Transmigrated as the Male Lead’s Vicious Ex-Girlfriend Chapter 20

Chapter 20: The Shameless Family

Lin Zhizhi did own a few houses in the city, but she had barely ever stayed in them.

A house left unoccupied for so long would undoubtedly have poor air quality, not to mention the hassle it would bring.

So, Lin Zhizhi headed straight for a five-star hotel in the city.

Upon arriving at the hotel, she quickly booked a presidential suite and, led by the bellboy, went straight to the bedroom.

It wasn’t that Lin Zhizhi had to stay in a presidential suite; it was just that her current wealth made her feel embarrassed not to enjoy such luxuries.

Besides, if she failed to save the Lin Group and it ended up going bankrupt like in the book, she wouldn’t have the chance to enjoy this lifestyle anymore.

One should live in the moment and enjoy life while it lasts.

Lin Zhizhi took a shower, changed into a bathrobe, and lay comfortably on the bed.

She had to admit, the life of the wealthy was indeed wonderful.

Just look at how soft and cozy the bed was, how exquisite the decor was, and those oil paintings hanging on the walls — she didn’t really understand art, but one glance was enough to tell they must be outrageously expensive. There was no way they cost less than hundreds of thousands.

Lin Zhizhi picked up her phone, opened the surveillance app, and tapped on the living room camera feed. She immediately saw that besides Aunt Yang, there were three other people in the house.

One was a young girl with heavy makeup and revealing clothes. Another was a young man with fiery red hair, his face dotted with red pimples like a painted canvas.

The last one was a short, skinny middle-aged man with a sharp face and a monkey-like appearance.

The three of them, along with Aunt Yang, were either sitting or lying on the sofa watching TV. Their mouths never stopped moving as they continuously snacked on the food placed on the table. The snacks spilled all over the sofa and the floor, but they acted as if they hadn’t noticed, watching TV with relish.

Seeing this scene, Lin Zhizhi sat up on the bed in shock, her eyes glued to the screen. She muttered with surprising calmness: “Oh, come on… what the hell!”

Who could tolerate this?!

At first, Lin Zhizhi thought Aunt Yang was just taking a few petty advantages here and there — at most, sneaking some things home.

But it turned out that Aunt Yang wasn’t just taking advantage; she had the audacity to bring her entire family to blatantly freeload.

The way these four people carried themselves made it seem as if they were in their own home, showing not the slightest hint of courtesy.

There was no denying that Aunt Yang’s acting skills were truly remarkable—she deserved an Oscar. Judging by their behavior, this was clearly not their first time doing such a thing.

Lin Zhizhi played back the surveillance footage from after she had left home. She saw that as soon as she was gone, Aunt Yang entered the house, went straight to her room, opened the door, and said, “Come out, she’s gone.”

Immediately, the other three people emerged from the room.

Watching this scene, Lin Zhizhi felt a chill run down her spine. If she had shown even the slightest sign of suspicion earlier, Aunt Yang and the others might have noticed. If they had been driven into a corner, they could have chosen to go all the way and simply kidnapped her. If that had happened, she might not have made it out alive.

The mere thought sent shivers through her. She quickly shook her head to clear it.

Recalling the signs that her room had been disturbed, she checked the surveillance footage from inside. She saw that the girl who had been sitting in the living room watching TV—most likely Aunt Yang’s daughter—had entered her bedroom.

The girl sat at Lin Zhizhi’s vanity, picked up her lipstick, and applied it to her own lips. After that, she got up and entered the walk-in closet, happily holding up various outfits against her body, striking poses, and taking countless selfies.

In just a few short minutes, Lin Zhizhi felt as though her entire worldview had been turned upside down by this shameless family.

Truly, when a person abandoned their dignity, they became unstoppable.

Lin Zhizhi wanted to call the police immediately and catch them red-handed. However, at the moment, the surveillance footage only showed them using her belongings without permission. That alone might not be enough to bring serious punishment upon them.

She knew that without catching them in the act or having concrete evidence like surveillance recordings, the police might not even take the case. After all, there were many possible explanations for missing items, and they couldn’t immediately conclude that the nanny was responsible. Moreover, the severity of the case depended on the value of the stolen goods.

Right now, even though Lin Zhizhi had surveillance footage, it had yet to capture them actually stealing anything. If the stolen items amounted to more than 2,000 yuan, then a criminal case could be pursued.

She was determined to make this family pay, so she decided to be patient and spend a little more time watching them. After all, she had plenty of time to play this game with them.

With that in mind, Lin Zhizhi decisively turned off her phone and took a nap.
