.  

The young man in a white top, with his high nose bridge and full yet thin lips, usually carried a cool and distant expression. But at that moment, his smile was dazzling enough to make anyone lose focus.  

After waiting for a moment and seeing that Lin Zhizhi hadn’t sent any more messages, Lu Yi put his phone away and continued walking toward the teaching building.  

Lu Yi was a Computer Science major. In this department, the majority of students were male, with only a handful of female students. However, this major was also one of the top programs at their university.  

When Lin Zhizhi arrived at the entrance of Lu Yi’s classroom, she immediately spotted him among the many engineering students. In that sea of students, Lu Yi stood out like a crane among chickens. With just a quick scan of the room, she easily found him.  

Lu Yi sat by the window in the third row, his head slightly lowered as he read his book. A gentle breeze blew through the room, making the curtains flutter softly. The entire scene looked like something straight out of a TV drama.  

Lin Zhizhi noticed that almost all the girls in the classroom had their eyes on Lu Yi.  

Without hesitation, she walked straight toward him and stopped at the seat in front of him.

As soon as Lin Zhizhi walked into the classroom, the students who had been chatting in small groups gradually fell silent. Their gazes followed her as she moved.  

Lin Zhizhi smiled softly as she looked at Lu Yi.  

Was this guy too focused? He hadn’t even noticed someone standing right in front of him.  

Curious, she bent down slightly to see what he was reading.  

Just as Lu Yi finished reading a page and was about to turn to the next, he noticed that the room had suddenly gone quiet.

He was about to lift his head when a gentle, elegant fragrance wafted toward him.  

He raised his head and was instantly greeted by the sight of Lin Zhizhi’s long eyelashes, delicate nose, and the silky hair draped over her shoulders.  

Her small, stunningly beautiful face appeared so unexpectedly in front of him. The breeze continued to blow softly, but it could do nothing to cool the heat that suddenly surged in Lu Yi’s chest.  

As Lin Zhizhi sensed his gaze, she lifted her eyes to meet his and offered a charming smile. Lu Yi felt as though he could hear the pounding of his own heartbeat echoing in his chest.  

Lin Zhizhi straightened up but kept her eyes on Lu Yi.  

“So? Surprised to see me?” she asked.  

Lu Yi stood up and stepped aside, gesturing for her to sit inside.  

After they both sat down, Lu Yi turned to look at her.  

“A little surprised.” he admitted.  

After a brief pause, he added: “But it feels good. You came to see me today; next time, I’ll come and keep you company during class.”  

Lin Zhizhi chuckled.  

“You’ll accompany me to every class?”  

Lu Yi raised his eyebrows slightly and nodded.  

“Do you know how to dance? You can’t just watch during dance class.”  

Lu Yi looked at her with amusement, noting how she smiled mischievously like a cat that had just stolen cream. He couldn’t help but laugh.  

“Then I’ll wait for you outside the dance studio.” he said.  

Lu Yi had deep, mesmerizing eyes that always seemed to gaze at her as if she were the only one he cared about. His voice was rich and magnetic, and with words so easily open to misunderstanding, Lin Zhizhi felt her cheeks flush. She quickly turned her head toward the blackboard.  

“The teacher’s here. Class is starting.”  

Lu Yi noticed how the soft pink hue spread across her smooth, fair cheek. His eyes flickered slightly, and a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. He obediently shifted his gaze to the blackboard.
